I came in to open a new account and sign paperwork on some loan documents. Everything went smoothly and fairly quickly. Account manager was good in what he did and knowledgable about accounts. In my experience, Wells Fargo might not have the best phone customer service but they do extremely great face to face.

I tried this bank, and thankfully before I moved all of my money and investment accounts over, found out that they are run no differently than any other customer-unfriendly, profit-greedy financial institution. Long story short, I had some fraud on my account and filed an EFT dispute with the bank, following all bank rules and within mandated legal time frames. This bank never processed my claim. They flat out ignored my claim. I waited for over 65 days for resolution and never got it. All financial institutions are mandated by law (called Reg E) as to their responsibilities and time frames for responding to customer complaints that fall under Reg E. This bank - no response. I called them every few days for a status. The employee handling the claim - conveniently "out of the office" EVERY TIME I CALLED (with no return phone call, ever). My claim was small. Only $150. But based on principal alone I filed a small claims case against them. What did they do? They moved the case from from the affordable small claims division to the very expensive civil court division where they knew that I would have to spend serious money on an attorney. Then they filed a counter-claim against me for their legal fees (obviously to punish me for filing my initial claim). How dare I stand up for my rights! I also filed a complaint against the credit union with their federal regulatory agency, the National Association of Credit Unions. What a joke! The agency that's charged with promoting credit unions to the public is also expected to police them? We all know how that turns out. Again, if you want to get away from financial institutions that care about profits over people, then based on my experience with this place - STAY AWAY!
