This bike trail has different trails, some 3 miles, 6 miles, & 9 miles total. Located at University of South Alabama, & very close to the stadium & Glenn Sebastian Nature Trail. I also walked all over the college with my dog, so you can get a little variety & walk/ run/ride on pavement if you get bored of the woods.

The course is open, but it has some elevation and makes use of a few copses of trees to good effect in order to create a quick yet interesting course. Typically I would simply play the 9 holes twice to get in a full 18 holes, but the past few months the town has been quickly developing a swath of land across the street from the front 9 and the back 9 is almost ready to go. Tee pads are in (except for a little confusion on the direction of the pad on 14) and 7 of 9 holes have baskets up and are ready for play. The front 9 has only a single par 4 (hole 7), but the back 9 has 3 par 4s (holes 11, 13, 15). There are signs up showing the lie of the hole and distance on the front 9 and I expect the back 9 will get signs eventually too. There is a paved walking/jogging path that runs completely around the front 9 and runs out along the right side of the course on the back 9. In addition there is a pavillion with a picnic table and areas designated to be 'recreation areas' that have yet to be developed. The grass is often mowed and the course well maintained. The ground can be kinda spongy and sandy in places, and watching where you step around some of the holes should keep you from stepping in an ant mound. All in all, it's my favorite course in the Mobile area and keeps me driving across the causeway nearly every other weekend.

It has a children's play area, a nice lake, several pavilions and a bridge that leads to the Mobile Miuseum of Art. Over on that side of the bridge,they have several sculptures on the grounds. All in all, Joseph N. Langan Park is a wonderful addition to the community of Mobile, Alabama and a great place for all to gather in test and recreation. I would definitely recommend Joseph N. Langan Park and I give it five stars foe an absolutely amazing park. Go see it for yourself.

Three or four benches & trashcans, most in the shade, under Southern Live Oaks with Spanish Moss, one near playground, one near basketball court. Playground has a swingset, slides, monkey bars. There is a drinking fountain. No parking lot, but there is a gravel vehicle access road that leads near the creek if you want to fish, or you could park on the residential streets surrounding the park. This park is wooded, a little swampy & marshy near the creek in the rear. Two large grassy areas for baseball or soccer, however, both were muddy because of summer storm season. My dog liked the park. Would be nice if this park had restrooms or a port-a-potty. FYI, there is a burned, abandoned, condemned house directly next to the park. Part of the park extends in the back behind three or four homes, it is a wooded area, but the clearing was a little muddy. If you are in that area, no one can see you there from the road.

The course is small but super fun and the city has started making more improvements so it will only get better as time goes on. The food is great and the service is excellent. Although this is a municipal course, and some rules are a bit relaxed, Mikki is very serious about golf etiquette and and golfing safety. She has a wonderful respect for the game and wonderful stories of her own professional experiences. 10/10 recommend!!!

Nice hiking trail within a housing development in Spanish Fort. The trail begins at a Cul deSac…read morethat is marked by a historical marker sign. The bridge is in diserepair and there are some burned ruins of a former structure, other then that, it was a good hike.
