At the National Bank of Indianapolis, the transfer is instantaneous. However at PNC, I am now paying interest on an auto loan that I had the cash to payoff. Their online banking is pointless also. If you have to go in handle a simple cash transfer then what's the point? And, telephone banking is even worse! I held for 10 minutes last night and was eventually hung-up on and then when I called back today I got a message saying that my call was important, but that the wait was 20 minutes! How important can my call be if they don't answer for 20 minutes. I actually feel sorry for the poor people that have to work there. They've closed branches and it seems clear that they are trying to save a sinking ship.
