After paying the man but thinking better of it, he stopped at the bank a few hours later, was advised by the teller that the check did not "clear," and issued a "Stop Payment" on that check. He then immediately called that repair facility, left a message for the owner that he "Stopped Payment" due to the final payment being double the estimate. He followed that phonecall with written correspondence evidencing the written estimate with the actual charge. The owner of the truck repair shop never replied nor called back to discuss the matter BECAUSE: The teller at Citizens Bank INCORRECTLY informed my husband that a Stop Payment was put into effect immediately when it apparently was not. Payment was made! We wrote to the President of Citizens Bank that we were given incorrect information and proceeded accordingly based on that incorrect information. The President of Citizens would not take nor return our calls nor reply to the letters and ultimately we gave up. We closed our business checking as well as our other accounts there due to this incident and advise others that this bank does not stand by its employees actions. Citizens Bank did not treat our business with importance and as such, we warn other small businesses to BEWARE.

I have mixed feelings about this location based on two recent experiences - one being great and one…read morebeing not so great. My first experience was because I lost my debit card and needed a new one printed. The teller that assisted me was great, although a bit pushy with "selling me" on mortgage loans, car loans, etc. I get it though - that's her job. She was helpful when discussing PNC employee benefits (my fiance is an employee) on loans and such for the future. My second recent experience was because I lost my debit card again (must have been having a rough week lol). It was a different teller this time. While I appreciate that I was in and out pretty quick with my new card, it was not a good experience after I left. I had 10 errands to run immediately after leaving the bank. My card was getting declined one store after another, causing me to use a credit card. I couldn't understand what was happening until it dawned on me - the teller never asked me which bank account my new debit card was for and therefore, connected it to the incorrect account. I'm a little confused why he didn't verify which account, especially because the one he connected it to has zero dollars in it (I do not use this account hardly ever) vs. my normal account with money in it. This may seem like a minor mistake but every single bill I have is connected to one account and so then, all of my bills were bouncing because of this - a total nightmare. When I think back on the appointment, the teller was friendly but like I said, it was a quick appointment and I'm now remembering that he told me how he lost his debit card recently at a bar... Now, I hate to complain because I'm young and fun (in my opinion lol) but discussing the bar during a banking meeting isn't very professional and now led to all of these issues with my debit card. Overall, I guess I would return but will be very, very cautious of who the teller is and making sure I verify everything that they are doing. Honestly though, I will probably go to a different location because in my opinion, money is not to be messed with.

We needed to obtain a cashier's check, and although it was around lunchtime, no other customers were ahead of us in line. The teller and his manager were very helpful and polite. They checked our identification and debit card, and then they created the cashier's check in the correct amount for the correct payee. As we were walking out of the building, another employee thanked us for coming and said goodbye. This location of PNC also has a few lanes in their drive-thru.

You can't say anything bad about the staff at this branch - they are friendly, efficient, and…read moreknowledgeable. That part of my experience was pretty great. Then we come to the banking part, and I'm afraid I'm going to have to break up after only a few months. Came to them after getting a mailer offering a bonus for opening an account and having a direct deposit and a minimum balance. OK, I've heard good things about Huntington, and the bonus was a good incentive to give them a try. Opened checking, savings and a credit card that had a cashback rebate. That was 4 months ago. Two months ago, they charged me a monthly maintenance fee I didn't owe. A phone call got that credited and they had no idea why I got charged. Still, hmmm. This month, they dinged me for a late credit card payment. Said it didn't get there until the 13th. It was mailed on the 1st. I called, a snippy person said I needed to allow 7-10 business days when mailing in payments. You kidding me? I have mailed payments all over the country allowing 5 business days and never had a problem. Then I looked at my cancelled check image online - why is there a rubber stamp with the date of the 7th in the middle of the check when allegedly it didn't get there until the 13th? And this month I see my savings interest rate went down. Odd, I checked their rate online - they are paying 4x the rate I get... but only to new customers, and it's only guaranteed for 90 days. I guess that's what happened to me. I became an old customer after 90 days, so it was time for my interest rate to be cut. They don't even show the rates for not-new customers. If you receive paper statements, you can't have online access to statements. First bank I ever ran into that does that. When considering a new bank, I open accounts and then always wait at least 6 months before I go all in and close my other account, just in case things don't go smoothly. I know no bank is perfect and sometimes the annoyances you already have aren't as bad as the annoyances at the new bank. The above story is why I wait those 6 months. So I'm going to stick with my current bank.

Compared with PNC or Huntington, who are really anal about small details (like showing two forms of ID in order to open accounts) and consider the sterile, "every branch exactly the same" approach to be the most appropriate, I cannot recommend the bank enough. Additionally, their free checking is definitely accommodating (although the check writing limit is a little low) and their savings yields are competitive (which, because of the current economy, means that they are ridiculously low--lol). I would recommend this bank to all of my neighbors in Avalon.
