I had a few days to calm down over the very simple pick up…read more When I called to make arrangements for the pick up, I had asked for an 11 am pick up but after speaking to the woman and factoring in the time I need to get to the location of the pickup, I had told her to push it back 1/2 an hour so the moving guy will not have to wait. I explained that I had the an industrial sewing machine which is about 4 feet tall and 5 feet wide. She asked me how much it weight and I clearly told her about 75 pounds or more. She told me she recommend a van and I agreed. I had for 1 guy because I had guys at pick up and drop off locations. The guy in essence will only need to drive the machine. You think this would be smooth sailing. At exactly 11:25, the machine was in the loading doc waiting for the guy to show up with the van. Half an hour goes by and I call the company asking where the van was. While I was on the phone with Jesse the moving guy comes up and asked me I was moving the machine. I see he has a minivan. WTF!!! what moving company will misrepresent their vehicles in such a flagrant LIE. A minivan is not a VAN! The guy tells him my machine in much bigger and is 200 pounds.

After a $28 quote from Urban Express I decided to do a bit more research to find a courier for my small package of Yelp subway maps going to the Water Charity in Soho. NY Minute arrived 30 minutes after my call, charged $12 on my credit card and whipped my box downtown lickety split! I hadn't even finished wrapping it up when they arrived and the guy sweetly helped me get everything together. Less than an hour later my stuff arrived at the destination and I hardly broke a sweat! Calling them back today (I forgot to get a receipt) the receptionist was incredibly friendly and quick. These guys are now on the office quick list for inter-city deliveries in a "NY Minute" and I'm still waiting for Mary Kate and Ashley to show up in bike shorts and backpacks...maybe next time.

I have never seen a product more well designed than this bed...............not only as to the look and functionality but as to how it should be assembled. That said, your men had obviously been trained as to how to assemble this bed. Your three men were virtually silent as they did their jobs like a jazz trio. At one point, one of the men actually said "this is a terrific bed"..........which made me think that he worked for Design Within Reach. When I called to compliment the folks at DWR and asked if the delivery people worked for them they said that they didn't. Given an excellent product and people at U-Kay who were a pleasure to work with throughout, the icing on the cake was your team of professionals who put their bed together and were in and out in a half hour. I would think that the owners of DWR understand what an asset you are to them. If not, let me suggest that you let them know. I wasn't joking when I said that I'm a 78 year old man who can be a real pain in the ass in situations like this. NOT TODAY. Thanks for giving us a very pleasant surprise.

We have used UKAY for two separate DWR orders. With our previous order, the furniture was damaged…read moreduring two different delivery attempts. This time, UKAY failed to deliver the furniture at all after repeated cancellations. The communication from our coordinator, Jessica, was especially poor. Deliveries were canceled at the last minute, including calls early in the morning on the scheduled delivery day, after we had already rearranged our work and personal schedules. When there was a COI issue, Jessica repeatedly complained to me that UKAY could not provide what the building required instead of taking ownership and resolving it directly with building management. Our building regularly receives and approves COIs from other delivery companies and vendors in New York. UKAY was the only company unable to make its COI comply with the building's standard requirements. Despite having the building's template and contact information, UKAY did not coordinate effectively with the building or DWR. I was forced to act as the middleman among UKAY, building management, and DWR - even though COI was entirely UKAY's responsibility as the delivery provider. For a paid white-glove service, the entire process was extremely unprofessional. The delivery crew showed up far earlier than the confirmed window and asked us to make phone calls and coordinate arrangements for them. After they failed to resolve building issues with repeated last min cancellations, they asked whether it could simply leave the furniture in the lobby instead of providing the in-home delivery service we paid for. When I told Jessica that I would request a refund from DWR, she became defensive, argued that they had "tried to deliver," complained to me that she sends "thousands of COIs every day," and then hung up on me. Across two DWR orders, UKAY either damaged the furniture or failed to deliver it at all. Their coordinator showed poor communication, took no ownership, and pushed the work of resolving their delivery problems onto the customer. This is nowhere near professional white-glove service.
