The staff at LaPosada are exceptional! Kind, Welcoming, Helpful and knowledgeable. The services, activities, meals and quality of living is tremendous. My mother absolutely loves her apartment and she loves living there! She has made friends quickly and always has a friend (or new friend) to have dinner with each night. And we have joined her for dinner several times and the food is upscale and delicious! We especially like the cocktail hour each night in their bar area. I love that there are two restaurants to choose from and there are new specials every night. There are also plenty of fun, interesting shows, activities and exercise classes for her to participate in. She enjoys regular transportation to Publix, the mall, or a doctors appointment. In addition, the grounds and community center are so beautiful and peaceful. A special shout out to many of the wonderful staff members: First our initial contact Lonnie Ehmann who shared her time and talent and layed the foundation for our initial visits. Fabulous Kim Mancini, Yolanda, and Vivianna all made my mom's transition seamless and comfortable. Stephanie, Jennifer and all the wait staff at the Waterfront dining are so gracious and outstanding! The list goes on and on - I really can't say enough about all the staff at La Posada!! There is incredible comfort and peace-of-mind knowing that she is well cared for and that there are systems in place to check on her well being. The staff was very professional and courteous. All the nurses that I saw was a RN, working the floor just like the nurses aide at other facilities. The surrounding area had a lot of trees, that gave it a very serene feeling and atmosphere. You really can't judge a place until you've been at the worst of the worst. I had a heart transplant in Shands, Gainsville for a specialty doctor up at UF in Gainsville, Fl. After a week of surgery I was placed in a "Stephen King" rehab center in the deep south. I stayed on bed pans for a half hour or so, they didn't wipe me and woke in the AM with "chocolate " all over my bed. They left my sheets this way for three days. Unacceptable for open wound care especially. They only had two aides for the whole place and he nurse. Three days in I finally got my life saving meds and pain pills . A little late IMHO! Finally a week later my room crashed around me and I hollored for an aid stat! She finally got the nurse a half hour later as I went into ventricular tachycardia! I almost died and went to No Fl Regional to be paddled and shocked twice to get back into normal sinus rythem. Not right! I think it was called No Fl Rehab Center, blah! When I get back home I'd chose Heartland, knowing the area and some good people who've worked there. It wasn't perfect, so I give it and A- maybe, but it sure beat some of the lesser like Downtown Gardens. Jupiter Rehab is good too! Being for Gardens these three are probably your best options. One staff member, Lance, who called himself a doctor but is actually an APRN, yelled at me and made fun of me when I said I wasn't feeling well. The facility forced me to stay the full 21 days before arranging transportation back to Miami, even though I explained I had no money for a ride. It was clear that my financial situation was being used against me -- they only arranged an Uber after 21 days, and the process was stressful and humiliating. I was also mocked for taking Xanax for anxiety, despite informing the admitting team about my medical history, including AFib (Atrial Fibrillation). My therapist even said she could not help me because all my issues were medical, leaving me with no mental health support -- only stress and aggravation. This facility appears to prioritize money over patient care. I urge anyone considering it to be cautious -- patients deserve respectful, professional care, not exploitation or neglect.

I told the guy I do not have the money. I told him that had I been made aware of this, I would not have gone to this place. He said that while I was there he was going to speak to me, but decided against it. Because he chose not to tell me at the beginning, I chose not to pay. The psych nurse, Barbara L Bryant, prescribed a MUCH higher dose of a medication. My pharmacy alerted me to the mistake. She is a nasty, arrogant, condescending person that has no business doing what she does. It took 4 days, my communicating with various staff members for the mistake to be corrected. And Barbara L Bryant lied to me that she did not make this mistake - that it was the pharmacy's mistake. Then, she lied to me that she did not make a mistake. The therapist Sally Bartolucci is awful. None of the clients in the place liked her. Her group sessions were useless. Her therapist skills are weak. The group meeting room was barely air conditioned (this was summer time). It was hot, humid and smelled of perspiration. The food was awful. The room was filthy and too small. EVEN WORSE: I received a collection agency called Grimley financial ($825) more than two years after i was there for the services of Barbara L. Bryant Florida license number: aprn3042932 for her services. It took me repeated phone calls to finally hear from the person in charge of billing at Ambrosia, Cindy Sicard, 561-545-1086, csicard@ambrosiatc.com Her callous response to me was that I should have check the EOB!  I NEVER RECEIVED A BILL FROM AMBROSIA IN THOSE TWO YEARS VIA EMAIL OR USPS. Telling people to check the EOB is an unacceptable, unethical way to treat people who were seeking mental health treatment. I should have received bills either electronically or via USPS, which is what most medical practices do.  Apparently she was out of my insurance company's network. At  the time, no one at Ambrosia told me she was out of network. Had I been notified that she was out of network, I never would have agreed to see her.  This is unethical, unscrupulous, dishonest and money grabbing behavior. It is taking advantage of people at their most vulnerable time. Even if I signed something, this was taking advantage of people in a very vulnerable circumstance. I believe it falls under the No Surprises Act of 2022.

The aides, housekeeping staff, and nurses & most of the therapy staff are more professional than the administrative staff. However, lower level staff can only be as professional as the training and resources allow. For example, if the staff has to be in the dining room assisting residents who dine there that means without adequate staff, the patients who need the most care in their rooms will not get there calls for help answered. The hallways will be deserted. When you get that call from your loved one that they've been waiting 20 minutes for help. The administrative staff consists of a director, an executive director who did not respond to phone messages until corporate office was contacted, a Case Manager who says she's there to help however imo she's there to help the administration. Staff including Director, Case Manager, some therapy staff need training on HIPAA laws so that when a resident says they want/need family/friend to help make decision decisions, their mistaken or intentional response should not be you are competent & can make your own decisions & not act inappropriately to block family advocating for patient who objects to improper staff behavior. The director of therapy is a speech therapist although they say there's a physiatrist there was none. The billing department person did not respond to a request for a itemized list of charges that would be submitted to the insurance company. Don't expect to get any or much service if you're if you're in your room during meal . In the room my loved one was in , the call button is that is a push button at the end of the cord. It's like the end of a window blind cord with the actual button that you need to press at the bottom so difficult for the patient will know they properly pushed it . Patient doesn't know whether it's working or not and nobody is showing up .The light that indicates it's on is on the wall behind their head and that they are medically unable to turn around they will never know if by push pushing the button someone heard their call for help. Until a complaint was registered with the state, I didn't even realize that they have a intercom system where someone should be coming on and saying "can I help you? How can I help you?" imagine if there was an emergency and you're waiting 20 minutes without assurance that they heard you ? Only after addressing this concern with the agency for healthcare administration, did this system start to be used however, still it was only used when someone was staffing the nursing station to specifically answer those calls . Impossible to reach the facility doctor that automatically is assigned to see patients there. In addition to being able to address medical concerns about your loved one , it's important Important because you need to know what he's gonna say about patient's discharge if anything. During an appeal process it's best to get your own doctors to support your discharge concerns, if you feel your loved one is being told that Medicare won't pay for any further therapy or nursing. Know your rights involving right of family members to be consulted. If patient gives permission they will try to claim the HIPAA does not allow it even if the patient wants it. Make sure you get access to the electronic records portal immediately. The admissions folder does not contain information on where you can contact someone if you have a complaint or concern outside of the facility. Make sure you monitor for accuracy in patient's progress, especially in therapy . Ask for therapy notes every week because you won't find them in the patient's portal . Know your discharge rights. If you have a grievance and it is not responded to timely, go directly to the corporate office if you experience a problem that is not resolved by the staff on the premises. https://www.lifespacecommunities.com/contact/ The brochure that the sales person hands you when you visit the facility in advance of putting your loved one thereIt's connected to a retirement community where they will send the residents to their Skilled Nursing Facility. Lots of them are up in age, and they don't seem to have many local if any family members to advocate for them. One such lady who had no family members I could not leave her room independently was asking for her missing phone repeatedly for a week, yet it does not appear. Anyone made an attempt to locate it. The admissions package claims says facility has a physiatrist it didn't. Facility admits non Waterford apts residents from hospitals. Nursing Director put false information into patient's chart about family member. So make sure you go into the electronic record frequently and read the notes. If you try to address, legitimate concerns they will try to make you look like the problem.

This method of realignment is by no means a slow process. I saw results immediately in my first visit in an hour. The therapists here are truly gifted as they have to assess your problem areas and offer exercises that will best address them. Shawn and Jon are the best. They are clear and encouraging and downright intuitive. I was shocked when I saw my before and after photos. I was standing and walking differently after one session. The exercises aren't rigorous per se, but they are a workout, even if you're simply standing or sitting. I refer to it as a gym for your spine. I don't know of anything else that is similar. After you get a customized list of exercises, it's your job to do them at home. The therapy really only works as much as you are willing to do the exercises. I gave it about 7 sessions and my problems were completely gone. After that they extend continued support to offer different and more challenging exercises to for your particular issue. At least, that was my experience. When I need re-grooving, I can just give a call and I'm on the schedule. If I take a long drive or know my back might be in a stressed environment, I have tools (my exercises) to get me through the activity without pain. I love that my back issues are in my own hands, so to speak. I noticed Tony Robbins includes daily Egoscue in his life and if it works for someone like that who is constantly on his feet, it can work for anyone.
