Turns out that he is a Southampton Town police officer and an Eastport firefighter! So he pushed the car onto a side street. Then I called AAA. I had to wait a long, long time--almost two hours, as it got dark, but then AAA called, and I got a text saying the tow truck was on its way. Joshua was WONDERFUL!! A genuinely nice man. He had had a very long day, but was cheerful, professional, and very kind. I am very appreciative of the service he provided. It was late, and he could not have been nicer. I hope that I don't need any more tows any time soon, but if I do, I hope that Joshua comes and rescues me. The tow was covered by AAA, so i don't know what it would have cost.
