There is a wonderful, caring team here waiting for you. No, really. I was very hesitant in the…read morebeginning, too. I didn't see myself driving somewhere five days per week to get treatment. However, I wanted to get better. So, I decided to do TMS with A New Era based on two things: 1) how friendly they made the insurance review process (they made sure my eval, etc. would be covered before we scheduled any appointments, and did so quickly), and 2) the personable reviews I read about the team and the overall process here on Yelp. I can honestly say that while the experience of depression is difficult, what made this time better was having the support of the A New Era team, especially Sydney, Erica, and Tameka. I felt seen and cared for throughout the process. They are skilled, supportive, kind, and motivated to help you restore quality of life. The team was very understanding with my schedule, and worked with me so that I could fit all of my sessions in. The decision of how you will address depression is a personal one, but I encourage you to explore TMS as an option.

I have used them as a provider for four months, but I'm breaking up with them today…read more 1. They were nice enough in my first visit, but scheduled my appointment with a doctor who told me during our visit that he was quitting. Why would they place a new patient with a therapist who was leaving? 2. They are incessant about their TMS option. When I told them that the approximate $4,000 (!!!) cost was way out of my price range, they "discounted" it down to $1,000 magically, and repeatedly called me to schedule an appointment, even though I told them that was still too expensive at this time. 3. They have required a monthly visit the first four months, even though I was seeing my previous therapist once every six months for a condition I've had under control for 4+ years. 4. On this last visit, I was told by the provider that it would be two months until my next visit, and wrote me a prescription for 60-days instead of 30-days. 5. I was randomly assigned an appointment for today, one month after my last appointment. I did not schedule it, I did not ask for it. 6. Their office charged me $75 for a no-show appointment this morning. 7. The front desk receptionist, who obviously hates her job, told me that I was wrong about my appointment date, the follow-up date, and had no response when I asked why I would be scheduled for a 30-day check-in when my therapist wrote me a 60-day prescription. Seems to me like one of those groups that is taking advantage of the mental health provider shortage by treating their patients like cattle, nickel and diming them along the way. I've already opened a credit card dispute, but wanted to hop on here to warn everyone that this may be a good short-term solution if you are in desperate need of an appointment immediately, but find a solid practice with ethics and morals for the long-term.

Dr. Ananth gave me two referrals that I was very desperate for, and I greatly appreciate that! They were referrals for treatments that they do not do in that office and are pretty extreme. He said he wanted me to exhaust all other options before giving me referrals to those two treatments. I did exhaust all other options, so he did finally give me those two referrals. Again, I'm very grateful to him for doing that because I don't think I would've been able to pursue those treatments without his referral or a referral by another psychiatrist. One thing that bothers me a lot, though, is that, instead of being offered Spravato, which is covered by my insurance, I could only do IV ketamine there. I don't know why they didn't offer Sp I experienced zero effect until my sixth treatment. Cash pay at that time for me was extremely expensive (about $600 per session). So, the first $3000 worth of IV Ketamine treatment was completely ineffective for me.
