The Torrance office lost me as a patient because the administration staff is negligent. Ignored pharmacy refill request multiple times , no call backs not even the text message systems they use were responding. Was there about a year and seemed like once I started feeling better they still wanted to schedule me monthly. I was never on any benzos so honestly I'd avoid this office. Feels like they want to generate multiple office visits more than needed. Went back to my general practitioner. They also try really hard to push that TMS treatment after I denied it multiple times . More money for them to push that. Office staff is the reason people leave this place. read more

Sadly, after 2 years my experience has changed dramatically for the worse. I am a registered nurse of 30+ years and well versed in medications and mental health. The Nurse Practioner is wonderful, BUT...BIG BUT, Dr Faynboym who is the director is extremely, EXTREMELY conservative. I am currently trying to wean from a medication which has thrown me into severe withdrawals. (I am following all the guidelines by my Practioner for coming off this med safely) I have developed akathisia; Horrendous drive to move my body constantly. I haven't slept in FOUR DAYS! I jerk awake after a few minutes. I have had multiple appointments this week just to BEG for help. I have asked for a limited amount medication for my intense anxiety and insomnia. I was told no for my sleep meds. I was given a poor 4 sub-theraputic dosage pills for anxiety. They did not help. My NP was very apologetic, but his hands were tied due to Dr F. I have tried other medications for sleep that did not work. I needed 5 sleeping pills. FIVE, Just to not lose my sanity. So I was told to take Benadryl. It has never helped me. I cried after getting off the phone. No help and no care for a struggling patient that is trying to improve. I am currently looking for another doctor to manage my care. I will never return to NeuroWellness. read more

This is a comment on Neuro Wellness , not specifically the Torrance office. Based on my experience (Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, the Valley), I don't think this organiztion is equipped to provide realistic, patient-centered mental health care. After two months of intake--lots of emails, calls, and a doctor's appointment--I was finally scheduled for their sleep clinic a month out. But when I needed to reschedule--because my three friends' health and schedules finally aligned, allowing me to travel and support them during cancer treatment--I was told Neuro Wellness doesn't allow rescheduling, only cancellation. No exceptions. I'd have to start over with a new provider, despite giving several weeks notice and having completed all the prep in good faith. So now I'm back to square one looking for another provider. "Spa" in the name is inappropriate -- they treat people with life-threatening illnesses and there's been nothing spa-like about my experience. It's been the opposite -- drawn out, frustrating, confusing, and with little regard for the patient experience. I was referred from office to office -- one assistant booked the initial appointment for a doctor but then I was supposed to call another assistant after that -- it's not the streamlined one-stop neuro wellness shop the name suggests. The whole thing was a serious fail on the part of Neuro Wellness Spa. They delayed me getting care and now I have to start over searching for other practitioners. This is no reflection on Monique, who has been an excellent practitioner. read more

I found Neuro Wellness Spa through psychologytoday.com, where I found Nick! So glad I went here. It's like I found my people. They just get mental illness so well. They not only understand it medically, but personally too. Everyone is so nice. Jasmine is my favorite TMS tech. She makes the time fly. Not gonna lie, for me it's disappointing when she calls in sick. I look forward to chatting with her. She makes TMS fun. I did two rounds of TMS which truly helped with my anxiety. I was at the dentist today, and I had no anxiety last night, this morning, and during dental work. My dentist said, "you're unbelievably calm today." I didn't even think to yell at him, "don't hurt me." Needless to say, the treatments are very effective. I highly recommend this place. Glad to be a patient there. read more

Nuerowellness spa back in 2023 when i first was introduced to Dr. Faynboyn at one point in time i would have given this place 4 star review due solely to hearing about TMS treatment and I will say that the Droctor is quiet knowledgeable and did help me navigate through an assortment of medication that best fit for me. The shift in when i noticed that Dr. Faynboyn was no longer professional was when he decided to tell me i was making up my aversive reaction to a medication called Lamictal.. He said there was no way I could have gotten that side effect because it was rare. I did not once tell him he was wrong just that i don't like the way this medication is making me feel. I got a second opinion and 3rd opinion one from an urgent care physician and one from a dermatologist. I was right, and he made me feel like I was a crazy person. He somehow felt threaten and thought i was going to sue him or something because he panicked and said no way and started to be rude to me. Which I thought was odd because i looked up to him and thought he was great and understanding. I was also doing and intensive outpatient program where i was seeing another psychiatrist, and swayed away from Dr. Faynboyn and saw her instead. She was amazing. After i finished my program I went back to Nuerowellness spa and continued with another Physician Dr. Quy Pham who was great and I was able to fade of my medication a year later. Everything from there went well. Mind you this is in 2023. Fast forward to today, in December i had a really bad Panic attack and was sent to the ER... My mom tried reaching out and spoke to Roxanna and she mentioned that she would get back to my mom to set up an appointment. This is was a couple weeks away from Christmas, mom waitied for her to return her call and she NEVER did. We come to find out that the week of Christmas i decide to reach out and we find out she is out for the week. Mind you i had no problems with Roxanna before in 2023, we got along great i looked forward to seeing her.. I was appalled I spoke to i believe Jasmine or the girl working in the office at the time she was the the office staff but maybe a Physician but spoke with me and apologized about that and mentioned that someone from long beach would be reaching out because he is covering for Roxanna.. I waitied a whole day and i did not bug because i understand that it is the holidays. I too and my mom work in the health field and admin so we know how busy it can get. I has been two full days now and i do not hear anything. I call again and speak with an intake specialist I believe her name was Sydney and she mentioned that she would call the Long beach office and was sorry about this whole situation. I get a call back and she then tells me that i am not fit to be seen by them and i was flabbergasted i asked why? and she said she wasn't sure but that they recommended i see another psychiatry place.. I was shocked because i ended well with Dr. Quy Pham that I graduated out from support with no longer taking medication for a Year. I was doing really well up until december where my anxiety was up the roof and i had been admitted to the ER. My mom was trying to get ahold of them before things got worse for me and we did not hear back. It is quiet unprofessional and dissappointing as getting help has always been hard in the mental health field. I really needed them and they were no where to be fond. So they really need to take a look at how they handle situations and really take a look at why are they in this field. This population is quite vulnerable and for them to say they care but when someone really needs it they don't do anything about it and let people fend for themselves. Its sad... They will no longer be seeing me or i will no longer recommend anyone to them.. read more

I received care from this facility and I saw one of their NPs (who is no longer there.) Ian was easy to talk to / get ahold of. My issue with this facility is truly how they seem to be obsessed with insurance $$$ and getting you to schedule constantly. I discontinued treatment and had 3 messages and 2 letters in the mail asking for me to come back. During my treatment it was CONSTANT asking me to book... the "let's see you back here in 5 days" 5 days for WHAT? I've been on this med for 6 months?? lol. And God forbid you bring up a new symptom during an appointment because then you have to book another visit to discuss that. Would I go back? No, it seems slimy. read more

Not the best - although it was covered by my insurance. My Nurse Practitioner listened but spent time googling answers to my questions about medicines and interactions which I found a little disturbing. In addition, nothing was ever addressed with me during the appointments about my condition, only medicines being prescribed. At the end of the day, my issue was due to an incorrect diagnosis from the hospital (not Neuro Wellness) as I suspected and once I got off all the medications, I was fine. read more

Neurowellness has been a wonderful experience, from my child seeing a psychiatrist through their Clear Behavioral program to me getting TMS treatment. TMS has been truly helpful in getting me out of my depressive funk, but also, the bedside manner from the Torrance office is what made it so much easier to get me through it. Kristin, Serenitee, Raquel, and Roxy are just the best! They are always kind, willing to help with scheduling, answer any questions you may have about your treatment, and are fantastic to talk to during your sessions! Extremely disappointed with the billing department here. I received services with active, fully satisfied deductible insurance, yet I am being billed for their failure to submit claims within the timely-filing deadline. Attempting to pass the cost of administrative incompetence onto the patient is unacceptable and violates standard billing practices. I'm going to pay the amount since it is only $30, since they keep threatening me with being sent to collections. I never leave reviews, but this one seems worthy. read more

Years prior I had a consultation with a different TMS clinician and team, deciding I wasn't ready. It is a relatively new treatment and understandably I had a lot of questions. It was not until I met Dr. Faynboym that I felt comfortable to truly consider the process of TMS. He is a highly skilled and knowledgeable clinician with many years of experience in different specialties. He brings a lot of helpful insights to our interactions. I never feel judged or embarrassed, which is vital when facing such a stigmatizing condition. Once I arrived for my first session, I met Kristin. Kristin was a breath of fresh air bright and early every morning. TMS is surely a time commitment, but she is dedicated to making things "easier" on her clients. I can't say enough good things about Neuro Wellness Spa and TMS. The team here as been amazing. TMS is a commitment but the staff works with your schedule to get you the help you need. I have had anxiety for a very long time and I was able to manage it with therapy alone. At some point I knew I needed something more. I tried a couple of medication's, but then I tried TMS. The clarity and calmness that has resulted has been life changing. Don't get me wrong I still have anxiety from time to time, but I am able to recognize it and use the skills learned in therapy to process it. I wasn't able to do this before. read more

I had such high hopes for this treatment. I had been battling depression/anxiety for years and numbing it with SSRIs. When I spoke with the Dr initially, He made it seem like it was a no fail treatment and that I would have zero side effects other than irritation in the scalp area. I never once thought or was told that it could worsen my already difficult to deal with symptoms. Ever since completing the 36 sessions, the depressive symptoms and irritability I have experienced have made the day to day much more difficult to handle. The people at this clinic gaslit me into believing that it was something I was doing wrong and took zero responsibility. I keep waiting for my brain to stabilize but it's been weeks since the last treatment and nothing has changed. I wasted time and money doing this treatment and I deeply regret being convinced that this came without substantial side effects. If you are going to do this treatment, make sure you know that it can worsen symptoms. Make sure you ask questions and inform yourself. This clinic seemed more interested in taking the insurance money than truly wanting to help me. They had me wait days for a phone call back when I was struggling and needed them the most. read more

I met Dr Faynboym after Dr Koo stopped seeing patients. He was the worst doctor for psychiatry that i have ever met. Dr. Koo would see me every 90 days for years. Dr. Faynbohm treated me like a criminal immediately after he found that Dr. koo had prescribed adderall for energy. Not for any illicit purposes as dr faynboym had eluded to. I barely took 1-2 per week. He insisted i be monitored every 30 days specifically for adderall after years of working with Dr. koo every 90 days. I had other prescriptions. . I had been prescribed this for years from both Dr. koo and my previous Dr in another state who initially prescribed it without any issues. He was a complete jerk to be in the room with for anything else.i hated his ill manner. I was desperate to find s new doctor. I contacted dr. Koo to let her know my frustration and the first time in my relationship with her she blew me off. It was our last conversation ever. Before i left the terrible Dr. Faynbohm i told him i no longer wanted a refill for adderall he said congratulations for kicking your habit. Very rude and untrue. I also want to say it was very unprofessional of him to try sell TMS services that were unwarranted. read more

The staff here are wonderful! Dr. Faynboym, Dr. Pham, Kristin, Cristal, and Roxy were all kind and was a pleasure to talk to. I was initially afraid of getting TMS since it is a relatively new form of treatment, but the staff made sure I was comfortable and explained any aspects of the treatment that I didn't understand. Most importantly, my symptoms for depression and anxiety have been greatly reduced to a level that I haven't felt in years. I started using Neuro Wellness Spa several months ago. Nurse practitioner Ian was helping me. He did a great job but left the facility recently. I was assigned a new nurse practitioner that is out of network with my insurance. When I explained to the office staff the problem they argued with me saying the nurse practitioner is in network despite what my insurance told me. They have 3 other nurse practitioners that are in network for my insurance but they refused to accommodate my request. Time was passing. A month goes by despite my calling and leaving messages reexplaining my problem. Additionally I told more than one staff member I was running out of medication on 2 different occasions. Nobody cared to address that at all. I was flat out ignored. This is how a mental health facility treats patients? I suffer from depression and anxiety and what they did is not right. Are they not even concerned if I do run out of medication what my mental state could be? This facility is a big disappointment and needs to get their act together. Out of desperation I was forced to see my primary doctor and explained the situation and now he is prescribing me the mental health medications I need. read more

Hands down the greatest!! I was deep in the worst case of PPD/PPA and struggling. This place saved me!! Kristin... can't say enough wonderful things about this incredible human. She is always willing to work with me, her compassion is pure, she made this experience tolerable. I had a great experience here at Neuro Wellness Spa! I have had mixed experiences with various medications and I was surprised with how quickly I noticed a difference after trying TMS. My irritability went from 9 to 2 by the end of treatment (out of 10) and I suddenly felt motivated to do more than the bare minimum. The range of my emotions seemed to expand after a month of treatment so that I felt some of the heavier emotions I'd been avoiding, and the lighter emotions were brighter (I could better feel the love I felt for my family as a physical thing rather than a mental status). The technicians here are great! Super accommodating and personable. The psychiatrists are also great. I felt like my concerns and questions were empathically and thoroughly addressed. This review is for the South Torrance location. I had an exceptional experience once my initial appointment was made. I say this because the initial contact with Neurowellness Spa did not go smoothly. When you first call as a new patient, I believe you are in contact with a central call center. The schedulers had scheduled me incorrectly twice. This is not a good experience for someone suffering from depression. I almost gave up on making an appointment because of the 2 mis-scheduled appointments which was taking up to 2 months to schedule and reschedule. When I expressed how frustrating this was, Dr Faynboym's assistant called me right away to help get me in ASAP for a consult. She was extremely kind and helpful. Once I finally got in for a consult, I felt welcomed and understood by Dr. Faynboym and the staff. They genuinely wanted to help me. They handled all my insurance paperwork quickly. The therapy sessions yielded major improvements in my well-being. The in-office staff communicates promptly during your 6 week round of treatment. I highly recommend Neurowellness Spa to anyone seeking TMS therapy. Just advocate for yourself while making that initial consult if you are not being scheduled properly. read more

I just completed my 18-week TMS treatment. Let me just say, that I am so glad that I was open and willing to try this treatment for my depression. Before TMS, I was always tired in the middle of the day and wanted to take naps. I no longer need naps. My sleep is great and I have more energy throughout the day. I was lacking motivation before treatment and this has greatly improved. Yes, I work on myself everyday, such as exercise along with other forms of self care. This treatment got me out of my funk" and I believe my brain is functioning at a better capacity. It was a subtle improvement but I feel as though I am not working as hard as I had to before. My treatment team, Raquel, Kristen, Dr.F and Ian, are phenomenal human beings. Raquel and Kristen listened to me on a daily basis and I talked to them about so many things going on in my life.
