We stopped here for lunch while visiting Antelope Valley college. This place has a large variety of donuts, plus sandwiches, and even burgers with donut buns....unique. Hubby and I ordered French dip sandwiches. The meat was tender and tasty, and the bun was fresh. My only complaint about the food was that the au jus was EXTREMELY salty, which ruined the French dip experience. The sandwich was acceptable, but the LONG wait to get it was NOT. We had waited over 30 minutes while several other people came in, ordered and left with their food. Finally, we asked when our food was coming, and they acted like they had no idea what they were talking about. We bought 3 sandwiches, donuts and drinks. We'd paid over $39 for what we ordered! After we complained, we waited another 10-15 minutes before we finally got our food....the folks are nice but we'll probably not be back. read more

Today this place is getting a single star.. Why? Service. The lady thats behind the counter at 7am this morning seemed a bit too busy talking to a person that's having coffe and seemed like I was a bother. When I've been here before the gentleman that's here earlier like 5am is always helpful and happy. I'm not sure if the management has changed because of all the changes in the shop but she is doing a dis-service to the business. Disappointed because this is my go to place in Lancaster. Love this place!! I try to bring my kid every Friday for donuts. They have a big selection. And so many other items that aren't just donuts. I love their banana donut type thing. And their 13 donut holes for $1.75. Just this last time I had something (can't remember the name) that was in a round flaky shell filled with raspberry filling sprinkled with powder sugar! So good!! Very good fish and fries at a decent price. I had the 2 piece with fries and it was around $9 with tax. The donuts looked awesome and I definitely will be trying them soon. Food was delish. Very very greasy but it was still good. The 4 star is because it was very clean when we went in but service was decent and again the food was Good. We bought my son some donut holes and he said they were really good. Great variety of desserts here and big variety of food. Stopped by today always wanted to see a seafood and donut shop lol. I ordered the special from the sign it was two pieces of fish and chips with coleslaw or a choice of fried zucchini. I went with the slaw for a total of $9.60 , I was surprised they had decent fish and chips. I just need to find out what type of fish I ate. It was delicious and had a good batter the malt vinegar really brought out the flavor. So I recommend the fish and chips. read more

Returning to review after leaving questionable review a few weeks ago. Everything was great, but was concerned about container of tarter sauce left out when I arrived. More than a bit concerned about tarter sauce sitting on a table all day, (I arrived at 3:20 PM on a very hot day). I think they only bring it out when people eat in and order fish. Not my first time here and definitely not my last. Love this place. Tonight I got the Fish, Chips and Jumbo Shrimp. My son got the Western Burger Combo. My son rates every place by their Western Burger. He says this is the BEST. The fish and chip were awesome. The jumbo shrimp... huge and delicious. Sandwiches here are to die for. Been there several times because we like fish occasionally....we had a problem in the beginning by one of the employees. The owner seems to have corrected it. However, after returning several times, the quality of food does not make up for the lack of greeting customers with professional manners and respect. Not only is the owner rude, but his two elderly Mexican assistants are rude as well. We do not want to be their friend, but we want to be treated fairly, since we spend our hard-earned money at their establishment. We will not be returning and conducting our business at a place where we our business is valued and appreciated! read more

This place was formerly known as Donuts and Cakes. It is now The Fish Shack & Donuts. Ate here last night. The Fish and Chips were incredible!!!!! The fish was large and not greasy at all. Great flavor. We could actually taste the fish and not the oil. The fries were perfect. Also had fried zucchini and was blown away!!! Not greasy at all and the zucchini was not soggy. Tasted like it had just come out of the garden. We ate out on the patio (approximately 6 tables). They brought a basket with bottles of tartar sauce, Louisiana sauce, ranch sauce. Normally at a fish and chips place, they just give you two small cups of sauce and you have to pay for more. My wife and I were very impressed. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. No attempts to "up-sell". Owner bought the equipment from the H Salt that closed next door and started serving fish. We will be back here for sure. This is some of the best fish I have ever had. Got the Fish & Chips with okra. The food was good send a good quantity for the price.

We were dubious because they also sell fish and chips out of the same place but these donuts were fabulous. The coffee is good too. We had cinnamon rolls, one covered in maple glaze, a chocolate glazed, apple fritter and crumb donut. All were so flaky huge and very tasty. It's freeway close and a great stop on a long car trip for a morning sugar rush. Will definitely be back! read more

I love the IDEA of this place, seafood, donuts, everything is deep fried. Sounds like heaven. If only they would season their food, it would be amazing! Everything I've had from there was mostly tasteless, barely even had salt added to it and I don't understand how someone can feel okay with serving food like this. The donuts were pretty good, neither the best nor the worst I've had around town. One time I ordered the hush puppies and they were frozen in the middle. I really wanted to love this place but it has so much wasted potential. I might even keep checking on it to see if anything's gotten better and keep hoping for improvement. This is a great little find in the Antelope Valley Lancaster California I met the owner Steve and he was a very nice guy and not grumpy at all. The tartar sauce was awesome. I told him that he needs to bottle this stuff and sell it. If anyone is looking for great fish at a reasonable price you've got to come here. read more

Scam...be very careful when dealing with these people. I went and ordered 2 dozen donuts and when I got to work, there was only 11 donuts in each box. They also charge in correctly when you pay for your purchase. The service was also very poor...I should have driven the extra few miles to Krispy Creme. Lesson learned. Stay away! read more

The donuts are average. They fall apart when you pick them up and they are priced average. Haven't tried anything else here but would like to. They also have day old donut boxes which go for $5. One upside is that they are open 24hours. Oh and the maple flavor is very concentrated. read more

I love the donuts here, good variety and very tasty. For the first time last night I ordered from their fish and chips menu. I ordered a seafood combo and mozzarella sticks to go, but when we got home, sadly we didn't have what we ordered. Now, since I don't have an itemized receipt, I'm not sure if I was heard wrong or if they just got my order wrong. We ended up with 2 pieces of fish, chips and zucchini. No mozzarella sticks.
