However we came down with my family this last Sunday afternoon and there was an older woman mid 30s taking our orders for one she took very long two she still messed up our orders and on top of that she had side conversations had our food waiting & they don't give water cups and that is not legal and they can get in trouble for that I will return because I do like the food but I will make a report if the water situation continues because it is the first and only location I've been to that does not give water read more

The restaurant is small and it was hot inside. We went for the 99c fish tacos they have tues/sun. They tacos are good for 99c and have double tortilla. We got some to go as well but asked for everything that goes on them on the side. Overall i would recommend during their specials. They do charge for any extra condiments (salsa,chilis) etc. which makes sense since the tacos are only a dollar. However since we got some to go it was annoying to have to ask and pay for any extras. This review is based on the customer service not the food, I give the fish tacos five stars... I discovered this place last month, since then I been coming here at least once a week alone or with my coworkers. Today My co workers and I stopped by we spent about $31. I asked the cashier if I could have ONE extra salad or if they could add a little more salsa to our tacos because I noticed our tacos had very little salsa on them. The cashier said they could not do that, she said I would have to pay .75 for a cup of salsa. She also refused to give me the managers name or number. I hope the owner reads this review, I encourage him or her to read The $6,000 egg book and share their findings with their employees. I would hate to see this place close down due to lack of customer service. read more

I've been coming ALMOST every Sunday and Tuesday and all I can think about ordering is the fish tacos because they are soooo good I usually get 6 - 8 and sometimes I go twice a day, the fish is sooo good and the sauce they use is a great compliment to the tacos, I also recommend the cabeza, I ordered 3 three tacos de cabeza and was amazed at how good and flavorful the meat was I'll be getting those tacos too. This place has a okay, I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and it had a tangy cabbage inside! It was not good! I think it was the same cabbage they use for fish tacos. Hint: Not Good! This is based on the fish tacos only , just not impressed with their food and business model. The mentality of owner vs customers is in the air and you can sense it . Some places try to be stingy with some of the basic complementary items like limes for example. In a Mexican joint is the thing you use the most and should be offered plenty but within reason. It's not about the items more so about the mentality behind it, i like to chuck it up to inexperience . Most successful places do the opposite but pull back a bit once well established, that ! I wouldn't mind ..... i call that great marketing. I had their fish tacos on a Tuesday for their special, dollar fish taco Tuesday. Small, basic, not much goin on. Sauce was disappointing witch is key for a taco . It was just like Valentina's ugly cousin. The whole point of eating out is having something you can't make better at home . OK so I really decided to try this place because the pictures actually made my mouth water. Especially that spiced yellow pepper!!! I ordered fish taco combo and carne asada burrito for my boyfriend. Thought it was a little weird that it was taco Tuesday and fish tacos were 1.50 each but when I asked for 2 fish tacos and rice and beans, They charged me the full price of 8.95$ So I guess I should have just asked for the fish tacos Ala carte and then the Carne Asada burrito in a combo meal it would've been a lot cheaper. I guess I just figured they would adjust the price for Taco Tuesday, so that kinda bummed me out. BUT the food was DELICIOUS!! The refried beans on the side were a little dull, not so flavorful, BUT I NEEDED this because the Fish Taco was so flavorful and a little bit spicy, ( because I am a wimp) . Loved the rice. I have never written a bad review, but in this situation action was warranted. I have never ate at a restaurant where customer service was not top priority! I went to Fish Tacos Express and ordered posole, I requested very little hominy as I get a reaction when I consume too much corn. (I figured I would pick out the hominy as I have an intolerance not a food allergy) The cashier took my request and nodded in agreement, but I never seen her give my request to the cook/manager/owner. When I received my posole there was very little broth and mostly hominy. I told the cashier that there was mainly hominy in my bowl and I requested more broth than hominy. She explained that the posole comes pre-portioned. I told her then she should have told me that prior to me paying for my order. The cashier called the manager/owner and he acknowledged his cashier was wrong, but he refused to refund my money or replace my order with something else. Terrible customer service. I literally just paid for something I couldn't eat. The issue here is that I made a request and if it couldn't be met then the cashier should have notified me at that moment. Instead she took my payment and failed to disclose details. Per other Fish Tacos Express YELP reviews this is common practice here. Consumers make special requests and employees fail to deliver. Then, they refuse to refund or exchange order. Misleading consumers in this manner is borderline robbery. read more

Don't be discouraged by its location in a shitty plaza. Really great first visit--I came in on Taco Tuesday, when fish tacos are 99c each. I also ordered an asada sope because you need to spend a minimum of $8 to pay with debit/credit card. Have been to this location twice each time on a weekend The cook was very nice introduced himself and the food Is really really good, The concern I have is the lady who takes orders , has the condiments and such behind the counter she seems to be very controlling of them , last time I asked for salsa And she looked at me oddly that was the first visit On the second visit same thing happened I asked for for chips (which is complimentary in most establishments she said you have the tostado shells with your ceviche, I thought wow really, it gets better I asked her for salsa She said it's in the 5 tacos and carne Asada burrito...
