Mexican food and holes in the wall go together like peanut butter and jelly. The less fancy, the better to be honest. My coworker told me about this cash only establishment when we were in the area so yeah of course I'm in. Located in a strip mall, Tacos El Chuleton is a place I've passed many times without knowing it was there. Inside it's not much more fancy than outside. Sure there's a hand painted mural on the far wall but the limited seating are tables and seats made of granite. That said you can see right into the kitchen if you want to. The food itself is delicious and the prices are really good. They have a salsa bar where you can grab your own salsas, onions and cilantro etc if you like. I got the wet burrito and it put me into a food coma. If I was in the area I'd go to Tacos El Chuleton more often. Was excited to try this place for the first and last time. The cooks went out of order and didn't cook my food until I asked. I watched the cook overcook my tortilla as he left them on the grill to harden. When I asked him for a new tortilla, he obviously got offended and decided to make me wait longer. No problem--if a grown man can't handle his emotions and needs to throw a fit, I'm okay with it. But the issue is when he finally decided to get his act together, he wanted to be sarcastic and undercook my tortilla, then sarcastically asked if it was good enough. Again, a grown man who can't regulate his feelings. I agreed and said it was fine, because the joke's on him--I can heat up my burrito! Sarcastically, he asked if I wanted each ingredient in the burrito. Rice? Beans? I told him to just make it right! When it came to cheese, he wanted to challenge me because the lady didn't write cheese on the ticket. Mind you, a grown man throwing a fit. I immediately asked for my money back. Was not even going to play his game. Not only that, the workers were wearing no gloves, and I watched them walk back and forth to the back without washing their hands once. Very disgusting. The only thing I suggest is that the carne asada be crisped up a little more and not chopped so much sometimes I think they're carnitas instead of carne asada ...
