Couldn't have gone better. Scott and his mate took my 10 yr old son, 11 and 13 year old nephews, and my babysitter. They had an amazing time, and did not once complain about getting up and out the door by 5:15 AM during summer vacation! I can vouch for the size of the fish, as tons came back home for grilling. I'm so happy they filleted it for them. Not something in my skill set... The boys all told great stories about their half day adventure. They clearly loved it and were very comfortable aboard the boat. They said they had help when they needed it but learned a lot too about fishing for "big fish" versus the small ones off our cove on the Cape. Scott's responsiveness surpassed my expectations and the booking process was a dream! It's not often that you go out on a charter and everyone on the boat, including the captain, comes back saying it was the best fishing trip of their lives. Captain Scott's excitement for fishing, knowledge of the sport and attention to his guests makes for a truly great day on the water. Captain Scott met us at our car with a wheelbarrow to carry our stuff, had a cooler full of ice and drinks available when we got on board, and even catered to our two sea sick prone passengers by taking the smoothest path out to sea and checking in with us frequently. After we set up our chum slick, Scott took time explaining each step of the process to us and describing the action happening around, and underneath us on the boat. Just as he said, the sharks took the bait (literally) and we not only caught two blue sharks, we snagged a rare thresher shark after waiting about an hour for it to get to the boat and were rewarded with some unbelievably yummy shark meat to take home! It was a day we'll never forget aboard the Fishing Frenzy. I would highly recommend this company for a fishing charter in the Boston area. Holy cow what a great day. I just moved to Boston a couple months ago and had two friends visiting from Colorado and Minnesota. None of us had ever been off shore fishing before. We were hopeful for an exciting day but had no idea how great it would be. Captain Scott and his first mate Mike were awesome and made the day and an awesome experience. We were hopeful for a day of tuna fishing but after a couple of hours with no action for us or over the radio, Scott advised us to consider changing plans to shark fishing. Great call Captain. Before too long, at about 18 miles offshore, we were in for the most exciting hour+ long fight we could hope for complete with an awesome display from some playful humpback whales and a full shark breach 6 feet out of the water. Full on shark week footage type stuff. A truly great day highlighted by my buddy and I tag-team reeling in a 350 lb. 7 foot male Mako shark. Needless to say we were incredibly stoked! Without hesitation, if you are here on Yelp looking for a charter company then stop looking, I advise all of you to choose Captain Scott and Fishing Frenzy for your next adventure. read more

Had a great time on Fishing Frenzy! They are conveniently out of Constitution Marina in Charlestown - really easy to get to from Boston. Captain Scott can spot a stripper from a mile away. He was dedicated to finding fish and very knowledgable about the area. He was also willing to fillet our catch! The boat was great - plenty of room for coolers of beer and snacks! Given the conditions and the lack of live bait, which other boats were wasting time chasing to no avail. Cpt Scott made the call to just troll. Such a great experience! I went as a group of 6, which was a bit tight-- but Scott had warned us about that beforehand. Scott and Mike were amazing and knew exactly where to take us, and kept us informed, trained, and entertained. They clearly know their stuff, and as it was our first fishing trip on a boat like this, we couldn't be happier with the experience. Scott was very responsive as well-- I had bought a gift certificate in January, and working with Scott decided on a trip the first weekend of June. He kept me informed of weather/water conditions, what kind of fish were available, etc. We caught haddock, flounder, and mackerel, plenty for us to keep and eat over the next few months. This is the charter for you. I do not give many reviews on any social posting unless they deserve your review. I only post those that I think should be in the top 5% of what they do. Captain Scott and his first mate, Brian, were waiting for us 30 minutes before our 5am departure. We left early and had no problem catching about 20 mackerel as baitfish whereas others had major issues. At the end of the day, we didn't land a fish...came close though with a bass that ripped out the hook ten feet from the boat. My buddy and I went home disappointed because we are very competitive BUT wanting to come back to the Fishing Frenzy for no other reason but because these guys gave their all in trying to get us hooked up. They call it fishing, not catching. After the first lost fish, they went into action doubling the lines in the water. The Captain and Mate continued to search for signs of fish with birds, etc never giving up. I have taken out about fifteen charters in my lifetime from Naples and Pensacola, Florida, through the Chesapeake Bay, up to Boston, Massachusetts...not a whole lot...I'm a big fly fisherman...These guys worked hard to get a fish for us on deck. It was a sporadic morning for every fisherman out there. It was very slow as I heard over the radio. As we were the first out there, they worked closely with other boats to share bait fish knowledge and as the morning progressed to get any Intel on whether the fish were biting. They are team players in the area. The fish just weren't out there this morning. My advice is to call these guys for business...I say this even if it means it will be harder for me to secure a future reservation. I owe you that. They deserve that. read more
