Fishtown Pharmacy is Amazing! I switched from a big box pharmacy probably around 5 years ago after having a cab driver talk about switching to a local pharmacy because of the "games" big box pharmacies play ie) telling you to take two OTC pills vs actually filling your prescription. I have been so happy with the switch. Prescriptions are availble super quick. We also get our flu and COVID vaccines here and it's always been wonderful. read more

I came here for my COVID booster shot in Dec 21. It was very very easy! I arrived around 3pm and there was no one waiting. Walked right in, gave them my paperwork and got my shot. They were offering Moderna. The pharmacist giving the shot was friendly and very gentle. If I need to get any more boosters I will make it my plan to stop back at Fishtown Pharmacy. read more

Getting a prescription filled seems more difficult each year with eh chain drug stores getting more picky about insurance, the long lines and the overall supermarket feel of it... I soent my whole life going to big national brand pharmacies after developing those habits as a kid and one day got sick of how poorly I repeatedly got treated there - Fishtown Pharmacy is the complete opposite. I didn't know pharmacies could be so customer focused! Brady was like my babies medical agent, helping track down prescriptions and solve issues with my insurance. In short, we basically ended up getting very much needed meds for my 3 month old in 1 day for a price that was doable as opposed to waiting 4 days for my insurance to review a preauthorization or pay over $500 for a 1 month supply. When you have a baby that can't eat or sleep because of pain (literally, we were coming off 3 days of hell), being able to find a reasonable solution to help him is like winning the lottery. It really was about as clutch as it gets, and it wouldn't have happened if Brady hadn't taken it upon himself to be proactive and take extra steps. Best yet, when I told him how awesome he was he was like "yeah man, thanks." A nonchalant super pharmacist right there :) read more

I went to this pharmacy with my mother after lunch today to get some allergy medicine since I suffer from horrible seasonal allergies and today was the first nice day of spring! When I walked up the steps, a man walking out carrying a bunch of things told me he'd actually just closed up and asked what we needed. He told us he was the owner and could go back in and help us. He had to unlock the door and turn off the alarm and did so just to help us! It was only $5 for a 30 day supply of Zyrtec. Customer service was A+ and very kind. I am a Fishtown resident and will be taking my regular business here. This is the kind of Pharmacy you want to go to as opposed to the massive chains. Chris, the owner of this pharmacy used to work at Shop Rite and I was a customer of his for years. When he left, I continued using Shop Rite for a while, but it seemed every time I went to Shoprite's pharmacy, I got a different pharmacist or pharmacy tech that I didn't know and who couldn't tell one customer from another. The only reason I didn't go straight to Fishtown when Chris first opened, is because I liked the convenience of picking up meds at the supermarket, but Chris had that covered. Not only does Fishtown Pharmacy deliver, but every time I've gone there in person to get prescriptions filled, I've never waited more than five minutes. When I have to pay for a script out of pocket, Chris always gives the best prices, and he'll go out of his way to track down your doctor to get refills, or to double check with a doctor who has written a script that may react with other meds. He's also waited for me when I got stuck in traffic and he was due to close. You don't get that kind of customer service from big chain pharmacies. His staff are as friendly as he is and they all greet you with a smile and call you by name. I've got no plans to ever go to another pharmacy, especially the big ones, like Rite Aid and CVS, where you need to take a Rosetta Stone course to understand whatever language the pharmacist is speaking, and you've got the time to finish the Rosetta Stone course while your waiting. Last time I got something filled at a Rite Aid, they told me to come back in five hours to pick it up. read more

Attentive, responsible and nice, always personal and helpful. They can get the same medicine at the same speed and comparable pricing as the big guys. They helped me find a brand new generic drug ($15) to replace a brand name ($200, for which they found a $40 coupon) when all the big pharmacies said this drug is not yet available. They also follow up with phone calls. At the end of the day I don't need the crazy generic selections of the big guys but a pharmacist that has a relationship with my family and advocates for our wellbeing while assuring we don't overspend. There is something to be said about a local, community-forward pharmacy--- it's like coming home. Even after a year of not needing a prescription, Kris, the modern day apothecary, doesn't seem the bit unsure of what "patient" was on the other end of the telephone line. My script photo is emailed over and ready for pick-up in less than 5minutes. While it would be incredibly flattering if this was individualized attention-he formulates and dispenses materia medica to each customer by name. The doom and gloom of monopoly pharmacy is lost here. Above and beyond what I dreamed a pharmacy could be. The kindness and compassion I've met there is truly moving.

I've reviewed the pharmacy before, when it first opened, but wanted to write more... I've been a loyal customer since the pharmacy opened and can say it's only gotten better. Recently, after a very drawn-out pet illness and back-and-forth with the vet over medicine, Fishtown Pharmacy told me they could not only compound the pills the vet prescribed for our cat, but that the liquid costs about half as much and can be made tuna flavored. We have to give our cat this medicine twice a day, and if anyone's been in that boat, you know it's miserable. But she loves her tuna flavored meds and we can walk around the corner to get them instead of driving to the vet or specialty pharmacy. Love this place! read more

In the short period I have dealt with Kris, he has been very helpful, professional, and gone above and beyond what i would expect of a pharmacist. I came from another small pharmacy in my old neighborhood (Ellis Pharmacy near Fairmount) and was worried I'd lose the charm of knowing the people there (and vice versa).
