One thing that really stands out is how attentive the staff is...they're constantly walking around cleaning the floors and wiping down the equipment...which makes the whole place feel well-maintained and welcoming...the members here are also respectful and patient...which adds to the positive vibe. Parking is plentiful and easy...which is always a plus...sure...I could go to one of the bigger...flashier gyms...but this location is close to my home and has everything I need without the hassle...simple...clean...and efficient...I'm glad I chose this gym.

However, to even get someone to help me was a very scary experience. I would say to the people behind the country, I would like to tan, and they would just stare at their phones and ignore me. After several attempts to ask if there was a clean bed, someone with sunglasses on at night would just hand me the cleaning fluid and paper towels. I would then clean it, and also when I was finished, and tell them up front, but no one cared. I told her, I think her name was Merna, the manager, and she would just call me a paranoid white lady, laughing. The rules for no phones or backpacks did not apply to anyone not white. I was told to get off my phone in the safe area over and over while the entire gym was on their phones. I was looking at the new Kingwood location and learned from reviews that it's the same management team and owners. I found another gym. They are just a huge clique.

Here, the gym is open 24 hours and it's not wall to wall freaking busy. I'm always able to find a cardio machine or weight machine, no problem. I'm even able to have a cardio machine or two between another patron, because let's be honest, who wants to really work out RIGHT NEXT to someone else? I certainly do not. This gym is also always clean. I haven't noticed old, dirty paper towels on the ground and everyone here is super respectful of each other. So far, I have yet to see no one finishing their workout, without wiping down the equipment with disinfectant. I also appreciate that Planet Fitness is a gym that is super welcoming to a noob, such as myself. No intimidating gym personalities, hogging up equipment or standing in front of mirrors flexing. People of all shapes and sizes are here, some starting their fitness journeys as well. In all, I'm absolutely happy that I've joined and I look forward to this being my permanent gym spot. PS: At first I honestly was hesitant to join because some of the previous reviews made comments about the area/parking lot and hinted about cars being vandalized. I don't get that vibe at all. First, the parking lot usually has a lot of cars, at least when I come, in the wee hours of the morning (between 4-5 AM) and it's well lit. The class was hard but also relaxing because it was heated. The instructor was specific and knew her stuff. The class was full but you had to register to get a spot. We had plenty of room to spread out. I attend several life time locations and this one is close to work. The app is super convent and allows you to look for a specific class, locations and instructors. The facility is beautiful , well maintained and the gym environment is lively and energetic which helps motivate you.

I've interacted with the entire staff who have always been nothing but super friendly and helpful. The trainers, whom are extremely knowledgeable, all seem to be very serious about each of their client's health and fitness, and genuinely want to see you not only succeed, but surpass your goals! CONs (This is where it lacks in comparison to Golds Gym that I'm accustom to) - The equipment is so/so...some are good and some pointless, the dumbbell selection in the 15-30lb range is terrible...good luck getting these weights without waiting forever, the same can be said for preloaded bars...there's like no selection...and the same can be said for 25lb plates as it seems like people are always looking for them, the crowd/vibe is alright at best and it tends to be a lot of younger kids, which isn't bad but it's just not the vibe I'm used too...oh and others that don't know decent gym etiquette...and there isn't much space to do stuff in the free weight area as people are basically on top of each other. You can get a decent work out in, but maybe the smaller chain gyms are better in this area.

I can sit in any chair and not have to worry if I'll be able to get out of it or not. It's been good for my moods, it makes me feel good every time I do it and makes me so proud that I'm doing something good for my body. This is the only program I have stuck with for this long other than jazzercise when I was 25. Katherine and Lauren are great, positive, reinforcing, lots of energy, and passionate.
