I'm an avid 60-year-old cyclist recovering from a high-side road bike crash in June 2023. After two reconstructive hip surgeries and 13 weeks in a wheelchair, I was back on the bike--only to need a revision hip replacement this February, which brought me to Synapse. Jordan is an exceptional listener and diagnostician. He carefully calibrated just the right combination of stretching and strengthening to drive my recovery. Working through the inherent pain of my condition, he adjusted my regimen with precision to optimize progress. A recent experiment proved to me that I need to push--not just consistently, but smarter and harder--between sessions to keep the pain at bay through movement. Where do I start?…read more Dr Eickmann was condescending and dismissive, over-shared about the practice's finances, and never even mentioned my injury that can can only be repaired with surgery - an injury that was the primary finding on ALL of my imaging reports. Now I'm ok with a down-to-business bedside manner but this guy lacked even the most basic empathy and compassion. Like it or not, that is part of the path to do no harm. I'm no delicate flower that needs their hand held, but holy christonacracker the guy was beyond cold into the cruel zone. He was in major hurry with no time for questions. He couldn't be bothered. Lucky for me I've learn to deal with doctors like that. His assistant couldn't take a simple history either, and the receptionist was clearly miserable. Just find another practice, trust me.

I mean she stated 3 times that they had a special list for medicaid patients and that medicaid patients had a lower priority over other patients. This would seem to be a violation of "Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964:" where segregation of patients in respect to services, financial aid, or other benefits is a direct discrimination in procurement of certain health care services. She told me that I would have to wait 4 weeks or more just to be considered while I sit in pain. I could not believe how rude she spoke to me as if I were garbage.

I signed up immediately for a free seminar..in fact, I went to two seminars before signing up just to make sure I understood all aspects of the program so that I knew what was required of me to be successful. Dr. Melissa couldn't have been more kind and reassuring that if I followed the program, not only would the weight come off, but my pre-diabetic blood sugar levels and ever-increasing cholesterol numbers would come down. Steadily, that's exactly what happened. Now that I've completed maintenance, I can say that my weight has stayed down to a 5-pound range from my lowest point and my blood sugar and cholesterol numbers remain low.
