Not sure if it's because they haven't been opened very long, but it's never crowded at all & there is a huge amount of equipment, both free weights & fixed machines. Another feature I love is that, although the membership fees are very low, unlike so many of the other $20/month gyms in the area, there is most often an employee their at the desk to help you with questions & suggestions. Their location is a plus because there is plenty of parking & lots of places to eat after your workout.

The front desk staff were very nice, but the clientele felt like the inmates at Leavenworth prison. Particularly one short, overly tattooed, white runt with spiky hair, about 40, wearing wireless earbuds so he can't hear all the negative things people are saying about him, who sits on machines for 20 minutes texting and not allowing anybody else to use them. I asked if I could work in and he said he had one more set. Then he started texting like a 15-year-old girl for another five minutes. I finally said something to him and he acted like I was the one being the jerk. What a tiny, sad life he must have, always trying to prove he's "tough", even to people that are friendly to him. Probably got bullied in elementary school and has been taking it out on the world ever since. Then I tried to use the other lap pull down machine, and the second guy using that one gave him an attitude about working in on it too, even though I asked him in a very friendly way. The first guy got up and walked away from the machine so I finally got to use the one I wanted to use in the first place, but then he came back and said he was still using it. This is about 10 minutes after I asked him if I could work in. We got into a ridiculous discussion until I finally had enough and told him he could have the machine if it was that important to him and that he clearly needed the little victory more than I did. I have two black belts and could've mopped the floor with him, but I just wanted to finish my workout. I walked away and used a different machine and observed as he and some other guys joked and laughed about it, trying to regain whatever actual pride he has, I suppose. And it suddenly dawned on me that the regular members at this gym are purposely harassing new people because the gym is probably overcrowded and they want to intimidate people so they won't come back. This should be a great concern to the manager because he's going to lose a lot of business running a gym full of jerks. They seem to have created their own little mafia, except without the actual deadliness. I would suggest hiring somebody that doesn't use the gym to pose as a new member and try to work in with some of the muscleheads in there to see if this is a strategy of theirs. When I was leaving, I complained to the front desk, but they didn't even offer to take a report or show any interest. They were very nice, but the right thing to do would've been to ask me to point this clown out to her so that she could know who the troublemaker of the Jim were for future reference. If that was my gym and there were short man complex afflicted butt flaps like him treating classy members like that, I would cancel their memberships. This gym is way out of my way. I was only there because I had some business in Nampa that day so I won't be back. If I do happen to need to use the gym again, let it be known that Shorty has used up his one free pass.

Pricing is $89 for 8 classes a month and $149 for unlimited classes if you are a St. Luke's Medical Center employee. Make sure you get that discount. Class times can be limiting for some so check the schedule before signing up. There aren't any from 12-4pm I believe during the week. And none after 12pm on the weekends. Around 3pm there are quite a bunch of high school students working out (including me). No, people don't film their friends doing sets, no, nobody is barefoot. The machines aren't sticky because you get a RAG and spray to wipe them down if they are ever left with sweat. The staff members are very pleasant, and are present during the times that are displayed on the front desk. If you're all about gym etiquette and are don't like grunting then go ahead and go to planet fitness where that grunting won't be heard over the lunk alarm, jeez. Better yet, get a pair of noise cancelling headphones or earbuds. The staff members clean and vacuum the gym as well as the bathrooms daily before they leave to go home, as this is a 24-hour gym. If there's someone using the machine you need then it's as simple as asking "how many sets do you have left?" and then being patient as said person finishes their workout. Yes, you may see high school students working out in groups and waiting for their friends to do their sets before continuing theirs, just pop a question and you'll get the machine in a few minutes. No, we don't bite. The gym was recently remodeled and looks far different than it does in the displayed photos. There are many more machines than there were a few months ago. There is also an upstairs where you can do yoga and other sort of workouts. There are many options for cardio and there are usually enough machines for everyone since there are so many. There are fans all around the gym that keep it nice and cool inside, it also usually smells good due to the staff cleaning so much. This is the perfect place to improve yourself and your quality of life, go ahead and give it a shot. Pausing and cancelling memberships are also very easy as you don't sign your soul away (unlike other gyms). One recommendation I have is about the music played in the gym, it could be a little better. However, since I am very sensible I bring my own noise cancelling headphones if I want to listen to something else. We thought our services were fine; my girlfriend had a prenatal massage and said her therapist talked the whole time which she thought was distracting, but I had the same therapist right after and we didn't chat at all. I know therapists usually go off the energy of the client that they're working with, so I think she was probably being polite and the therapist might have considered it being open for more conversation. Anyway, like I said, we did enjoy our services. We were hoping for a group discount, but instead they treated us each to a glass of wine, which we appreciated. We didn't use any of the gym or pool facilities, nor the locker room. The gym equipment seemed fine. There were quite a few people in the gym. We didn't see anyone using the pool, but there were people using the hot tub, sauna, and steam room. I would say that clientele leans more male, and the pool/hot tub/sauna/steam room are co-ed, so take that into consideration if you visit.

A few general comments: - The smaller size and location of the gym are positives in my view. If you need to drive and park, though, it's rough. They have parking through the hotel, but it's time limited and the garage gets full and unusable if there are lots of hotel guests or events. - The locker rooms are tiny, barely kept up (broken hooks, and doors, towels strewn about), showers are sort of just a mess (it's one big open space mostly). Also, on the mens restroom, the urinal continues to almost flood daily as it's been kind of clogged forever. You can use it, but don't flush it.. - Cardio machines are ok -- getting on the older side but work well usually Some frustrations continue to include: - They lease out the pool to external swim lessons, so there are large swaths of the day where the pool is basically unusable and kids are running around, screaming, parents are everywhere -- it's a mes - It's also the hotel pool and gym, so between that, swim lessons and normal members, it's a dirty pool if we are being honest. I used to swim here, but I've run into so many gross hairs and "things" underwater that I just can't do it anymore. - It feels like ownership has gotten a little excited post pandemic and membership growth has REALLY taken off the last few months. It's really noticeable and at peak times (4pm-7pm) it's almost impossible to get a weight workout in without massive frustrations. There's simply no space. There's one single real squat rack (the other is a smith machine type thing), a couple benches, one normal bench press ... you'll end up nearly bumping into people just trying to pick up dumbbells. - There also seem to be some third party kettle bell trainers running private training in the gym, which further takes up space and seems to always ALSO be at peak times. - During peak times -- FORGET about trying to even get changed in the locker room. It becomes like trying to change in an aircraft lavatory. - I don't know if they plan to cap memberships, but I worry they won't (like all gyms, they just love the money coming in) ... and it's now teetering on not being a usable gym option just because it's so uniquely small in terms of Sq/Ft. It just doesn't handle the extra people well. - For now I continue to go and mostly enjoy it but only because I have schedule flexibility. If I were forced to only go at after work times, it'd be a tough sell honestly. 4/5 for now -- but it's getting too crowded really quickly
