DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM. They will word their contracts so sneakily that all the sudden you owe 1,000 dollars in fees. The contract makes it sound that if you stop paying they will cancel your contract with them. I came in and asked about cancellation and some skinny dude in a grey tshirt told me I have to cancel online. I look online in the app. And can't find anything. Eventually I got a joint bank account with my husband and they no longer had access to my card. They have been charging me ever since without even notifying me ONCE. Then threaten me with a 800 dollar balance and collections and tell me if I don't pay the 800 then I can't cancel. And the fees will just keep racking up. I haven't even stepped foot into that gym in a year and a half almost. When I explained to them that I tried to cancel in person they completely ignored me and threatened me again saying they were gonna keep charging me until I paid it. ALSO there's so many people that go here you have to wait for most of the machines. It's not a "luxury" gym so for as much as the cost is per month it's not worth it. Idaho fitness is a great gym. Leave this gym to the bodybuilders/competitors . And that's who they should be marketing to and weaseling into a contract like this. Bad business ethics read more

I have never before experienced this kind of horrible God awful customer service and tell a new person. I've never seen in the front desk before wearing a gray shirt I was coming in talking about getting My Wife a gym membership. She was a little flustered with the the price, which was fine with me I'm OK paying it but then after a few back-and-forth comments from the front desk, Employee My Wife and Me decided to walk off go about a day workout and then he continues to walk over not even five minutes later to proceed to further harass me and my wife during our workout and continue to say there's been a noise complaint which is clearly a false statement as he seemed a little flustered because my wife yet again stood up for herself when he came over and said there was noise complaint when we had mentioned who had complained he couldn't answer the question he said well people actually looking at me funny i hate that he even came and harassed my wife and l . I am definitely 1000% canceling my membership and highly recommend anyway looking for a better gym go to the villa. I'm pretty sure their Customer Service and front desk people are trying a lot better than this. Prices here 52.00 a month with a family member another $52.00 a month. As well Guest passed for 24 hour $14.00 Guest pass for one week $100.00 Villa fitness 47.00 per month and bring up to to guest free And 10 locations across the map and I am sure there customer Service representative is there I've been thoroughly trained on proper manners and not arguing with customers and how to treat people respectfully regardless of how being spoken to or getting into a little scuffle or argument and not rolling their eyes and getting an attitude highly unprofessional was not expecting that at all all the rest of the front desk they're fine. They're incredible that an individual needs a serious coaching or a new job. read more

The 1-star review is due to a wild safety incident and how Mecca handled it. I started a membership and was there for only 2 months before they let some stranger without a membership into the gym who physically broke into my locker, stole my wallet, and immediately went on a shopping spree with all my credit cards. I called the police who came and I filed a report. During that process and my back-and-forth with various staff I mentioned that of course I would like to cancel and expect given the extreme circumstance that the cancellation fee would be waved. I was quickly assured that would not be a problem. 6 months go by and I don't hear a word from Mecca until I get a nasty email telling me I owe them over $300 in unpaid membership fees. Shocked, I call them up to discuss. Whoever I talked to told me to email the manager. Manager didn't reply back to me but the billing person did and basically explained that they could care less if my wallet is stolen and since I did not follow some specific sign they claim was posted somewhere that in order to cancel you have to *email* the manager (I guess talking to him or the people reporting directly to him is not enough), they would not consider the verbal agreement at the time valid. Even though I didn't lay foot in the gym since, even though their lack of security (not checking people's membership status during the day) lead to my wallet getting stolen, even though they silently went along for 6 months without communication making it seem settled, they have sent this made-up "bill" to a collections agency. Haven't dealt with a business so vile and greedy before in my life. As for the gym itself, incredibly overrated. You are basically paying double what you should to deal with an overcrowded gym with frequently broken machines and which is a bit filthy at times. Take your money elsewhere! read more

This facility is extremely dirty, despite having cleaners come nightly. There is dust and grime on every machine. There's always a toilet broken in the bathroom and everyone has to share the same 3 damp towels to wipe down equipment. The turf is also very small. The main thing this review is about is the lack of customer service the staff have. When I joined, I was given a piss poor tour by someone who didn't have much information to give me and didn't display a shred of knowledge about fitness. I joined during a transition between my last gym and a better gym. On my way out of this membership, I asked for some grace on the 10-day window for canceling because I was moving out of the area. The manager told me he could refund me but it would cost him money. Okay, and? Cut your losses. That's what a good business manager does to keep a gracious community reputation. I didn't have anything remarkable to say about my experience here until it became clear to me that they don't care about customer service and I couldn't recommend this gym less. read more

Great equipment, but the staff are unintending and very rude. If you don't sign up for their personal training, you are treated like an outcast. When I mentioned it to the head trainer, Lauren, she laughed and said, "Then buy some training packages". This place is not like it was before it moved to eagle road. They use to have standards and only hired trainers with degrees in exercise science, now they hire just about anyone off the street. You get less, treated worse, but pay more. Who ever bought this place is running it into the ground. My daughter and I have since gone back to Axiom, its a much better environment. read more

It used to be an awesome gym, but they changed their operating hours and now they have the worst gym hours I have ever seen. The childcare hours here are terrible and they are more expensive than any other gym in the area that offers far better childcare. My recommendation for any parents with busy schedules is to try Axiom at the Village. They have much better hours, a nicer facility, superior childcare, and it costs about one-third of what Mecca charges. read more

I'm absolutely astonished that this gym isn't rated 5 stars on Yelp. I've never received anything less than absolute respect from the staff and Laura (Lead Trainer) has the most adorable personality. The Mecca is a fantastic gym. It's got an awesome hardworking environment. The gym is full of high quality equipment and many of the machines they have are machines that majority of gyms do not have. Don't expect scented towels and BS sales people to hold your hand when you walk through the door. Expect a friendly environment filled with knowledgeable professionals who are more than happy to assist you or answer your questions. So much Drama at the gym. They just want to train and cater to females. Not friendly unless you buy training from a trainer that knows less then you do. It is not maintained well at all. Lights and drinking fountain have been out for months. They are letting things go down hill. The equipment is great but the atmosphere in the worst I have ever experienced. read more

I've been in the fitness industry since 1999. I've been to hundreds of gyms. I give you my credentials so you can understand where I'm coming from. Eric (the owner) has built an environment and a culture that is second to none. The investments in quality equipment and staff is apparent as soon as you walk in the door. All the best for every different modality fitness offers. Bodybuilding, power lifting, strong man, general health. The specialty bars alone are more numerous than the Elitefts and Rogue websites combined. The machine selection encompasses an all the mechanics and ranges of motion a body can need. Like I said I've been doing this longer then most but some of his trainers have even taking their craft even more personal than I have and that's incredible. I appreciate the time I spend there as there is no doubt this is "The Mecca" of the all the gyms I may ever train at. read more

Love the equipment and layout but this place has become more trendy and seems more a hangout for a large portion of people. I don't know if it's the location or local trend, but over the last couple months it has gotten to the point of being way too busy to get in and get a decent workout done. People come in as couples or groups and get on equipment and just linger. My goal is to get in, workout as hard as I can at a steady pace, and get out. Lately I encounter multiple waiting periods, and can only cycle through so many alternative exercise before I have not maintained my workout routine and ultimately burned up more time than I should. I hate leaving a gym consistently frustrated and feeling punished for choosing to come in at the time. I see signs stating they are capping members soon, so that leads me to believe they are not at "capacity" yet which means it's not going to get any better. read more

Tons...I mean tons...of really great equipment. This is a more serious lifters/fitness gym so there are many folks that lift here that are prepping for competitions. You will also, more than likely, end up (background capture) on someones TikTok or YT channel as you'll see influencers shooting vids quite often. Place makes me want to improve and train harder. There are some...let's say...narcissistic tendency men/women but, in the aggregate, most folks are friendly, open, and very laid back. read more

Everything a serious weightlifter would want. Strong man gear, reverse hyper, west side style belt squat machine, lots of barbells, squat racks and deadlift platforms, and more than enough competition style bench set ups. Very well equipped gym. They just need heavy kettlebells lol. read more

We were out-of-towners looking for a workout while on the road and found this place using Yelp. It is a GREAT lifters gym with lots of specialty equipment, TONS (haha) of free weights, and three squat racks. The desk help was super friendly and accommodating, they even found a couple of bath towels for us to use so we could shower afterwards. It's a no-frills gym, so don't come here looking for a luxe locker room experience (which, admittedly, I was kind hoping for), but there is plenty of equipment for a great workout and everyone was friendly. It's a 5-star place for local lifters for sure. If Yelp were granting wishes I would have wished for a slightly nice locker room and towel service, but I recognize that they aren't catering to visitors, instead they focus service on their regular clientele. If I lived in the area, I'd be back. read more

I love the MECCA gym!! A basic gym membership is about $25/month and if you upgrade to $40/month you get to use the daycare and tanning. They also offer massages too! It's a great powerlifting gym with 4 squat racks, 4 deadlifting platforms, 3 bench presses, 1 competition rack, and a GHR. There are also other standard gym equipment as well. The gym is opened 24/7!! Forgot to mention that they have deadlift bars! read more

The Mecca Gym is a gem of a training facility located in a strip mall area right off the freeway in Meridian, ID. It is tucked back in such a way as to allow for back door access to the back lot for Prowler runs, farmer's walks and tire flipping. Owned by local natural bodybuilders and powerlifters, Eric and Kacee Cafferty, the locals all have a sense of ownership and familial bonding after only one visit to this gym. Go in without your headphones on and you'll see what we mean. Everyone is friendly, willing to help, coach, co-train and chat about pretty much anything. We saw a 130# gossipy female (very entertaining) trying to pr her squat with a 210# beefcake mainstay of the club. All of the equipment is top-of-the-line and the Cafferty's own several unique pieces we have not seen anywhere in the Treasure Valley. These include a Nautilus pec-deck straight from Venice Beach, a Roger's squat (if you haven't worked your ass-quads-core in this remarkable piece of equipment, a visit to The Mecca Gym is worth it just for that.) and a seal row bench. The powerlifting staples are of the best quality we've seen in the entire state and if you are trying to just work on your Big 3, this is your gym. Cardio equipment consists of a row of treadmills and a step mill. They also own a Jacob's Ladder, which is great. The step mill has no platform for a phone or iPad to watch a movie so that's disappointing. The staff is all sincerely friendly with welcome greetings, big furry smiles and surprisingly, the females don't annoy us with their friendly chatter. The "Mecca Family" (meaning the members) are always available to help spot you, inform you or give you a tip on how to hit that little-know muscle group or to share a new delicious recipe. The reason we gave The Mecca gym only 4 of 5 stars is that it also offers tanning and childcare-neither of which are note-worthy or worth it. The child care room is always unmanned and you have to ask a staff member to hang out with your kids. This would be fine for older children, but if you have a little one, training over an hour gets you feeling guilty as there are RARELY any kids to play with here. They do have a tv and the kids can watch movies or play with the plethora of trucks, baby toys or a toy kitchen. Also, there is really no set limit on the childcare hours like at other facilities so you could come with the kids at 3 am and train until noon if you so chose. Also, you could let your kids hang out with you on the floor as long as they are well-behaved. This is something you really don't see. The tanning bed was used by us twice in a row and not a drop of color after 15 minutes which tells us that the bulbs must need changing. All-in-all, this is decidedly FABULOUS gym and we could train here for hours! read more
