A charming, small, lighted Riverwalk with multiple benches, trash cans, "doggie" bags, sturdy steps…read moreand railings which runs parallel and just east of Historic Downtown Glen Rose. We "discovered" this charming, nicely constructed walkway after enjoying a riverside picnic dinner. We were enticed by the newer, smoother-looking walkway and entrance we could see from the Pavilion at Paluxy Heritage Park--what better activity for post-mealtime than a walk!? The Riverwalk features a dock/platform where people could potentially pull kayaks, SUPs, or canoes along the edge and either paddle down river, go for a quick restroom break (there's one up the hill at Paluxy Heritage Park near the Pavillion), or take a rest. During our walk, I was happy to spot one small cluster of cheerful white and yellow wildflowers I had not yet seen in Texas near the trail and enjoyed seeing the homes across the road--a couple with some very southern features--especially the beautiful wrap-around porches! I also enjoyed trying to walk faster than the SUPer down on the river below in an attempt to start a small race. The most special surprise of all was that this Riverwalk led us to a large Dam (intended for recreational use with steps on either side). From there, you can cross over the dam and walk to Big Rocks Park - a site to behold from the dam and a bit like Enchanted Rock on a MUCH smaller scale with many large...I mean BIG ROCKS. For a girl-turned-woman who STILL collect rocks, this was a dream come true!! We were delighted that we chose this walk as it turned into even more of an adventure than anticipated and made us almost glad that Dinosaur Valley State Park closed early (7pm on weekends for day use--at least temporarily during COVID) as we gained a whole new and WONDERFUL perspective of what the small town of Glen Rose has on offer--and its much more than Dinosaurs and Fossils with many features and activities I consider quintessentially Texan in the best of ways! There's a certain feeling that can't be named in the goodness of a hot Texas summer spent on, in, or near the water with cold drinks, smells of campfire/BBQ, and good company - it's so rich and so good it's spiritual! This experience, and the wonder it filled me with, gave me that pure, untainted Texas goodness that only those who have spent time in, and love, Texas understand.

The first thing that was apparent here was the employee and staff pride and attention to detail for our group of guests. The food was fantastic - easily 4-5 stars and varied from tender filets, chicken-fried steaks and homemade desserts. The property is beautiful, high on the hill overlooking the gaming average below. The main clubhouse with pool, hot tub and gaming rooms is modern and comfortable - a great place to relax with your group of friends or co-workers. I felt the rooms, beds and accomodations were first rate & the conference room large and adequate for our needs. We spent time on the skeet-course and had a blast riding in the oversized carts and trying our skills at the wide variety of shooting stations placed across the skeet course Great visit and a great spot for a team meeting!

It is a multi-use sidewalk, so you do have to watch for bikes, and hope they are watching for you. It's not very long "hike", but does make for a nice walk. Especially if you just had a big meal on the square. This walking and bike trail is no different because you can easily take a stroll and see the lake or turn this into a very serious exercise trail to burn up the miles both on foot or bike. I walked the majority of this and was shocked at how long these trails actually are and how nice and well-maintained they are.

Probably 20 people or more had set their chairs on the concrete dance floor and when the MC who has been doing this for years came up to speak he did not say anything to these people taking up the dance floor! Several people around us left saying if there is no place to dance what's the point? The solution is to have a sign printed and placed on front of stage that says NO CHAIRS ALLOWED ON CONCRETE DANCE FLOOR. Simple solution but I bet they will not do this! Shame on the MC for not having a backbone to stand up for the rest of us!!

Had Tim do all the required maintenance that had not been done. Discovered water pump had not been changed for at least 2-5 years!. Installed new pump. Plus, I had him install LED lights along the sides and docking lights. Everything was done to perfection. The boat runs great. No more worries! Eight months later: Nov 2019-Put fresh gas with ethanol treatment and gas stabilization treatment in boat. Kept trickle charger on battery. April 2020: Two squeezes of 2stroke oil from oil tank. Crossed fingers. Engine started with one turn of key! Thanks Tim!
