One of the most disappointing gym experiences I've ever had. I was genuinely excited to try this place after being given a free 5-day pass, but that excitement quickly turned into frustration and embarrassment. When I showed up ready to work out, the general manager, David, refused to honor the pass I was promised. I felt completely lied to and misled. I wasted my time, gas, and energy coming here just to be turned away like I didn't matter. There was no empathy, no effort to fix the situation, and no accountability just a flat "no." It was uncomfortable and honestly humiliating to be treated that way, especially when I did nothing wrong. First impressions matter, and this was a terrible one. If this is how they treat potential members, I can't imagine how they treat paying ones. I would absolutely not recommend this gym to anyone. read more

I reached an agreement with management to try out the gym for the remaining 12 days of the month. They assured me that if I didn't like the gym, I could cancel and wouldn't be charged. However, I was charged on the last day before the month ended. I called multiple times to request a refund, but they only referred me to customer service. When I spoke with Jackson, my recruiter, he was able to help me out and promptly refunded my money. In contrast, management avoided me at all costs and was afraid to approach me to resolve the issue. During a conversation between the manager and Jackson, I directly had eye contact with the manager. She then walked away and went to hide in an office. I wouldn't do any business with this location. They would do anything to make their sales for the month. read more

They closed the Westheimer @ Hayes location at the end of March 2025. Was very convenient for many guests living nearby. Other locations are far away. I canceled my membership today and tried to get a refund for the annual club fee (pro-rated). Customer service refused. Amazing! Nice way to treat customers who were not involved in the closure of that gym locations but are now inconvenienced. Additionally, they had increased my monthly feeds by 35%!!! Beware. Nope!! I first joined FC when it wasn't a full-blown facility yet, at Greenspoint Mall. They had a good deal going before they opened up the full gym. Then they opened the gym & it was great! 24/7 access (I used to get off work at 12:30am & would hit the gym right after). Then I started going to the Federal location & it was pretty much the same. I moved out of state in 2016. Now I'm back, and I figured I'd give it another go. I've only gone 3 days. Here's what's wrong: My main issue is that it's WAY TOO CROWDED. They've made the mistake that many other gyms of the sort have made, which is that they only care about signing up more members. Not about making sure that everyone has a decent, unbothered experience working out. People will actually wait in line behind you to use the squat rack! This is unheard of at any gym I've ever been to. Peak hours seem to be from around 5:30 to maybe 9:30pm. Today was the only day I've been there before 5, and it wasn't quite as bad, however you still can't use a bench-press without people stealing your plates. & good luck finding 20-25lb dumbbells that aren't being used. It's very crowded & it's more of a younger (almost high school) crowd. Upon sign up, there was no mention abt tax. My membership is supposed to be $25 a month, which is all I was told. & $27.xx was withdrawn from my account. Also, I expressed my desire to "give it a shot", since they said I can cancel at any time, and at no point did they mention to me that I can get a free, 5-day pass (you can find this info on their website). Obviously, they have excellent equipment but the most important aspect of this gym is that they have a designated cleaning crew that keeps this gym in top notch condition. I went to this gym 3 times, and didn't think twice about cancelling. My kids claimed that the lady who worked the front desk slammed the door behind them when they walked in. Since, they do close at at 8. Id walk in from 7:00-720 & kept being reminded to come get my kids at 7:50. Even though I'm vaccinated she kept hounding me about my mask. This lady was rude, unprofessional & is a bad vibe period! The gym also wasn't well kept, it's very contradicting that I kept being hounded about my mask but I could see sweat dripping from the machines at a glance. Going to LA or 24! Reconsider! read more

This location definitely isn't the best. I watched an employee go around and "target" certain individuals to ask if they had on gloves. If she would have asked everyone, that's fine, but she did not. That was very patronizing and you can't expect people to return if they aren't comfortable and feel targeted. I will not be returning. That was very disrespectful. To be specific, it is a female and I was here on Friday, January 1 around 3pm. And yes, I had on gloves and a mask but that's besides the point. Also, We had been here for almost two hours. Then, i was told even though i have on gloves, they aren't the correct ones and i could buy some. If y'all trynna capitalize and have everyone buy your gloves then just say that. What are y'all going to do for females that have long nails- hence the reason why females wear gloves with the fingers out. Am i not supposed to workout? Extreme lack of caring by individuals to return their weights to the rack. I don't know if it is the type of people that work out here (this may be termed the Hood Gym) but people caring about cleaning up after themselves and taking pride in doing things right are few and far between. This gym is horrible, If I could give them 0 starts I would. I'm never the type to leave reviews but this most definitely needs to be addressed as soon as possible. I been a member of this location for a couple months, my boyfriend has been a member of fitness connection for 3 years. We moved, so we been coming to the -federal- location because distance wise from home is convenient. All the water fountain's in the gym have been OUT OF SERVICE for a month now. They finally fixed the one near the men locker room, and the filter is dirty (Red light on for maintenance). Filter light has been like this for 3 weeks now. There is 6 StairMaster's, which 4 of them are out of service. Then also the mens SAUNA has been OUT OF SERVICE for weeks now. The employees are horrible at this gym, extremely unprofessional. They start rudely kicking people out the gym at 11:45-11:50pm when they close 12am. I been asked really impolitely at 11:40, to leave the sauna. Last week while my Boyfriend was walking to the EXIT of the gym at 11:54 an employee came with an attitude an proceeded to tell him "You need to get out" my boyfriend explain he was walking to the EXIT, the employee followed by saying "I been making announcements for 15 min, we are CLOSING you need to get out". Mind you my boyfriend had noise cancellation headphones through-out his workout, and he proceeded to leave when it was close to closing time. This was 5 min before closing.. The manager is nice and polite but he has a horrible Team. I've worked at multiple Gym's before and customer service, especially front desk is what represents the Gym; and they sure make the gym looks extremely unprofessional and make you feel unwelcomed; when you come in and when you leave. I cannot believe this place charges you a yearly fee along with an extra monthly fee when you cancel on top of the rip off fee if you don't happen to get the no fee membership. This place is nasty. The people do not clean up after themselves and there is no body around to clean the equipment. They should be ashamed of themselves with all these fees. I just hope they don't continue deducting my account after already ripping me off another 30 days and saying I can continue to visit until the 30 days are up. I have been a member for some time, it was convenient since it had extended hours at first,And it's so cheap. This location does not have a ‍ pool. But other locations do. I have to say it had everything you need to get a work out. But during certain hours it's pack. The classes are cool, comparable with other gyms. Here is my greatest complaint about a year ago I tried to cancel our membership or one of them I can't remember. You are unable to cancel by calling. At that time I sent a letter by email. That apparently wasn't good enough for them. So I kept both membership. Again thinking it's cheap I could encourage my husband to go. I moved and figured it's the same distance to go to this gym or a gym that cost a little more that has more amenities. You have to call and have your id badge number. Then you have to complete their form. They ask for some documents but it's not clear on my phone what they want. So I sent all of our DL and I uploaded a letter. Then i will have to call to make sure that it got process. Because I really do not want to hear any freaking excuses. It's over! that's funny!! I don't understand why it's so many steps to cancel your membership. Imagine how many people keep it just because of this process. read more

This is a pretty nice location for fitness connection. It is a little crowded in the morning between 5-8, but overall still nice. The staff is friendly and the place is kept pretty clean. My only complaint is the size of the locker room and the bathroom. For a gym of this size they need a much larger bathroom. The locker room is awkwardly laid out and almost like a maze. I bounce from different fitness locations depending on my work for that week, and this is the worst design for a locker room than any others I have seen. I know that probably sounds dumb reading it, but it really is irritating when you have to nearly run into people four time while trying to make it from your locker to your shower. Men's sauna in men's locker/restroom need to be cleaned. I hate holding my breath from the stench of sweat and balls literally. I understand a sauna is meant for people to sweat off toxins but seriously. I have told staff numerous times about this still nothing been done. Do you want a more specific detail? I literally called, without exaggerating the number 100 times and got transferred to the so called cancellation department and all i could get was a voicemail. I told the lady in option 1 of the number not to transfer me and she continued to transfer me. She wouldn't even answer the phone any more. She would just pick up the phone and transfer me. You get what you pay for with fitness connection. You can usually get a deal where it's $10/month and you have to pay a certain amount when you join. I've been to several locations and they're all about the same. At this location and in Greenspoint you'll be lucky if you find dumbells that are matching. There will be some random colored ones and usually half the rack is missing. Not because there's so many people using them - they're just plain missing. They have a nice selection of machines to choose from. Don't expect them to be in pristine condition - some have rust and some are a little wobbly. Cheap gym fees, lots of cardio machines, day care center, a room for group classes, small area for women only. This is a decent gym for $10 a month. read more

I was a member at this gym until they decided to deduct 4 payments from my checking account and blame it on a computer glitch. Perhaps it wouldn't have ticked me off so badly if the staff at the gym would have been more professional and gave me a timespan when the money would be returned. Instead the person had a nasty attitude when giving me corporate info. Corporate is just as nasty and deceptive as the people they hire in their facility. Do not give these people your banking information. They will not notify you when these so called glitches happen . So if you are having some tight times and only have enough in your account to pay a particular bill DONT GIVE YOU BANKING INFORMATION TO THIS COMPANY!!!! THANK GOD I DIDNT FALL INTO THIS CATEGORY. One star is generous this is the most inactive staff I've ever seen in a gym. Dumbbells EVERRYYYWHERRREEEE I don't think I've ever seen an employee going around picking anything up or re racking. It doesn't help that everyone who works out here vastly overestimates how many different dumbbells to do their super set of curls, and no one re racks weights, nor is re racking enforced. Prepare for a very long workout due to lack of 45 plates and dumbbells scattered across the entire gym. read more

Honestly this is a simple, good gym to go to if you just need a good workout. Facility is clean and the equipment is pretty good. The only complaint that I have is that nobody puts their weight back and if they do, especially with the dumbbells, they put it back in the wrong place. I don't know if this is a fault of fitness connection but it's just something to note if you have trouble taking 45 pound plates off of bench or squat bars. read more

They've remodeled the gym after Harvey and looks so much nicer now. Lots of new machines and surprisingly they always have weights available. For the most part people pick up their weights and put them back but just like anywhere else you'll find those lazy people that don't. read more
