Quiet and clean gym, great variety of an equipment selection, super friendly staff who works there! This gym is like one big family. The smoothie bar is super convenient for an after work out snack! I love working out late in the evenings so this place really works for my schedule. Great assortment of fitness classes for beginners and the more advanced! Be sure to try out their FAST program! If you ever want to workout in the morning don't sign up at this gym. NEVER opens at 8 (Stated time on weekends) so many members are left out to wait for it to finally open. Though it is an enjoyable place to workout as it actually cares about the members, but recently it has started to slip downhill. So beware of what you are getting yourself into before being stuck in a contract. read more

This is the gym that I have always gone to when visiting from out of town. Most of my family have memberships here, so it seems like a logical option. My first few experiences here were very positive, but I am really disappointed by the changes that have taken place since my last visit. Like I say, my family members attend this gym, so I have always been treated well here. In fact, the manager even gave me free passes at one point as a token of good will for my family's support. While I appreciated this gesture, I did not expect it and I said as much. So, when I was charged $35 for two weeks during my last visit late last year, I paid it quite happily because I thought the rate was reasonable. Fast forward six months and there is no longer any sense of accommodation for member's families or visitors. The rate skyrocketed to $50 for ONE week! That's almost six times what I was paying previously! When I asked why the rate had taken such a huge jump I was told that the gym has had many renovations done. My first response was, "What renos?" Other than some new equipment, I saw few changes or signs of "renos." My second response was, "Isn't upkeep part of the expense of owning a business?" When I spoke with the owner about the possibility of extending the pass to a second week, she pretended that she wasn't the owner and said that she would have to speak with the manager. Really?! I think it is more accurate to say that she simply knew she was overcharging and she didn't want to have to justify it to me. Admittedly, she left a message for her front desk employee to tell me that the second week would be $35, but that still means that the rates have jumped by about 250%. So, if you're thinking of joining a gym, I would recommend considering a different option because I'm not sure this one really values its members or member loyalty. Ok so I wasn't happy when I first started working out here but some time has passed and let me tell you I wouldn't change my gym for anywhere else. Staff is amazing ! Ladies change room tidy! I never have an issue using equipment. And the shakes are so good that I kill my workout so I can treat myself. Gotten worse. My work out partner and I have been members of Fitness Connection for over three months and still have encountered an upsetting lack of services that were advertised on their website and fliers but were never delivered. I have brought these issues to the attention on more than one occasion and was met with either resistance or empty promises to improve conditions. I have repeatedly raised concerns about the following inadequacies: Inoperative whirlpool; Inadequate operating instructions for the steam room; Inadequate lighting in the women's locker room; Insufficient quantity and poor quality of hair dryers; Inoperative shower in the men's locker room; Cardio machines that have been out of order for weeks; No towels available to customers (it happened again today!); Insufficient level of cleanliness (the same hair and dust balls building up for days at a time). We have patiently awaited a response to these issues without any noticeable improvement in the conditions. We met with an apathetic attitude as they appear to have toward their gym and customers. I was a member of Good Life Fitness for several years and frequented numerous locations and have never encountered the level disservice that I have seen in the last three months. The facilities were always properly maintained, clean and staffed with courteous employees who all knew my name within a week. I still have to request a towel at Fitness Connection since not all the staff has bothered to remember whether or not I use the service. I signed up with Fitness Connection because of the attractive price(Couple of hundred less a year then GL), but now I realize you get what you pay for. While Good Life is a bit more expensive, they run their facilities with a level of professionalism far beyond what I've seen at this gym. I have waited for the Manager to reply to messages left at the desk, email, and a printed letter. The Definition of incompetent is this manager. Under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002, you have the right to cancel an agreement and have your money returned to you if: * The vendor has made a false, misleading or deceptive representation about the goods or services I agreed to buy or lease. Yet he refuses to respond, has told me not to talk to his staff and they wont give me any company information, like owner contact info. PASS ON THE INFO .... or check out BBB website .... I received a flier in the mail today about a special $7.00 a month membership. I called to ask about the details about rates, membership fees, etc. The pushy salesman told me that they are not allowed to give rates over the phone. Sounds like a scam to me. What sort of legitimate gym will not give these details over the phone? I would stay away from this place. read more

when I wrote the original review things were pretty good. now they are not. I have been a member here for about 4 years and have noticed many cardio machines don't work properly, many ellipticals have upper body units that flash 'replace battery'. and the 'motion' on some units is 'clunky' and indicates proper servicing has not been done. meanwhile they did a renovation to add another area for classes. I don't understand how they have money for a renovation but not to fix/replace machines that don't function properly. another thing they did recently was jack up the rates for existing members. most gyms respect and reward their longtime members by keeping them at a reduced rate. recently ownership decided EVERYONE will pay the same rates, which resulted in my rates going up 50%!!! (I think its reasonable to increase rates over time but not this much all at once) since they recently ran new years promos for new member this means that I am paying MORE THAN someone who just walked in the door!! this place stopped giving guest passes about 3 years ago (if I have a friend who is visiting who wants to work out with me its not allowed - unless they pay 10 bucks). MONEY GRAB! recently they cleaned and repainted the ceilings in the shower area. I found out that there was a health complaint before they did this. (this isnt' heresy - if you ask the town you can see it) in the steam room there is rust visible on grout and basically anywhere there is metal. its unsightly. and makes me think I need to make sure my tetanus vacc is up to date!! read more

I have been a patron here for years. but will be leaving soon and its due to the crappy management/owners. starting jan 1 all existing members will have a flat rate of anywhere between 39-49/month. i was paying about 28/month before this. had access to classes. being told now that if i want the same its going to be 49/month (if i dont' want access to classes its 39). why an almost 70% increase?! all at once?! (was told that their rent went up, machines need maintenance etc. etc. ) I'm not trying to scam them. I just dont think its fair that I've been a member for years and now I'll pay the same amount as anyone who walks in for the first time. given that there are specials on january at most places I'll probably be paying even MORE than a new member aside from that the place is starting to get long in the tooth. the mens washroom has mold in multiple places. the steam room has rust in basically every place there is a metal surface. both of these are easy fixes (abrasive cleaning pad and a bit of CLR; using appropriate PPE like a respirator) there are several machines that don't work as they should. a number of the ellipticals have internal batteries that need replacing (these control using the upper body to push or pull - so the rest of the machine works but if you try to set the upper body it wont). have mentionned multiple times to staff and they haven't done anything about it. similarly a few of the ellipticals have clearly started to become a bit lopsided in their movement (this happens with time - it requires you adjust the tension and balance on both sides so its equal). its an easy fix but takes time. despite mentioning to multiple staff over past year still a problem. for the upright bikes there are 3 of them and one of them has a working tv. unforutnately that one doesn't work correctly - the resistance ramps up to max when it gets to cool down. the machine also does not give accurate resistance or mileage information compared to the two other upright bikes - because someone has tried to fix it by replacing the display panel with one from an elliptical machine (so now its callibrated as if it was an elliptical but its a bike!!). the bikes also have torn seats - these seats cost about 10 bucks to replace but nothing has been done and I mentioned it to 3 different staff over 3 months. the place LOOKS really nice because you can't see these problems when you first walk in, and thats the bottom line here : the owners/management keep the place looking the way it needs to for people to sign up. But for me it seems like they don't care about actually fixing things that are broken. They are bringing in staff to do more classes etc. but again: this is because they think it can increase their business. if it doensj't increase their bottom line they dont' care about doing it. read more

I have been joining for few months, and I know they are leaking water in female bathroom, and one elliptical machine has been down for few months... as the membership fee is not expensive, and most of the members are neighbours, I am the one. I just not happy with their weekend hour, open at 8 am, and they close on public holiday, like Family day. All cardio machines are free to use without any log book , you can use all you can. I am going for training and workout , so I don't mind they are not equipped like a hotel , that is fine for me and close to my home. read more

Great gym. Quiet, never busy (at least when I go during the day). The staff are very friendly. Lots of cardio machines and are always available. They keep the club very clean. The music they play is not too loud. They have plenty of classes to take if you like that kind of thing, and trainers if you wish to use their services. They don't "hassle" you to take the training and if you ask a question, they are helpful with the answer. Great neighborhood gym. Lot of parking too. read more

I called them, went there personally, emailed them but there were no responses at all. I won't give up on pursuing my complaint. Great gym and friendly and polite staff??WHERE???The girls are arrogant and don't know anything!!!If you ask anything to one of then you will get different answers and the SAME ATTITUDE!!!When I asked for a manager they said they were not in the gym, and started to pass the phone one to another!!!I got really frustrated...then an arrogant one called Ana (with was the first one that I spoke with) came on the phone and ironically asked me "what can I do for you??"...I asked her last name and a manager name... she said "I am not gonna tell you"...and IRONICALLY AGAIN she asked "what can I do for you??"... Good for someone looking for a 1st time gym membership and if you live close by. Prices are around $30 apparently. My friend takes classes and she says they're decent. I've been there a few times as a guest. And for me - someone who's been going to the gym for a LONG time - it doesn't meet my standards. Walked in to be "welcomed" by unfriendly, amateur front desk staff - jeez I'm a potential customer for gods sake - at least say hello and look like you want to be there. Thought I'd do some cardio after ages and guess what - the handles on the elliptical are stuck. And the entire gym is overrun by the most annoying Richmond Hill kids. God I hate the suburbs - especially this one. But I often have my best workouts when I'm annoyed and angry, so my workouts turned out to be great! I'd rather pay a bit more somewhere else where I would actually enjoy going, feel welcome, better equipment, and where I don't have to wait for a machine because some kid is sitting there busy texting his buddies with the phone mommy bought for him. But honestly, Richmond Hill is a pretty boring and depressing place itself, so what do you expect right. read more
