There are no clear signs indicating where to park and there are a ton of potholes near the gym. Second, the lobby area is neat and clean. They have a cafe that is open to anyone, and you do not have to be a member to grab a coffee. They also have cool freebies like "Better Earned" stickers and rubber bracelets. I am actually wearing one as I type this, and it serves as a nice reminder of what I'm working towards.

There are plenty of cardio machines, however that can also be placed in the cons section depending on your relationship with cardio. So, you ask, what's the issue? Me. I'm the issue. Full disclosure, I'm a competitive bodybuilder so I take quite a bit of time in the gym, have certain exercises that need to be completed in a certain order, and I just can't quite do that at Bold. The biggest reason is lack of equipment. Listen, there are a lot of members, and that's great, however when you only have one smith machine, one set of 100lb dumbbells, one hip thrust machine...you see where I'm going with this. Also, people do NOT re-rack their weights and it drives me insane! There seems to be no common courtesy or rules when it comes to this issue. Earlier I mentioned their cardio machines - I feel like if they decreased the number of cardio machines they could maybe add another dumbbell rack and free up the current dumbbell rack placement. I come here because it's the closest gym to me, and on upper body days I can get an effective and quick workout when I go in the middle of the day. It's more of a 3.5 star to me, but again, I'm probably the problem.

With the Coronavirus lockdown, these guys reacted proactively BEFORE they had to and reached out to every member and challenger in group and individual communication to discuss membership options and ask how they could help. They quickly jumped on providing ample options for at home workouts with or without equipment and even did a couple rounds of lending their equipment out to use temporarily. I've been solidly impressed. Their goal is your lifelong fitness, health, nutrition, and achieving whatever your personal goals may be. They truly operate and communicate like a family community...the business side is there, but heavily in the back seat. Support local. Support what works. Two saunas, showers, vending machines, world-class coaches, a cardio area, and even an outdoor fitness space--it's all here. If there's one thing someone might not love, it's that this isn't your typical commercial gym--no chrome machines or top-40 playlists.
