They don't have the capacity to respond to inquiries via social media, so an in person visit is necessary (and lots of fun!). Be patient. Just do your digging and take photos of what you are interested in with your phone. The shop operates in a brocante style (like if you've ever watched Dick & Angel shop for architectural salvage in France on "Escape to the Chateau"). You show your photos to the shop owner Carolyn at the main checkout and she comes up with a price for your selections. I know it seems weird, but when you see the shop you will understand that there is no way in h*ll they could possibly put individual prices on everything. This is not Facebook marketplace and the pricing for some items will reflect this shop's proximity to NYC. The owner's passion and commitment to recycling and repurposing just about everything from a wide variety and time periods is admirable. I appreciated his artful taste and design style but also as important his personal class and ability to understand me. I hired him. We worked together to create my new living room and I am thrilled. I have worked with other designers before and always walked away thinking that they don't hear me. Not so here, I love working with Robert Legere. He is a gem and so are his stores his staff and his integrity.

We contracted Legere to renovate most of the first floor of our house. The designers and most of…read morethe workers are good, talented people with the customer's interests in mind. The head of the company, Steve Troy, is a different story. Steve has one interest - your money. We paid Legere nearly $250,000 for our renovation. Legere recommended replacing the hardwood floor in our kitchen with tile. A couple months after Legere completed the project we noticed that some of the tiles in the kitchen were loose. Legere attempted and failed to fix the problem on 3 occasions. Each time Legere repaired the floor they used a different lot of tiles. Now about a third of the tiles in our kitchen are loose and/or cracked and the tiles don't match. Today we received a letter from Legere's attorney stating that they are no longer responsible for the damage they caused to our home. Several tiling companies have seen the damage and estimated that the repair will cost $30,000-$40,000. Each time we contacted Legere about the tile problems the workers were accommodating and attempted to fix the problem, and each time Steve Troy attempted to blame the problem on us. Steve Troy has now refused to correct the problem. We are stuck with a nightmare. Our kitchen floor is falling apart.

Even if the employee was busy he could have at least suggested I look it over and email him with question when he was available. But no, I needed to make a second appointment. Which I did. Then I called the owner and left her a voicemail that I wanted to speak to her about this situation. She never called back. The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER EXPERIENCED. And I would have been happy to use them to wallpaper ever room in my brownstone. TOO BAD!
