Furniture was delivered damaged. Second table was damaged and wrong shade but Paul, the owner, called in a repairman. At the time, I had 3 shade samples. I showed and asked the repairman which sample matches the table and it was NOT the shade I picked. The second time I told Paul the shade is wrong, he told me that if he has to order a new table it will be the last one even if the table is gauged, scratched, etc he will NOT fix the table. As a senior, Paul intimidated me, I kept the 2nd table, afraid the 3rd table's condition would be worse. The table is not hardwood. It is easily nicked. The table is rarely used and is covered with a tablecloth all time. Over-priced, poor craftsmanship and quality control and poor business attitude. I asked Royce, sales, how to clean the table and didn't know the answer. A waste of money. Would definitely not recommend this store. read more

Worst experience I've ever dealt with. Owner (Paul McMahon) is a liar and threatens females. I couldn't believe the ongoing issues after purchasing my $12k bedroom set. After waiting 4-5 months to receive the set, multiple pieces were wrong measurements. One dresser had to have a new top put on since the original top had a long crack. Paul at first agreed to make corrections for me. I waited additional months to receive corrected pieces. When Paul and team arrived with corrections, instead of bringing the new dresser top, he informed me on the day of delivery that he just had a whole new dresser built for me instead, and that he made sure the wood was selected from the exact lot as the wood from my other pieces so that it would match. I knew something seemed off since drawers weren't opening properly and the color was off. Later that evening I looked back at old photos on my phone that I took in their show room 6 months prior, only to realize that each character mark on this dresser was exactly the same as the one in this 6 month old photo. PAUL LIED TO ME AND BROUGHT ME A USED FLOOR MODEL DRESSER. I looked on further and noticed he also brought me the used floor model mirror. I spent $12k on furniture that was supposed to be newly built for me, only to be lied to, given a whole BS story, and receive old used floor model pieces. I confronted Paul over the phone the next morning about this lie and asked him to be honest with me. Paul got immediately angry and defensive, denying the whole situation. He blamed his drivers, insisting that they must have brought the wrong pieces. I told him I felt like he has not done honest business with me. He got really nasty and finally agreed to bring the correct dresser back but I would have to wait for it. Right after this, I was blocked from their FaceBook even though I hadn't done or said anything on social media whatsoever. It just proved he had something to hide. Due to this issue I did a temporary dispute for the amount of the dresser on my credit card, just until I received my corrected piece. I knew at this point I couldn't trust Shore Casual or Paul so I needed to cover myself in case I got screwed over again. Paul learned of this temporary dispute and called me. I couldn't get a word in during this conversation and had to speak to him as if he were a child since he kept shouting over me. He said "YOU'RE LUCKY YOU'RE NOT A MAN BECAUSE THIS SITUATION WOULD BE HANDLED MUCH DIFFERENTLY." He went on to say he has a lot of nasty things to say to me but is biting his tongue. He was continuously deny any wrongdoing on his part. After being threatened I told him I would just like a refund of the entire set and he can come pick it up. He didn't show on pick-up day luckily. It was only his drivers. But I had to have my father take off work and be there with me in case Paul was there. I didn't know what he would be capable of after how I was threatened. Paul is aggressive, disrespectful, an untrustworthy businessman, and a terrible boss to throw his staff under the bus. What a relief it was to get that furniture out of my apartment and never have to deal with that man again. Although it was 6 months of my time and energy wasted, I found a better solution for myself anyway and had my grandmother's old wood dressers restored and refinished for a fraction of the price. Word of advice if you are considering Shore Casual for new furniture.. DON'T. As nice as the furniture appears to be, it is not worth dealing with a man like Paul. God forbid you need any corrections, which you will since simple measurements seem to be a challenge, you will deal with the hassle of a lifetime. I would recommend going direct to an Amish builder. Cut out the middle man who is just making money off you anyway. read more

First off, I passed this store hundreds of times because we live very close to the one on Route 35 by West Park Ave. in Oakhurst. I always thought it was inexpensive, not quality furniture because when I looked through the windows when I would pass in my car the chairs were piled up on top of each other and other smaller items on top of others. Then my wife said we have to check it out because we needed two bedrooms worth of furniture and she heard about it on NJ 101.5 radio station. We went in and I was amazed at the quality of the furniture and we saw it was Amish made. We fell in love with it and looked at all the bedroom sets and spoke to the saleslady Royce. We told her we loved it and I'm sure she saw on our faces how much we loved it but we had to take measurements of what would fit. We came back a few days later with our tape measurer and were narrowing it down to what we would be getting. We were asking Royce questions. Could we get a headboard without getting the frame? Could we get different handles than those that were shown on the pieces we were looking at? She gave us short answers but we were satisfied. She said there was more things to look at on the website so at home we both saw a dresser that wasn't in the showroom Then we came in for what we now knew was going to be very close to being it and when we walked in, instead of greeting us with a hello and something nice, she asked us if we were "ready to buy?" That was a big turnoff for us right there but like I said we loved the furniture and was on the website and asked her if there were matching night tables for the dresser we saw online. It seemed by this point she wasn't very interested in helping us too much anymore. She answered the phone and my wife and I looked at each other and gave the rolling eyes looks to leave and we walked out. The furniture is A+ quality! (Way up there!) The service is D- (Way down there!). The furniture speaks for itself how good it is. It is SO GOOD that in my opinion, should be presented much better in the store windows and not on top of other pieces. I would put spotlights on groups of the furniture and make it look really nice and classy. The service is there, but does not go along with the price of the goods. We were going to buy two bedrooms sets (4 night tables, 2 dressers and and 2 beds!) This would've been very expensive but we always say you get what you pay for and we just wanted to make sure we were going to get exactly what we wanted for how much the total bill would be. I see by other reviews that they love the customer service. It wasn't in our case. Or maybe they had a different person or were at a different location. read more

We were in need of a few different pieces of furniture that we couldn't find anywhere. At first we didn't think of Shore Casual because we thought of them as just a dining furniture store. We were wrong. The first item we needed was a kitchen island that had to fit into certain dimension, color and functionality specs. Paul took his time with us to build a perfect island to fit our needs. We use it and love it daily. The second was a broom/mop closet to fit in a cubby at the top of our stairs. Shore Casual built us a rustic, grey finished barnwood cabinet that fit the bill perfectly. We are longtime customers of Paul and his staff at Shore Casual, and I'm sure we will be back for some high quality, American made, custom or semi custom furniture in the future. read more

Paul and family are very professional, love what they do and are incredibly passionate about furniture. We bought a dining set 5 years ago, and they were instrumental in helping us with the design, color choices, delivery, dates and the overall build of the furniture. In December 2019, we were moving the table so we could entertain 16 people for Christmas into another room. We accidentally place the table on it's side and place all the weight on the legs, thus breaking 2 of them. We called and Paul the owner answered, looked up our purchase date, called us back and communicated we needed to bring the legs down to the store. We did that and they loaned us 2 legs, while they sent the 2 legs out for repair, color match and said "no charge". That's right, no charge. They were as nice as they were 5 years ago, when we brought the legs down and picked them up. GREAT EXPERIENCE. Thank you, thank you and thank you. I learned about store from a local add, went there with my wife looking for a farm style dining set and could not be happier. The show room was filled with samples. My wife was able to customize the dining room set to exactly what she wanted. No hassles, the staff and owners where a pleasure to deal with, even allowing my wife to change the type of wood a couple of days later. The set arrived in the time frame stated, delivery was fast and their men very professional. The set is custom made, not out of stock and of the highest quality. Heavy ,sturdy and made to last. First, the place was quiet since Shore Casual Dinettes just opened for the day. I saw only two salespersons and one of them was helping another customer. The other salesperson came over but didn't introduce herself. She showed me only one table and chair set that might meet my needs. To the store's credit, there was a very large selection of tables and chairs and other assorted furniture. The table seemed well-made, but the price was high (and I wasn't looking for cheap or a bargain and I have been buying furniture for decades). Also, the table and chairs wouldn't be delivered for 12 to 16 weeks. I asked several questions about the product, what else there was (she gave a cursory look around and shrugged), and was there any way the table and chairs could be delivered sooner. She said "No, that's the way it is." The salesperson didn't care whether I walked out of the store or made a purchase. I walked out. read more

We have had 2 great experiences with Shore Dinettes. The first purchase was several years ago for a pub set that we still use, it's held up nicely for years! When we bought a new house we realized we needed a larger kitchen set but didn't want to buy anything online. We went right back to Shore Casual Dinettes and ordered our new set. They have endless options, and you can design the perfect set to fit your space and requirements. It took several weeks but arrived in beautiful condition, sturdy, well made, delivery was a breeze and the owner and his entire staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. After reading many wonderful reviews on Facebook and Google and having my brother and sister in law purchase a set from this store and be very happy, we decided to go to see if we could find the dining room set we had been searching for, for our home. I am so happy that we did. We are absolutely thrilled with our purchase from them! From the first time we set foot in the store we had a wonderful experience. We were looking for a slightly more elegant and formal look and never even realized with all of the custom options that they have that we could get exactly what we were looking for. If what you are looking for is not on the floor it doesn't mean it can't be done here! After customizing the look that we wanted and even getting to use our own fabric on the chairs, we placed our order. We were told a time period by the owner of approximately when the set would arrive. I believe our set may have arrived a week before scheduled. The guys came to deliver and they were great. They were very polite, courteous, helpful and very careful and clean while assembling our table. We are extremely happy with our set. It was even more beautiful than we had imagined. The quality was excellent! We did have a slight issue because we needed the bottom rail extended to fit our chairs under the table in a certain way since we only ordered 4 regular side chairs instead of 6. Again, the owner was wonderful. He apologized profusely and then bent over backwards to get the job done fast and we had our new bottom rail within 2 weeks or less. We were still able to use the rail that came with it until the new one came so we lost no time with our new table. Through that time the owner kept in touch with me giving me updates. When they did come to replace the bottom rail the guys were again extremely careful and made sure that everything was just perfect including the placement of the table under the chandelier! They took time to make sure it was just right. This was a stress free purchase with a wonderful company and we would highly recommend them. We plan to go back to purchase bar stools next. read more
