Locker room is consistently dirty and gross. There is no wall between sauna and toilets - also gross. Pool hours are limited.

This gym is smaller and more personal than most. I like it because of Steve Epperson. He is an…read moreextremely knowledgeable personal trainer. He focuses on fitness for life, not making you an extreme weightlifter. Although, he could do that if that's what you want. He works very well with knowing what a person needs at whatever their age. My balance and posture have greatly improved. Also, I am no longer losing muscle mass. I am much stronger than I have ever been without any bulk. When I go in with an ache or pain, I leave with it much better. Steve always knows what to do to help me. He also has knowledge of physical therapy, which is very helpful. I am not a gym person, but plan to stick with Steve until he retires, hopefully a long time from now. With his help, I can age with a quality of life.

Ultimate honest review of G3 Fitness from someone who's been going almost every day to G3 for about…read more5.5 years: Equipment: The equipment is decent. It obviously has dumbbells, a couple Smith machines, squat racks, benches, incline benches, a leg press machine, and some cables, which are all of decent quality. Unfortunately, there isn't any standout equipment: no pendulum squat machine, no adductor or abductor machines (which would be nice to see if they add in the future), and 90% of the equipment is at least 15 years old or more. The worst equipment in the gym is definitely the leg extension and hamstring curl machines; they've been bent on the far side of the machines where more leverage is applied, so one leg is always lower than the other. Additionally, many of the machines have torn-up synthetic leather, which can be really scratchy on bare skin. Wait times for machines are almost nonexistent at G3. The environment is chill, and you'll rarely ever wait to use a machine or equipment unless you're going at rush hour. Feedback for staff: It would be nice to see new hamstring curl and leg extension machines, and if you could find a way to replace some of the synthetic leather and foam under the equipment padding, that would be nice. Equipment rating: 6/10 Cleanliness: G3 has okay cleanliness at best. The gym is cleaned once a week on weekends, but daily cleaning is only done by members. There are multiple trash cans, paper towels, and spray bottles placed around the facility, but often you'll find that there are no paper towels in the holders. Smells in the gym can vary; every now and then the gym reeks of sewage, and sometimes smells like weed if the edgars show up. Overall, most of the time it smells fine, but if you start going to G3 you'll definitely get some unpleasant surprises at some point. Feedback: Daily wipe-downs of equipment and regular replacements of soap dispensers in bathrooms/towel dispensers would be nice. This could be solved by having a part-time employee do those tasks daily. Cleanliness rating: 5/10 Staff, Management, and Policies: Management is really bad. It's not that management is bad because they're rude or unkind to members; it's mostly bad because it's nonexistent. The gym is unmanned 24/7. In my 5-6 years of going to G3 Fitness, I've not once ever seen an employee behind the front desk. I've also had friends who have attempted to get G3 memberships and have spent months calling over and over again attempting to get management on the phone to buy a membership. On the flip side, I've had friends have to cancel their card to stop the recurring membership payments because they couldn't get anyone on the phone to cancel their membership. There have also been many times where there is an issue with the keycard scanner and you're not able to go inside, and since there's no staff, no one can let you in, so you'll have to wait for them to fix it the following day. Recently, they also closed the gym for a weekend to repaint the interior and gave one day's notice to members. I drank 300mg of caffeine and rolled up to the gym to hit a killer workout while tweakin' on pre-workout and blasting Volbeat, just to be met with a closed gym sign. The car ride home sucked. Lastly, staff has supposedly been extremely rude to many people I know, but they've never been specifically rude to me. Feedback: The gym definitely needs a part-time or full-time employee working the front desk, at least on weekdays, to answer phone calls and deal with customer service. I can't tell you the amount of times I've seen people knock on the door to sign up for a membership, or the keycard scanner be broken and no one manning the fort to let me in, or the amount of friends I've had that can't get anyone on the phone to sign up for a membership. An employee would solve the cleanliness problem and also maybe make you more money if more people are able to get memberships. Management rating: 1/10 Amenities: Doesn't have: - Pool - Sauna - Child care - Has a smoothie bar but is never used (no staff) Has: - Lockers - 1 shower (I imagine 1 for both bathrooms, but I've never been in the women's bathroom, so I'll have to do more research and ask a woman if there's a shower in there) - Water fountain: I would not recommend using it. it's very nasty. - Punching bag Feedback: Not much feedback for this one. It's a pretty bare-bones gym, and I don't think many people are expecting an Olympic swimming pool when they sign up for a G3 membership. Amenities rating: 8/10 Overall, it's great if you're looking for a quiet gym but I definitely wouldn't call it top of the line. They seem to be working on it, painting the inside and fixing some damaged dry so hopefully we'll see some more practical upgrades like new equipment or repaired equipment or most of all better music (im tired of mexican pop and pitbull, seriously don't forget your headphones if you go to G3). Final Gym rating: 5/10

The drop-in process was very easy for someone visiting from another Affiliate. During the first class the coach called me by name and was very helpful, both to me and the rest of the class. The whole class was very friendly! Granted, I have taken the Crossfit Kool-aid and can't do without regular exercise anymore - I have found a home with Crossfit and feel like they have found the perfect balance of training for strength, endurance, mobility and flexibility! As a 56 year old man who once went nearly 16 years without any deliberate exercise, getting involved with Crossfit has been a life-changing experience. I've lost over 40 lbs, recovered the stamina I had 20 years ago and, in some ways, become stronger than I've ever been! This gym is clean, friendly, and the coaches take personal care of each athlete and work with them at their own level. I recommend this Affiliate without any reservation.

They have available "Safety Necklaces" to wear during work out. A great feature specially if you have medical issues. Working out on one of the machines is enjoyable with the mountain views to the West overlooking Picacho Peak and others. These photos were taken early afternoon when it is usually quiet. Lisa the manager is outstanding always very helpful. When I enrolled Lisa gave me a business card for Oscar Carranza, personal trainer who would give me a one complimentary session. I didn't take the offer but I often see him assisting patrons. They regularly shampoo the carpet, so the gym always looks like new, no bad body odors like in other gyms. The only thing recommendation is to improve the cleanliness of the exterior. There has been debris in the same spots for a long time. They should reach out to the management of the plaza to take better care of the exterior of the businesses and the parking lot.

I pretty much go to the Telshor Planet Fitness about five times a week or more. The machines are well kept so I've never had an injury from the equipment there. I can go in and do what I need to do and leave. Many smiling faces. I had a CVA stroke December 3, 2024, and have worked at recovering. I found that I do better and recovered well going to the gym on my own and doing what I know I need to do then paying to go to physical therapy which I did at three of the physical therapy businesses here in Las Cruces. I've had more improvement with YouTube, some research, and PlanetFitness!!! I've also been a nurse and a nurse practitioner since 1990/1999. Now retired from that. Many in the younger generations don't realize that we paid way back in the 1960s and 1970s, hundreds of dollars a month to belong to a fitness center. We've come a long ways. The past couple weeks I've thought about trying other gyms here in Las Cruces but no, even though I would like to have a dry sauna and a basketball court with classes, I'm staying with the Planet Fitness on Telshore.
