I am not, nor have I ever been, a "gym rat". The idea of going to a gym has always incited a bit of…read moresocial anxiety in me. And this one was no different.. at first. Luckily for me, I got to know Dawn Armstrong, facility director, and she helped make me much more comfortable. I started with a few group classes just to familiarize myself with the facility. I tried Tai Chi, Spin, Yoga.. they were all pretty intense workouts! After that, I branched out on my own a little bit and got more familiar and comfortable with the other areas. The best thing about this gym is that, with CaC registration, you get 24 hour access! Although, it is limited to the outer facilities. In the main gym is a free weight room, cross fit-esque room, spin/yoga room, racquetball court, basketball court, and m/f saunas and locker rooms. These only allow access during business hours (0530-2000 M-f and 0730-1600 Sat) The two outer facilities are 24 hr accessible. One is a cardio room with treadmills, ellipticals, stair steppers, bikes, and a row machine. The other is the nautilus equipment room with a full range of machines, dumbbells, kettlebells, and squat bar/rack. It's not exactly a top of the line, super huge and fancy type of facility .. but for WSMR with it's small population, it gets the job done!

She is warm and welcoming, and really listens to each individual to ensure that their practice is tailored to your needs, any injuries, etc. She always does the first session as a private instruction, to get to know you and your needs/goals/limitations. In group sessions, she's extremely attentive and present to each person, and uses hands-on guidance for correction, which I appreciate. It's also nice that even as we work through traditional core Pilates exercises, she changes it up just enough each session on the reformer to keep me challenged and engaged. The workouts are thoughtful and will leave you feeling stronger (and sweatier!). During the pandemic, LCBC has offered online workouts that have been invaluable. Having a Coach that is supportive and knowledgeable has kept me invested in this gym. It's affordable, it's community-based (guys, this gym donates to local and national causes!), and even offers bonus workouts, Zoom classes, and opportunities to get to know other gym members. Finally got to bring my very energetic toddlers here. They have different rooms from social…read moresituations (e.g. grocery shopping activities), arcade game room, sensory room, arts/crafts and active play center. It's really colorful, all inclusive and very entertaining. Kids come in, take socks off and have the freedom to go into whichever room, and have a blast! It's really nice to let them burn energy while learning, etc. especially while it's not warm enough to be outside at a playground. They offer memberships and drop in options. Their pricing is maybe a bit high for one hour of play, but I think it's a great option if you live close by or just go occasionally. Only thing I'd suggest is bathrooms that are more kid-friendly (height-wise). But it's cool that they have extra changing stuff for our diaper-wearing kiddos. All in all, great experience. Becky who's the member of staff there is really nice and socializing with the other parents was very really nice too. This is a great business for the Las Cruces community. Highly recommend.
