spent a good 6 months taking classes here and although i'm not a morning person and was new to hiit, i loved it. once i got used to the format and built up some strength, it became very challenging in a good way. I would just recommend that new people take it easy for the first classes and maybe take more of the strength days (Monday/Tuesday) and weekends. With strength classes, it would be easier to go easy. I have been going to Fitwall since last October (minus the 2+ months closed for covid) and I have to say I love this place. I echo other people when I say this is a type of group fitness class I can get behind. I have tried Orangetheory and several other group training gyms but usually quite after a few months. Fitwall changes up the workouts every 3 weeks and every day of the week is different. I personally love Monday- Wednesday's as they are more strength based and I like being challenged and encouraged by the coaches to up the weights when capable from week 1 to week 3 of that workout. Speaking of the coaches they are great. I have taken classes with all and all our encouraging and pump you up to keep going. I can't hold myself very accountable without a coach and others in the room doing the workout too, so this place is great for that. If my neighbor is gonna run up and down the wall targeting I guess I'll do it too! During this Covid time Fitwall has been great with online videos, park outside workouts and inside workouts. Yes we currently have to wear masks inside but it just ups the challenge! The coaches and staff have been keeping the gym extra clean and only letting 9 people in and they clean everything between classes and have these solid (while a little goofy your first day) curtains up between stations. I live in the neighborhood and have been curious since I moved in and finally made the commitment. I got 2 weeks before the Challenge included and between Aug 31 and Oct 11 I took 24 classes. Within the 30 day time period I went to 18 classes, followed the meal recommendations -high protein, moderate carb, low fat- (with a few moments of grace for myself), and lost 8 pounds and 5 inches. I'm very proud of the dedication I put in and have since joined as a member. Looking forward to what is to come! I had taken some classes at the Speer location awhile back and always wanted to try one of the 30-day challenges. A few years and a few unwanted pounds later, I convinced my friend to sign up with me. We just finished about a week ago and both had amazing success. I lost 7.5 lbs and 5 inches and the 30 days flew by! The workouts were definitely intense but are adaptable and go so fast. I love that you can get that much out of 40 minutes. ALL of the staff is amazing. They are friendly, kind, encouraging and fun. The nutrition knowledge I gained as part of the challenge was really invaluable. The plan was sustainable, realistic and fulfilling. I hardly had cravings and felt full most of the time. I had fun trying the recipes and it challenged me to change some assumptions about my eating habits. I felt empowered by the whole experience and was so happy with the results. I found Fitwall and the 30-day weight loss challenge through an ad on Instagram and impulsively decided to sign up, knowing very little about what I was getting into. On Day 1, Hannah walked me through the meal plan and answered my questions at the initial weigh-in, then led my first class. I got lucky because Fitwall turned out to be the kind of workout I've been looking for, where you work different muscles while resting others, keeping your heart rate up the entire forty minutes of class. I appreciate the efficiency and variation of the workouts throughout the week (and month), as well as the supportive, yet challenging, environment the trainers I experienced (Hannah, Dieter, and Alyssa) cultivate. Although I didn't meet the weight loss challenge goals (I realized quickly that low-fat is not for me!), the meal plan provided me with a framework to evaluate my diet and adjust my eating habits without feeling like I'm compromising. I lost enough weight that I feel healthier and stronger in my body, and I'm hoping I can continue that progress while I keep attending Fitwall classes. I guess I'm hooked! read more

I just finished the 30 day challenge and I'm so glad I did! The first few classes were really intimidating. But doing the challenge really pushed me to be accountable. After a week (3 classes) I felt so much stronger. While I probably won't stick around for a membership cause of the cost I'm very happy with doing the month challenge. Great gym, loved the fat loss challenge. The 30 day fat loss challenge was a big success for me (lost 10 pounds and 3" off my gut alone!). All the recipes were really tasty and I really never felt hungry despite the calorie deficit. This was my first weight bearing exercise since surgery and treatment for a bone disease. The instructors were very supportive, fun, and offered great modifications when needed. The fat loss challenge was exactly what I needed to kickstart my health. I feel it retrained my brain from eating and drinking poorly and taught me much healthier practices, which I have kept up with. While the workouts were a bit intense for my joints currently, I really enjoyed them and feel so much stronger and clear-headed than I have in months. I plan to keep coming to fitwall while mixing in other workouts to help my bones. They have an exceptional team (so fun!) and I really enjoyed the challenge with them. read more

I've attended Fitwall from December - May, and then took June and July off because I'm a teacher and my summers are pretty hectic. During my two month break, I signed up for ClassPass, and have been able to try out a bunch of other gyms across the city. Listen. None of them hold a candle to Fitwall. I find myself spending all my remaining credits at Fitwall because it is just the best. I am ready to be back to my regular schedule because i am ready to be back at Fitwall. Here's why: 1) love the HIIT style training. They operate in 3 week intervals, where every Monday has the same exercises for 3 weeks (and Tuesdays and Wednesdays and so on), and that's great because you can watch yourself improve over the course of those weeks. Mondays are super strengthy, and the exercises become more cardio-focused as the week progresses. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays are my favorite days, because they combine weights and cardio! 2) the instructors are amazing! They're so kind and so knowledgeable. I have a lot of knee problems and they're always quick to give me alternatives. I also don't ever feel judged by anyone for having to modify (example: no one is going to look at me sideways for doing air squats instead of jump squats). And with that, the community is super amazing too! All tough people who want to grow and be better! 3) the 40 minutes will kick your ass. Every. Single. Time. 4) I'm easily in the best shape of my life, and I'm 30, and I played so much competitive soccer when I was younger. I'm the strongest I've ever been! I have arm muscles that are VISIBLE! I can do HEAVY squats! It's the best feeling! Look, you need to sign up through ClassPass or for a free week or whatever it takes to get you in the door. Then you'll be hooked, you'll join the Fitwall Fam, and then you'll be on your way to your best physical and mental self. Trust me! read more

Y'all this gym. So, I did the 30 day fat/weight loss challenge. I went 4 times a week for 4 weeks...and here are my thoughts. 1. Workouts. Amazing. Super tough and unlike anything I've ever tried before. I've done personal trainers, hot yoga, kickboxing, beachbody, sports all my life...this is the toughest workout I've had in a 40 min time period. The mix of weights, working up and down the wall, cardio, HIIT, and using general body weight is a really awesome challenge and builds muscle fast. I feel such a difference in my shoulders/arms and legs. It's all set to fun music to workout to, and it makes such a difference being in a class setting with a coach vs being at home. You definitely push yourself harder, and the coaches push you to try things you wouldn't necessarily try weight lifting wise. (Though they definitely give modifications if you have any injuries.) It doesn't matter your skill level because you can always go up or down intensity levels, but the idea is to push yourself as hard as you can for 40 min. Being in the class setting with fun music and hard moves that you don't get bored with or tired of are what makes it a fun and tough workout. Obviously, you go to a gym for the workout, and I give that an A+. 2. Cleanliness. Awesome! Any gym I've ever been to where you use any kind of mat is gross. It smells. You feel like you're at a gym and you want to wash your hands immediately. This one is SUPER clean. Students wipe down their entire station and then the staff cleans the whole gym afterwards. No smell and I don't feel gross after leaving. A+ 3. Trainers. Amazing! I honestly thought every trainer was amazing. They obviously all practice the workouts themselves, so they knew which parts were hard and where to push. (Does that make sense? They were connected to the workouts so you feel like you're in good hands because they've done it themselves...) They knew great modifications for any moves you weren't sure about. Upbeat, fun, nice, friendly, hardworking, super in shape, welcoming, informative, funny......do you need more?? A+ 4. Perks. They bring you cold (clean) towels to lay on your head after the workout. Like, what?! And they have a nice smell! lol What more could you want? A+ To wrap up, I would definitely recommend this gym. For my 30 day challenge, I went 4 times a week for 4 weeks and lost 5.5 inches and 6 pounds. I feel stronger and my pants fit better. An overall win! Thanks Fitwall - Washpark. I signed up for the 30-day challenge and have to say this gym is great - as are the results! It's easy to fit the shorter workouts into my week and the variety keeps me motivated. All the classes have been good, but Hannah's are my favorite. Great music and energy! Having back issues, I need to modify a lot of exercises. Some instructors are better at showing modifications right up front, but all are very responsive if you ask for help. Not having worked out in years, I was worried I'd feel uncomfortable about keeping up - but the atmosphere is genuinely encouraging and accommodating. The pressure I felt to push myself when I knew I shouldn't is totally on me. So, unfortunately, I'm dealing w/ some knee pain. That said, there is a lot of up and down from the floor to the wall, so be sure to ask for modifications right away if you need to build up to this. So glad I took part in the Challenge! read more

I cannot recommend this gym enough! I joined the 30-day fat-loss challenge that some of you may have seen on Facebook. Over the past month, I have established a new routine that allows me to prioritize my fitness goals and have created new food habits with the help of numerous online resources and the coaching team. Most importantly, I feel like I have made these changes in a safe and sustainable way. I have spent the past 10 years dealing with a back injury and have often found myself at a gym that unsafely pushes me to the point of reinjury, creating a cycle of injury, physical therapy/recovery, then having to build new habits again. At Fitwall, the coaches know that I have a back injury and check in with me to see how I'm doing. They provide modifications, both to make things easier and more challenging, so that everyone in the class is appropriately challenged. Additionally, they have classes offered at times that work for me - the 5:15am group is amazing! Classes are 40 minutes long, but I always leave feeling like I worked hard and am already seeing results. Plus, this community makes getting up before 5am something I look forward to, and that's saying a lot! :) read more

I've been working out at Fitwall Wash Park for one month and I love it! The instructors and staff are very friendly, especially Cliff and Drew. I really appreciated the fact that after telling Cliff about not being able to work a certain muscle group during my first class, that he actually remembers every time I come in and gives me suggestions on how to modify moves. It's conveniently located and within walking distance of where I live and has plenty of street parking. The workouts themselves are challenging and go by so quickly which is awesome! I like that each days workout has a different focus but you get to continuously track your improvements as the workouts continue for three weeks. read more

I love Fitwall!! I just completed a 1 month FITWALL challenge (classes, nutrition, support) where I lost 4 inches from my waist! Prior to joining the challenge I had already started to exercise a bit and had clean up my diet so this was an amazing result! My tummy is flatter and I am feeling stronger. This gym offers a really fantastic 30day fat loss program that uses a diet and workout regimen that is completely reasonable! I have been working out and counting calories for years and have never seen results so fast! I wasn't starving, I wasn't working out 6days a week and I lost 7.5" and 4" off my stomach. I was skeptical at first since I was already fairly healthy and felt that I had hit a plateau. I feel more knowledgeable about what kind of nutrition I need to see results. Although I have been very fit, on and off throughout my life, Fitwall opened my eyes to a level of fitness that I had forgotten about. My weight had crept up over the years and I found them at the perfect time during my journey back to a reasonable weight level. I was concerned that I might plateau after losing 12 pounds prior to joining Fitwall, but I lost another 16.8 pounds and 4.5 inches around my belly in my first 25 days of following the Fitwall meal plan and going to 3 classes per week!!! The staff of Fitwall are amazing in that they are extremely supportive, both, in class and in following up with periodic texts during the week. Sure, the initial texts appeared to be "canned", but the replies to my replies were 100% in response to my questions and concerns, very specific, and very helpful. I saw an ad on Facebook for the 30 day fat loss challenge, and decided that it would be a great thing to try being new in town. It definitely was! The whole staff is really great and personable and I even made a friend in my group! The classes are challenging and fun. I definitely left feeling like I got a great workout every time. They also bring you a nice cold towel (infused with essential oils) at the end of class which was a fun perk! But most importantly, I saw amazing results in my fitness and overall health. The 30 day challenge includes nutritional support with a customized nutrition plan, and that really made things so easy! The goal is either to lose 10 pounds or 3 cumulative inches. I started at 127-129 lb (I'm 5'6") so my goal was inches. I did lose a couple pounds, but I lost about 6" of body fat altogether and I can totally see and feel a difference. I have been attending this location for the past month and I really like it! This workout is a nice change of pace and I appreciate how they switch it up every few weeks. Each day's workout is also different so it doesn't get repetitive. I also feel like I can go at my own pace which is nice. They also have great instructors; shout out to Maddie and Cliff! However, there are some instructors who are better at making corrections to form than others; not everyone does and I wish they did. I did the 30 day challenge and lost 77lbs and 5" around my body. This is a great fitness studio! It is 40 minutes of non-stop action - they are never boring, as the exercises are always changing.
