For what it's worth-- Fitzgerald's does the job. My roommate and I were looking for a hotel within close proximity of the BART (it's close to the Powell Street stop) and all for relatively cheap. We were able to score a room for about $60/ night here-- not too shabby! The room was TINY though. I read a couple of other reviews for Fitzgerald's and someone mentioned a mini fridge?! I didn't have such accommodations but it wouldn't have really made a difference to me anyways. The hotel is pretty old but still has alot of charm. It even has a rickety, old school elevator (it's safe though, don't worry!). Other perks of a stay at Fitzgerald's was that there was a free Continental breakfast (the standard bagels, toast, pastries, OJ, coffee dealie), an extremely knowledgeable staff (they actually had good recommendations) and an in-house wine bar/ restaurant. I did mention that Fitzgerald's was close to the BART, not to mention a sweet crepe restaurant, a 24 hour convenience store and a whole slew of shops. While Fitzgerald's isn't exactly the Ritz, it's a decent place to stay in SF, while not breaking the bank. read more

I stayed here in June '11 and wouldn't stay again. My room was a decent price, but not worth at the same time. My review hovers between 2 and 3 stars, but my policy is to round up and give a business that benefit. The location is decent. It's walking distance from Powell BART station as well as other Union Square shopping and food. Convenience store on corner kept me in diet pop for my stay. Check-in was okay, but after I took the very small elevator to the top floor, my key card didn't work so back down to the lobby I went. Once I finally got in the room, I discovered there wasn't much room. Double bed, nightstand and a chair. That's all the furniture. No dresser, no closet. The small tv was mounted to the wall and there were brackets mounted to the wall as well for a makeshift closet. There was a luggage rack for my suitcase. This was officially the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in, and I've encountered small rooms in Europe. Luckily, the bathroom was a good size so that made it less awkward. The amenities are few. There is breakfast in the basement, but it was basically bagels, toast and fruit. I toasted a bagel, but the cream cheese was frozen. There is wifi, so that was nice. No ice machine---at least on my floor, if there's one, it'd be on street level or basement. My biggest grievance is that I was on 6th floor and for 1/3 of my stay the single elevator was under repair. Coming down wasn't too terrible, but up was brutal. It was especially grueling after walking uphill to the hotel to then climb six flights of stairs. Once I was up, I wasn't leaving, which put a damper on my last day. Essentially, I'd say it's not terrible, but I'd stay elsewhere if possible. read more

Need a clean, chill and safe budget hotel in a central location? This spot will do just fine. I stayed here for 2 weeks whilst transitioning to the left coast during my cross-country move. The staff is cool and helpful, free breakfast and there's even a decent little wine bar in the lobby. Some rooms are decent sized. Others (like right next to the elevator) are, umm, "cozy". I took a peak in at one during maid service; good for one person though. Tip: get a room in the back of the hotel and not right next to the elevator to avoid extra noise made by hallway traffic and all that. All and all, great spot for the money. read more

Okay, there's no getting around the fact that the room was small BUT the price and location SO MUCH out weigh that. We had never been to SF and booked based on Yelp reviews. We were NOT disappointed. Room, again although small, was clean and comfortable. What more do you need. Location is perfect for those of you who want to explore on foot or hop on any of the many public transit options. OK, we booked one night at the Fitzgerald and the room itself was fine although we didn't get much of a deal on the room, for a Friday night around the holidays. While the small bathroom smelled a bit musty it was very clean and the bed was OK, if a bit firm. Decor was a bit kitschy with red and gold brocade fabric and honestly, the smallest TV I have ever seen, about 15", I would guess. The cause for the low rating is the service, or lack of same. Mainly, the check in staff was not friendly, was distracted and worst of all, the valet service used by the hotel (a parking garage whose staff shuttled the cars back and forth) was atrocious. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our car and to add insult to injury were told numerous times, "It's coming, just five more minutes," then the attendant brought the wrong car and had to return it, then when we were fuming, were told, "Your battery died and they had to jump it." Funny, because the car had a brand new Sears Die hard battery in it. Bottom line, if you can get a really great rate, it's OK, but don't expect any service and definitely park your own car nearby, there are a few places within a block of the hotel. read more

Stayed here for 3 nights in September. Pros: THE LOCATION. Right near union square. The hotel was very cute and cozy. The service was very helpful and friendly. The prices beats out many nearby hotels that did not have nearly as good a rating as this hotel. Paid $130 for weekday and a little more for the weekend. Free, good breakfast every morning. You can also go to it's sister hotels for a change-up. The rooms were cute and had a lot of things I usually like to have in a hotel: fridge, working hairdryer, coffee maker, and a tv. Cons: the biggest con of this place was that there is NO AC INSIDE THE ROOMS. The time I went in Sept. it was blazing hot outside and so it was very difficult to sleep. We were told to "just open the window" and use the little fan supplied in the room. Effectiveness? Negative. Also, the elevator, which looked really charming at first, ended up being loud nuisance at night bc it slams VERY LOUDLY every time someone exits. read more

This is an old, bare bones hotel. The city is an expensive place and this hotel, though a lower end one was still over $400 for 2 nights (taxes included). Our itty bitty petite double room was on the 3rd floor, right near the old elevator and had we not kept the fan on while in the room (no A/C), the elevator noise would have been bothersome. The bed was so uncomfortable but the linens appeared to be clean. The screen-less window faced a brick wall but we weren't in the room except to shower and sleep so the lack of view didn't bother us. Wi-fi yes. Cable, no. We did not partake in the breakfast provided but I did take a peak at it and they offered coffee, a variety of breads, jams, cut and whole fruit - pretty basic. We arrived via BART so we had no need for parking thankfully. The hotel provided what we needed and the proximity to many hot spots was good so I'll give the hotel 3 starts. That said, every inch of the room was covered in grime. What this place needs is some good old fashioned elbow grease and STAT! P.S. If you are walking your way to Market, I suggest staying off of Taylor St. and some of the surrounding streets, especially if you are with children. It's pretty rough. read more

If you need a room in a pinch, and don't want to spend tons of money, this place works. I stayed here by myself, and it was an overall good experience. I realize there are a lot of things to complain about regarding this hotel, but the most important points on my list for staying were checked. It was clean, I felt safe, and the bed was comfortable enough. That being said, it does get HOT. I thought it wouldn't be a big deal, but because there was no screen on the window, I didn't feel comfortable leaving the window open while I slept, and I did wake up in the middle of the night sweating and needing to stand in front of the open window for a few minutes. Parking was also a huge drag, but that was to expected, since it's in a city where getting to park anywhere remotely close to where you plan to be is a luxury. Pros: Clean, affordable (considering I was in SF), no weird smell/suspicious sheets, moderately comfortable bed, ceiling fan, mostly helpful desk-staff, charming, big window, near lots of places to eat, drink, and get coffee. Cons: Loud area, parking sucks (the garage is 1-2 blocks up the hill), pretty thin walls, no screen on the window, no A/C, no view, elevator was a hassle (I took the stairs after I used it once), small room and bathroom, right near a liquor store, tiny lobby, outdated. read more

This hotel is amazing for what it is. Let me start by saying that you are in San Francisco... which means EVERYTHING is expensive, the city is old and dirty, and there are homeless people everywhere. It doesn't matter if you spend $100 or $500 on a hotel, these are the facts of the city. Fitzgerald hotel offers you a great price for a CLEAN, PRIVATE room just a couple blocks outside Union Square. The price and location are perfect. The room was small, but again clean and had a private bath unlike most budget hotels in the area. And its not in the Tenderloin. Keep in mind, the hotel is 100 years old, so it needs some updating and isn't perfect... but they try to make it nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. For the price and location, this place was fine. It's definitely a budget-friendly hotel and reflects that. The front desk service was very good, particularly one gentleman who went above and beyond to help us during our stay. The rooms were adequately clean but the bathrooms could use some new fixtures and updating. Our one gripe was that the water took a very long time to get hot, and some days it was just lukewarm. It's also pretty noisy due to the location. If you're not a heavy sleeper, I may look for something a little more removed from a major street. The elevator is cute, but also a little strange; it fits two people with luggage at most, and opening the gate while also toting a suitcase was a little tricky. If you just want a place to keep your stuff and sleep in, in a good city location, and don't mind some noise, this is a decent choice. read more

Not a good experience. Aside from the room being very tiny, there was NO "air" what so ever. The only option was to open a large window that opened up to a parking lot that seemed to be a hangout for the locals - translates to... very noisy! They apparently only have central heating; and a small fan for your room! If they're going to categorize themselves as a "Bed and Breakfast", they need to offer more than just bagels and coffee (oh, and O.J.)! read more

I stayed here during the Christmas holidays. Like everyone else the room was not huge, but hell I was not moving to California I only needed somewhere to sleep and sleep I did. The bathroom again was not my two mirror roman bathtub with lighted candles along the top, but it was big enough for what I needed and that was somewhere to stay. Not sure who the AAA person talked to, but I received my discount just fine. The greatest thing is the location. I went everywhere in the city with a 30 minute walk or a 30 minute bus ride. And let me tell you I went everywhere. Just ask my feet. If you're looking for the Waldorf Astoria you won't find it here. But if you need a bargain in San Francisco then the Fitzgerald is a great place. read more

We stayed at The Fitzgerald for the weekend and we absolutely LOVED it! We stayed in room 501, the fifth floor. We had a room facing the street which was lovely. It was loud but that didn't bother us at all (what do you expect being that close to Union Square). The staff was very friendly and very helpful, they answered all of our questions. We had a room with queen bed. Also hair dryer, desk, fridge, little coffee maker. Honestly all amenities that you would normally receive in a hotel were provided. We needed extra towels and they were ran up to our room IMMEDIATELY. Housekeeping staff was kind and did a great job. The old elevator was pretty cool, the hotel is old, but has a cool vintage feel. We took BART and buses everywhere and we were walking distance from everything. We went to several restaurants nearby and everything was fabulous. Also a little convience/liquor store on the corner which was really convenient. We will be staying here again! read more

This will be my third time staying at the fitzgerald, and again it was a joy. They initially had no rooms left when i called to make a reservation, but the girl on the phone was so helpful, she tracked down her manager and called me back when a room became free! really sweet of her. The room itself was super clean, very quiet and the hotel is so central, you just cant find anything to complain about! the free breakfast is fantastic and they certainly dont skimp! the staff are really helpful as i already mentioned, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Everything you would want to see in san francisco is either within walking distance, or reachable by close by public transport. Great for shopping and sight seeing, literally 10 mins walk tops to china town and the main shopping district. I think its important to review my experience at the hotel as reviews on the net are what helped me find this hotel in the first place, and im so pleased i did :) read more

Pretty run-down, bare basics. SMALL room, NO AIR-CONditioning! (We had a fan in the room) Everything in the place needs a coat of fresh paint. Curtains and bedspreads are tired. TV is approx 14inches. Staff at front desk seems pretty indifferent at first, but turned out to be friendly enough. What I wasn't told was it was near the hotel laundry facilities and I think the heat that generates goes right into room 102 Bottom line: If its a cold night in the city, you should be fine in terms of temperature. If it's warm like it was for me, the room is too hot and there's no A/C so I wasn't super happy Also 102 is street level, so potential for noise, but windows did decent job of keeping noise out The room is what you'd expect for such a low price near union square. Location is great for getting around SF, everything else is subpar. The room is small, as is the bed and you can hear your neighbours flushing the toilet. But that could be expected for the price you pay I suppose. What is the worst is the lack of joy and ambition to be a nice and cozy place this hotel radiates. Almost the entire staff seems to hate their job and they dont bother hiding this. During our two nights we stayed here we haven't encountered a staff member who showed any signs of enjoying their day and/or having the professional attitude to be service minded. Examples: People don't smile or say hello, the bald gay at the reception desk has tons of attitude and smirk, housekeeping told us to wait (up to three times!) when we wanted to use the elevator to get to the fifth floor with all our luggage because they wanted to use it. So we had to carry all our luggage up the stairs. During breakfast you get to enjoy a TV that they put on a very high volume. There are tons of places in the same price range where you'll have a much more pleasant stay. Still enjoyed our second visit to SF, great city! read more

Liked the room although it was very cramped for a queen, if you have a child and use a stroller do not come here it's a huge hassle. Elevator is tiny and complicated. And they don't seem to know how a deposit works, gave 50 and I've been sitting for 30 minutes trying to get it back but they are saying the man the night before didn't put it in his notes. So I am guessing theyre pocketing money. On a positive note at least the man working nights was very polite and very helpful. read more

Small rooms, no cable, old beds, clean but looks pretty worn, WiFi sucks, decent location, the breakfast area has a lovely view of the laundry room, the elevator inspection certificate is over a year out of date, thin walls, no views, and tiny bathrooms. This place is a complete and utter dump. The first room offered was facing an alley with a prison style mesh security door covering the window. To open the non locking window you had to open this massive screen and guess what? You get a view of an alley with homeless people and a brilliant smell of human waste. The next room I was offered was on the 6th floor and quite frankly it looked like a teenager on LSD decorated it and it was so small my fiance and I wouldn't be able to do anything but bump into each other or sleep on the bed. The final room was on the 5th floor directly above the first room we were offered and similar in that it face the alley but the breeze and height dissipated the smell of urine. The window was broken tho and would not open out to The fire escape or close completely, leaving a 4-5 inch gap. That was extremely helpful when the garbage trucks came at 6am and were slamming around. It was better when the construction crew started up their jack hammer and concrete saws and there was no way to even attempt to close the window. The rooms are dingy. Small. So old that they are bowed. I mean literally bowing toward the middle. There were holes in the wall covered up by a plasterer from hell. Screws sticking out for some reason. The TV is about the size of a laptop and there is no cable. The towels were paper thin and the toilet paper was almost transparent. The toilet seat wasn't se cured to the commode. The bathroom mirror was flaking off and the end table lamp was broken and would not work at all. What was really scary was the electrical was an octopus of cords and wires behind the fridge. I know this because the only place that I could plug in the fan was there. This place does not have central air. Now for the best part. The staff doesn't care. I complained about the window, the lamp and the staff didn't care. I called the front desk for a new roll of TP and was told to come get it. They didn't have anyone to bring it up. WTF? This place is homeless shelter at worst...should Be out of business at best. read more

We booked with Adelaide Hostel and ended up here as it is their "sister" location. The lobby is clean and provides brochures, maps and local papers to help figure out a plan for your stay. The staff was all friendly and helpful. We were on the 5th floor and were able to use the charming gated elevator when needed. The rooms were very small, but extremely affordable. They were clean, comfy, plenty of fresh air from the windows and they supplied you with an iron, hair dryer, tissues, phone, cable tv, a fridge and toiletries. Being a 10 minute walk from Union Square and 15 minute was to the BART was ideal! The breakfast was simple, but free! I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to the Bay area! read more

This was a fantastic place for me to stay when I was traveling alone in San Francisco. My single room only cost $400 for a week, and it was great! The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom very clean and they didn't scrimp on pillows or towels. Many reviewers have complained the rooms are small, which is true, but if you're spending your days sightseeing and your nights out on the town, why do you need a spacious hotel room? This hotel is in the heart of downtown SF with great restaurants nearby (like Fino next door!) and Union Square less than a 2 minute walk away. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful too, but I still think my favorite charm of the Fitzgerald is the rickety old elevator. I'm definitely coming back here. read more

really crappy hotel but hey, what do you expect when you don't want to spend a fortune or take out a small loan to stay in san francisco lol the nice thing is it is in the city and near union square and I just took a trolley on down to fishermans wharf. i'm not a fancy guy but man oh man, I learned to appreciate other hotels I have stayed in. checking in was easy and parking was not too bad, I think I paid $17 at a garage not too far away and it was overnight parking. the hotel is really old and has somewhat creepy vibes to it but I get to my room and I kid you not, I open the door and I could literally touch the bed without stepping foot inside the room, it was that small. bathroom was spooky and the view from my room was a wall (good thing I didn't plan on being in the room in san fran) the view though was literally just four walls and you could see other windows from other rooms and if there was a fire, there is literally no way out if you crawled out the window because it just drops down and like I said, it was 4 walls enclosed. I am not going to rate this 1 star because I am a fair reviewer and this place did the job, putting a roof over my head for the night. I think I paid $150 per night if i'm not mistaken. read more

1. The elevator inspection has been EXPIRED FOR 15 MONTHS!! When I questioned management and asked to see the new inspection, they claimed that it had been done 5 months ago but they hadn't received the certificate yet. Ok, I get it: city bureaucracy is slow. So I asked to see the paperwork that shows that the inspection has been performed, and after a few moments of radio silence, the owner offered to email it to me in the next day or two. Seems to me if your elevator inspection is 15 months expired, you should have that info readily available. I'll be calling the city about that today. 2. The first room which I was given (504), apart from looking more like a cheap motel room rather than a "boutique hotel" wasn't even clean. There was a wet, dirty rag on the ironing board, and the fan was covered in dust which it was kindly spraying all over the room. I do understand that hotel rooms in Union Square are small, but small is no excuse for shabby and unclean. 3. When I called the front desk for someone to come clean the fan, I was informed that that wouldn't be possible as the guy at the front desk was the only person on staff. Because apparently they think it's a wise idea to leave one person on staff in the evening (7pm) when the entire hotel is booked for an Oracle convention. I cleaned the fan myself. 4. The next day, I spoke with the manager who offered me another room instead (604), which was a slight improvement. He checked on its cleanliness himself before I went in. You'll be able to recognize the manager of this "boutique hotel" near Union Square because he's the one wearing jeans and a zip-up hoodie; it's easy to mistake him for the maintenance man. 5. After all of that, at no point did anyone say, "We're really sorry about all of this, and we'd like to offer you a discount," or anything even remotely like that. So let's summarize: unclean rooms, potentially unsafe elevator, poor customer service. Go anywhere else. Anywhere. read more

This hotel was great. Just a few blocks distance to great shopping in Union Square. It is an old hotel who to some may feel the looks are outdated but I loved everything about it. Overall very clean. Good quality towels in your room. The room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor, with windows that looked out onto the busy street, so it can be a bit noisy in the early morning but not too bad at all. The room had very comfy double beds, a microwave, mini fridge and a great size tv with free WiFi. The staff was very friendly and someone is always available at the front desk to assist you. They provided breakfast that was simple, but just what we needed to start our day in a cozy room located in the basement. We were traveling with our 6 year old son and felt very safe and comfortable with him staying here. We never waited more than 5 minutes for an Uber pickup from this hotel and the prices were not bad at all to get us to the main city sights. I look forward to visiting again! read more

I am sitting in the hotel room right now and created a yelp account just so I can leave a review for this place and help warn people of a high risk of negative experiences. When I arrived, I was poorly greeting at the front desk. I was given my room key and shown to the sketchy elevator that should have been replaced years ago. Once in my room, I was quite tired and ready for bed, but the fire alarm had a low battery and started chirping. I called down to the front desk and the clerk came up with a replacement battery. Apparently he grabbed another bad battery and the chirping continued. He said asked if I wanted a new room, which I agreed to and he left to prepare a key. After taking his sweet time, i was shown to a new room. We walked up the rickety stairs to a new room. The clerk never even bothered to help Me with my bags... Overall this whole precess took almost an hour. The room I finally got was at least quiet of chirping fire alarms, but was no better in appearance or comfort. The bed is hard, the water out of the bathroom sink is yellow, the coffee machine is broken, the walls are paper thin and overall this place is a waste of money. The only positive about this place is hot water in the shower... Do yourself a favor and find a different place to stay. read more

We have stayed here several times over the past few years and I've always been very happy with them. The rooms are very small, but they have the feel of a quaint European hotel. Pros: great location low price for the area a good set of in-room amenities (TV, coffee maker, hair dryer, etc.) free wireless internet access in the rooms really nice products in the bath tiny antique elevator (it's a hoot to ride) decor (not to my taste, but they put some effort into it so if you like the Victorian style, you'll, be impressed) Hidden Vine wine bar is in the same building Cons: cramped rooms could hear noise from the hall (but not other rooms) read more

A bargain lodging place, just blocks from Union Square, the premiere shopping district of The City. In the next block are the Bohemian Club and the Olympic Club, two of SF's most exclusive private clubs. You'll have to know a club member to get inside those establishments. In any case, The Fitzgerald is a charming older hotel. My room was small, yet quite adequate for my purposes, as I was attending a conference and trade show at the Moscone Center, which is also within walking distance. Part of its charm is the antique elevator, with its accordion gate. As signs posted in the lobby and elsewhere remind you, the front desk must be called to send the elevator to your floor. Of course, be very careful about opening the door to the elevator if the lift is not at your floor! I wholeheartedly recommend The Fitzgerald to visitors from overseas and from around the U.S. read more

OK for the price (2 double beds $100/per night with tax included in that price)...this is not a bad option. Quaint feel and very cozy...fridge, microwave, 2 beds, oversized chair, a small night stand inbetween beds, and dresser type chest of drawers with lcd flat screen...not to mention my room was in the front over the lobby. WOW...the view of the neighborhood is great with huge windows that open. It was mild to warm during the day but just open the windows and turn on the ceiling fan. At night is a bit chilly but just shut the windows....but keep ceiling fan on to circulate air. Average size bathroom. The service is great...in fact the people at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. If ya like Thai, then you are in luck for there are a dozen or so ona 3 block radius. Also Subway, Quizno's and JackntheBox around the corner or a couple of blocks...either way, why would ya eat there with all the wonderful eateries on the same block. Its a short walk (bout 1/2 mile to Market Street. And if ya get a MUNI pass its great....that includes the trolley's, electric buses, and the tube. For a 7 day pass it's only $24 per person. Not bad. Only 2-3 blocks from Union Square...and lots of things around to see and places to shop...if ya like to shop ya hit Jackpot around there. Take the shuttle door to door (airport to hotel and back) for about $30 a person...it's worth it...Bart is bout $15 round trip, but with bags thats going to be a taxi cab ride or moderate hike up the hill to the hotel...the shuttle saves ya from that and worth the extra $15 ya would prob spend in taxi to get up and down the hill with bags. What else can I say...great location, great rooms, great price...its as cheap and easy as its going to get if you are on a budget and want a great location. Yes the rooms are small, but they are very clean and more bang for your buck...and there is no central air, but who needs it with the great big bay windows in the front...when ya book as for a front street side room...it can get a bit noisy, but i sleep with my MP3 player in and didnt hear a thing. The neighborhood to the west over a block is kind of shady area to walk in...my suggestion walk in the busier, more touristy blocks to the east towards Union Square. No big deal there...and if ya do find your self surrounded by homeless east of neighborhood, just put your head straight forward and keep walking....never felt threatened and was not stopped or talked to once...so no worries there. Either way, with a few small inside tips like I have mentioned above...ya cant go wrong. OH and the breakfast is only coffee, juice, with bagles...but didnt really have time to eat breakfast with the schedule i kept...except first day, great for those on the run though. The beds were awful. We paid $377 for two nights but could not sleep the first night (4.5-5 hours) because the room was stuffy and hot plus the beds were awful. We checked out early (less than 24 hours after arriving) and they offered to upgrade our room, however they couldn't tell me if the beds were the same. The bed literally slid off the box spring, the ruffle sheet under the bed was ripped, the sheets had some sort of glue on them, the top comforter was pilly and very old. Because of these problems they offered me a $60 refund. I was not impressed. We will never stay here again, and will highly recommended that our friends/family DO NOT stay here either. The worst hotel in San Francisco that I have stayed at. It was depressing, towel-less, keyless, and the wifi password was with 6 point font. So please bring strong glasses and your towels when you stay here. They said free breakfast. They meant stale coffee, packaged oatmeal, and a Costco jar of peanut butter and jelly with week old bread. Let's not even mention the fruits that have been sitting there for at least 2 weeks that would likely be rejected by the homeless. read more

Staff: Very friendly and helpful. They were accomodating and let us check in well before check in time since the room was available. Honestly, we didn't have much contact after that but there's always someone available to ask questions. Rooms: Very clean but not huge. The decor in each seems to be different and at least matching. However, there were 2 things that were problematic: 1) the curtains did not block outside light well. 2) Our room was in the back of the building, overlooking a parking lot which has large groups of LOUD people throughout the night picking up their cars from the valets. There is no soundproofing in the least, so you get to hear the details of their incredibly dull (and often slurred) conversations. If you are a light sleeper, this may bother you so bring earplugs. Amenities: Breakfast is available every morning. It is a variety of bagels, breads and English muffins with different jams and cream cheese. Most days, there is also fruit salad. There is also coffee, tea, and watered-down orange juice. There is fast wifi throughout the hotel and my connection was never interrupted. If you don't have a computer, there are two in the room used for breakfast that are available. Neighborhood: The hotel is very well located to touristy things as well as public transportation all over the Bay Area. However, things can get dicey in one direction at night a few blocks from the hotel so check with hotel staff or a local if wandering around new areas at night. read more
