I was driving from Nashville to Cincinnati and picked Frankfort as a place to get out of the car and walk for an hour. Not one to resist a craft store, I decided I could pop in for a minute or two. I perused the store for over an hour and left with $400 worth of merchandise. Completely Kentucky is, in my opinion, the best crafts store in the US. This is not a store where you go to "get a deal." The merchandise is priced so the artists can be decently compensated and the store can keep its lights on. That means not cheap. But coming from the left coast, I thought the prices were very reasonable. When it comes to wood and clay crafts, Kentucky knocks it out of the park. But this store features artists working in every manner of medium. Their commitment to providing a spot to as many Kentucky artists and crafts people as possible is impressive. I love this store. The day after I discovered them I started saving for my next visit. My goal is the have minimum $1000 to spend and to also bring along an empty suitcase so I can get all my loot back home. :)

Now we're in the market for another sofa and a separate recliner. We went to Gilbert & Sons to try out all the different styles. This time I've done my homework and know that the recliner has to be motorized because I don't have the leg strength required to close most manual recliners. We really didn't like the selection this time around and found the sales woman to be a bit pushy. She's quite willing to order a sofa without us even seeing or sitting on it. Then we started talking prices and I could see all the hidden expenses adding up. Delivery charge + removal of old sofa + full cost of furniture = no deal I think it's off to Louisville in search of the perfect furniture.

On top of that, they kept threatening to take them to court and stick a bunch of fees on them. Finally, they just sent the stuff back because the harassment was ridiculous and they didn't care whether or not they had been faithful customers or not. They always caught up when they were behind. They also claimed that they didn't pay as much as they did, which was ridiculous. They had the stuff for over a year and were making $200+ payments a month and were told that they hadn't made that many payments. Ridiculous. Horrible business to rent from. Find your stuff on market place on Facebook and save yourself time, money, and the hassle that comes with this company and particularly this store.
