Some of the reviews I've read about this place gave me a little pause on coming in but I needed to get some touristy stuff as souvenirs and the other places I walked into were too serious and way too expensive. While walking by this place, I could see they probably had what I was looking for. We walked in and there is a lot to choose from in this store. There are whole walls dedicated to items like t-shirts and sunglasses. We needed to find magnets (my MIL is a huge collector, we're talking in the thousands). There was a large wall in the back full of many pretty and cool magnets. We found two perfect ones! Paying was easy for us. We got into the clearly marked line and came up to the register. The people working the day we came in were nice and we didn't have any issues. I'd recommend this shop if you're looking for that stereotypical touristy souvenir stuff. read more

The store is big but the staff (Jennifer) is not friendly at all. Asked about finding something and she basically just looked at me with a blank face. Never smiled and never said thank you. She did not look like she even wanted to be there. Sad. I did pick up a small key chain. Price was good. read more

First let me say my husband and I have travelled through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas,Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa,Nebraska South Dakota, and Wyoming over the last 13 days. We have worked retail and customer service jobs our entire lives, and I must say in all our travels we have never been treated so poorly or nastily than by the young lady in this store on Saturday June 20th at 8:30 pm. We simply wanted to purchase something and did not notice the sign for check out here. We asked this female who was folding shirts where do we check out, she gave us a very blank stare and nastily replied where the big yellow sign is. We have stayed many places and shopped in many stores along this trip and have been treated with kindness and exemplary courtesy. If she is that unhappy in her job I suggest she get out of customer service and find something where she does not deal with people or animals. This girl is a disgrace. We proceeded to the register with what we wanted to buy, and handed the bottle of lotion to the young man working the register and explained to him we no longer wanted to purchase this from this store because of her treatment. We also noted that he was on his cell phone when we approached. We have noted where all this chains locations are and decided we will never spend a five or a dime in any of them. Train your employees to treat the customers with respect t and be grateful they have a job. Worst experience ever in resort area that depends on tourist money to survive. They have a lot of merchandise. Shirts, sweatshirts, jackets/hoodies, keychains, mugs, magnets, games, snacks/food, other items with person's names for gifts, etc. The lady at the counter/cashier was nice. I did not experience bad customer service here unlike what other reviewers did. If you're looking for affordable souvenirs at Jackson Hole, I'd definitely check out this store. There are better places to shop for souvenirs and are cheaper. They also charge 20 cents for a brown paper lunch bag for your merchandise. Being as it was snowing outside, my paper bag did not last in the snow. The employee lied and said that Jackson Hole does not do plastic bags. I went to another shop and my purchase came with a free PLASTIC bag. There are much better shops and friendlier employees than this one. read more

Service was horrible, annoyed when my grandmother payed in cash and when I went over to ask for a paper was told that she was serving another customer to wait so I did there was a line but I just need a paper bag waited till those customers were done and went up to the counter gave her 25 cents and told her to keep the changes since all I need was a paper bag and to leave but she told me no that wasn't my spot and told me to wait in the back of line for just a paper bag now I would have but she spoke to me with such rudeness and disrespect I had to her have a wonderful day and left never got my bag horrible store horrible lady at the front desk do not visit if a tourist. You can buy souvenirs, snacks and drinks at this store. We picked up a few different things. Not surprised at the low stars or reviews . The store is big but the quality of goods is very low. Lots of options for clothing and souvenirs however nothing stood out that I would have liked to buy it .Our friends ended up buying a few Knick-knacks but they weren't happy with the quality either .The store can be a good option if you are running low on time and need to grab something quick. read more

The store is conveniently located across from Jackson Hole's downtown square and carries a fun selection of Jackson Hole branded merchandise. However the attitude of the staff was particularly rude... or maybe they hire seasonal workers who need more training. The lady at the counter wouldn't remove an item off my receipt as I was paying when my daughter changed her mind. Not a huge deal, but she grabbed my credit card to try push me along so I had to insist on a refund. Could have been a communication barrier, but I doubt it. I don't really recommend this store and it ruined a perfectly good morning in this otherwise cool town. read more

Lots of gimmicky cheapish things which I was actually kinda looking for. Touristy stuff. I had my arms full of things to buy but then I stumbled upon toilet paper rolls w pictures of Biden and Pelosi on them. So I looked through for a roll with Trump or McConnell. But nope. Nowhere to be found. There was plenty of Blue Lives Matter stuff too. Really?! So this place has an owner who chooses to stock much of his/her inventory based on their own partisan politics. You can tell the staff does not like all the tourists coming in and expect to be served some attitude and eye rolling when you mention any type of discount. Especially if you come remotely close to closing time. What do you expect would happen if you're located in a busy intersection? For folks to come in and offer this establishment some business. I had purchased the wrong name on a pocket knife and asked if I could exchange it a minute after I purchased it. The staff said sorry, my manager said no and we are closed. Closed the door on me. There are plenty of souvenir shops around the block and within a minute walk if you prefer a more pleasant shopping experience. read more

The shop is really great! Although a little pricey, they have some very amazing products. I also purchased a large number of stickers, magnets, clothes, and mugs. Although I noticed most employees being incredibly kind to clients, I have seen reviews from some complaining that the staff is unfriendly. Perhaps it was a staff change, but I would want to express my gratitude to the boy wearing a braves hat. I was going to purchase a few items, but I needed to use the restroom. I asked the cashier if there was one available and all she said was no. I asked her where the closest one was and she rolled her eyes and said two blocks in any direction. I did not buy anything and the 5 other people I was with also put their items down and walked out. Only reason for two stars is that they have lots of small cool items that say Jackson, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons etc. However, the young lady with the glasses working today on August 14th was happy to not be helpful if you know what I mean. I spent $144 and all I wanted was a box so that I could ship the items. I understand that she doesn't have any boxes, but when I asked where the boxes go after they unpack, the intensity level went up as her volume and tone intensified. When it got to the point where I asked If there could be any boxes out back in the trash, now it was getting super intense. I asked her to keep it calm, and she said "well you're not listening." This great store has all the souvenirs the kids AND adults are looking for! There's a great selection of t-shirts, hats, jewelry and even hard to find vintage toys and candy! The clerks were great! We'll definitely be back. read more

The Five and Dime General Store is not the only store in Jackson that CHARGES FOR PAPER BAGS. Everywhere you go in Jackson will charge for them. The town of Jackson passed an ordinance a few years ago to get rid of plastic and use paper or reusable bags. The town of Jackson charges the stores for bags. So in order for the stores you love to stay in business and make profit they have to, in return, charge for paper bags. If you can afford the crazy prices in Jackson, what's another .20 cents for a bag?? If you don't wish to pay the .20 cents, carry it by hand or buy a reusable. read more
