Worst experience I've had at a job lot. A middle-aged bigger lady who was working around 550 came…read moreover to the register and was so rude because I was trying to purchase something that was on sale with my crazy deal card I got. They said I couldn't use it towards the sale price of the items that were on sale. she was very rude walking around talking about how everybody has a problem today and she was done with everything. She then left and walked away. Very rude to make cashier and me. Honestly, she shouldn't be working here if that's how she's gonna treat people . I will never go back. The man that eventually helped me seemed a little aggravated at first, but calm down a little bit towards the end I should not have been treated this way.

I used to visit Ocean State Job Lot all the time when they were on Hazard Ave, near Barnes & Noble…read moreBookstore. They had regular hours back then and always closed at 9pm (exept on Sundays when they closed at 6pm), and I made it there 10-15 minutes before closing on many occasions for something quick I needed to run in and get. After they moved to the old "Best Buy" store location at the Elm Plaza on Elm Street, they also changed their hours. The hours are now all over the place. Some days they open at 8am, other days they open at 9am. Some days they close at 7pm, other days they close at 8pm, and according to some websites I've checked their hours on, other days they close at 9pm. This makes it very difficult to know when to go to the store, as if you go at 8am on a day when they open at 9am, you've got an hour to waste; while other days if you get there expecting them to close at 8pm or 9pm, and it's one of the days they close at 7pm, well, you're just plain out of luck driving up to an empty store with all the lights turned off. I drove over one evening that I just happened to be in Enfield and arrived there at 6:50pm and was curtly told by an employee as I entered the store "we're closing in 10 minutes". I mentioned that they must have changed their hours since they moved because they were always open till 9pm when they were in the Hazard Ave location. The employee told me "No, we've always closed at 7", when I mentioned I've been going to that store for at least a dozen years, probably closer to 20, and they always closed at 9pm, except for Sundays, I was again adamantly told "we've ALWAYS closed at 7". When I got home I looked up their hours and it turns out that they don't even close at 7 every night even now. From the Ocean State Job Lot website (May 27, 2023) - Monday 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM Tuesday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Wednesday 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Thursday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Friday 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Saturday 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Sunday 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM You go ahead and try to make sense of it, as I certainly can't... and obviously their own employees don't know what their current hours are either, insisting they now close at 7pm every evening when they not only don't close at 7pm every night, but they don't open at 8 am every morning either... ...and the best Ocean State Job Lot can do is ask me to contact them at their email address so they can "hear more" about my "experience", as if what I've explained here isn't already clear enough for them. Duh... as if repeating this information over and over again is going to make them understand it any better or make them change anything at all... typical beaurocratic mumbo-jumbo... and no, they don't get "credit" for at least providing a ridiculous response... Fix your hours and don't waste my time telling me you that you sympathize with me. You've got all the information you need right here, explained just as clearly as can be... either fix this ridiculous state of affairs or don't... THAT is the only response that matters... and anyone with half a brain should realize this.

I want to love this Goodwill store. People are nice, and…read moresometimes you can find good deals but there are times where I'm wondering if people pricing the stuff are high. You have an item that still has the store's sticker on it priced at .99 cents but Goodwill is selling it for 4.99 is that a joke? Because it succeeded in making me laugh and put it right back on the shelf for the next patron to laugh at. Then, you have items that are clearly from dollar tree priced at 1.99, 2.99 doesn't make a bit of sense to me. Also, there was this one time my mom and I were looking at this small antique folding table and we asked one of the workers to help us unfold it to see how it looked like completely extended and I kid you not, the table fell to pieces on the floor, and we were all staring at each other like, what just happened? The worker had a good sense of humor about it, "Guess it's not for sale after all". But my point is, someone had to have known it was broken in the back, why put it out for sale anyway? Check your items well before you purchase them, especially things like furniture, electronics, and housewares. I don't understand why Goodwill sells some things reasonably and others so expensive especially since many people are donating this stuff so that those who are going through difficult situations can afford it, not for Goodwill to be profiteering off of those who are already in unfortunate circumstances.

It's located in a modern strip mall with plenty of parking, and workers are taking the time to create displays. There was even a Halloween/Trick or Treat display to remind us that it is coming up.
