It's always odd to see a mall store pop up in an outlet mall and not offer outlet prices. I know…read morethere are outdoor shopping centers, but Grove City is not and has not been one of those. It has always been an outlet mall and to have stores like this start to encroach into the outlet mall is not cool, in my book at least. I know all shopping centers are looking for ways to stay relevant and keep their doors open, but if I wanted to pay full price, I would have found a mall with this store in it. Not make a destination shopping trip to be robbed of a spot for discounted items. Being and outdoor outlet mall it is always weird to see a mall based store try to fit in. But once you walk in the door, it's as if you just came off the mall concourse. There is nothing special here and that hits home when there isn't much selection, no difference in appearance, and pricing is as if you can't get these shoes anywhere else. I didn't enjoy it in here the least. The employees themselves even looked like they didn't want to be in here. We weren't greeted or helped. So it was a quick stop and back outside we went.

Anywho.. everything is a dollar as we all know. This store was pretty clean and the customer service was good and everyone looked presentable. They were closing at the time and still let me in to grab some small travel size things for my next flight out of town. The isles looked exactly the same as any other one. I found what I needed with ease and was out of there within 5 minutes. The parking lot was quite dirty with papers and trash everywhere but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt tonight because it was super windy. Other than that same ol, same ol. No different from any other dollar tree. Woopdy doo!

I've bought everything from MCM wicker to homemade plaster face masks-- who I have named are Harold and Sam-- to odds and ends dinnerware and appliances. (Did you know you can still find glass Tang pitchers??) I'm also a huge fan of their photo frames and art collection... Everything is priced to move, and I have bought beautiful antique frames for my own artwork for a fraction of the typical cost. These prices can't be beat! I'm addicted to this experience, and we go out of our way to visit Granny each time we come to Warren. She is the best! I have found a friend in her and it makes it even more fun to visit the store. You really won't often get this kind of special interpersonal interaction at a store anymore. This place is a cannot-miss if you're into affordable antiques and cleaned up secondhand pieces. Everything there begs to come home with me. It's both amazing and horrible, lol. Also, fwiw, this place is quietly/modestly a gay- and trans- friendly environment. As a trans person, I have never once felt unwelcome, nervous, or shit on in here. The staff is lovely, and Granny is literally everyone's grandma. Gotta love a welcoming, normal, safe space! ‍‍ Thanks to Yankee Trading Post in Warren, I have been able to painlessly decorate my new place to match how I always pictured it in my mind.

Went to a friend's showing of local American artists, chosen by jury selection, and I was…read moreimpressed. This art museum is beautiful on Youngstown State's campus. Galleries show only artwork by Americans, the only museum of its kind in the U.S. One gallery is artwork showing Native Americans. Others showed large wall paintings and smaller paintings and some sculptures. The newest display of local artists runs through February 25, 2026. Lovely gift shop. Free. Check it out.
