We got the steak salad with no blue cheese and dressing on the side as well as a chicken chipotle wrap. The staff taking our order was super helpful and friendly about us asking for sauce on the side. A lot of times when you order stuff on the side weight, staff can get a little snippy with the orders, but they seemed really easy with making the change. Inside was a little bit stuffy however, the patio space in the sun was perfect for a quick lunch. Now for the taste, I wasn't expecting much but boy was I in the wrong. The chipotle wrap featured a warmed tortilla with the cheese melted inside. The lettuce was fresh and all the filling was perfect. The chipotle on the side was a great topper to dip into as well. The steak salad was our absolute favorite, and we ate every bit of it! The meat was sliced, very thin and fried almost similar to bacon. My sister remarked that she enjoyed how the salad was chopped and all the pieces were similar size so when you mix it up, you could get a bite of everything versus just one bite of meat or veg. I would totally come back here just for that salad and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a protein packed lighter lunch. The fries were fries and delicious, but I must admit I filled up on the rest and wasn't able to finish it. Well, done, old village crew!

One last thing would be to offer straws that are wrapped so they aren't touching the container that everyone touches. I called Alpha fire to find out whether it was necessary to have the fire sprinkler system in my…read morehome checked. I feel the information I got on the phone was misleading. The women told me that many people get their system inspected once a year implying that it was very important to have an inspection. It turns out virtually no residential user does that, businesses do because their systems are required to be inspected once a year. She also told me that the cost would be $250 and it might only take 45 minutes and wanted to be sure I was OK with that. I said yes. It didn't take 45 minutes it took under 10 minutes. All the technician did was turn a water valve on for less than a minute to see if the bell would ring. It did and he was done. He would've been done in five minutes except he couldn't get the valve to turn easily. The technician said he never been asked to do a residential inspection before. I paid the $250 but feel misled and ripped off.

He had tried it before, so this was my first time here. As I looked over the menu everything sounded good and pics of the food helped me make my final choice for lunch. The service was excellent, the cashier was friendly and patient with us ordering (since it was my first time here). We decided to sit in the patio area since it was nice day, even though there was a little bit of construction noise next door, it didn't take away from hearing the great music selection. Moments later a server brought out the food, everything smelled and looked delicious. He ordered fish N' chips w/upgraded garlic fries, (we love garlic fries!) some of the best garlic fries we've had, every bite was garlicky & dipped in ranch...mmmmm perfect combo. The fish was tender but crispy bites from the batter. I ordered the Pismo wrap (could be shared), I was not expecting it to be so packed with all the fillings. It was stuffed with sliced tri-tip, curly fries, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and bbq sauce. Every bite was so satisfying, flavorful and had a little bit of everything. Some saltiness from the fries to sweetness from the bbq sauce, well balanced (I did add some cholula sauce because I enjoy some spiciness). Definitely added as a stop when doing a day trip to Pismo. I'll be recommending friends/family to make a stop at Hoagies if they're ever in the area and they're looking for a chomp because a bite isn't enough. So after all the shopping/walking, pick up some Hoagies and head to the beach (which is walking distance), because great food deserves a great view!

The counterperson taking my order kept saying lettuce, and I repeated a few times, you mean cabbage, since that's what is written on the menu, and they seemed a bit confused.. But it did come with lettuce, not cabbage (?). Hmm. The fish was okay, but not fried to enough of a crisp, so it was not crunchy. It was also a relatively small amount of cod in the the burrito wrap. I say burrito wrap as the tortilla was pretty thick and barely toasted. I did see other patrons sitting at the tables with much toastier-looking wraps, and it looked like the steak wrap came in a wheat tortilla. So is there more than one kind of tortilla? The tartar sauce was middle of the road and there was not enough of it in the wrap for my tastes - I like sauce. But I could not get more for the side, as the line was out the door by the time I discovered I could use more tartar sauce! So while it was fine, and the fish seemed fresh, I was somewhat disappointed, and did not munch this wrap with the zeal that I do the one from the other locale in town where I typically buy the killer cod wrap. The curly fries were good and well salted. Lots of people sitting outside; tables could've been cleaned better. Maybe staff should come out and wipe them down periodically.
