The barbecue burger here was excellent. The milkshakes are also worth having. It would be nice if they went back to also giving you the metal container with the extra shake like they use to before COVID. The fries are large enough to split so you have room for the milkshakes . It would also be nice to see the ice cream sundae come back for those who don't want the milkshake. We had a person at the register that made us one anyway and charged for something else that was equal in price. (Thank you, you made my wives day for doing that) The only thing I would suggest is try doing something about the flies . When you sit at the front windows to enjoy the view they drive you crazy. One last thing would be to offer straws that are wrapped so they aren't touching the container that everyone touches. Looking for a lunch look no further! This casual joint was packed with people coming to get their lunch for two days so we figured it would be a great spot to stop! We got the steak salad with no blue cheese and dressing on the side as well as a chicken chipotle wrap. The staff taking our order was super helpful and friendly about us asking for sauce on the side. A lot of times when you order stuff on the side weight, staff can get a little snippy with the orders, but they seemed really easy with making the change. Inside was a little bit stuffy however, the patio space in the sun was perfect for a quick lunch. Now for the taste, I wasn't expecting much but boy was I in the wrong. The chipotle wrap featured a warmed tortilla with the cheese melted inside. The lettuce was fresh and all the filling was perfect. The chipotle on the side was a great topper to dip into as well. The steak salad was our absolute favorite, and we ate every bit of it! The meat was sliced, very thin and fried almost similar to bacon. My sister remarked that she enjoyed how the salad was chopped and all the pieces were similar size so when you mix it up, you could get a bite of everything versus just one bite of meat or veg. I would totally come back here just for that salad and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a protein packed lighter lunch. Out on an adventure today. I stopped to get a bite to eat. I ordered a chopped steak salad with a half order of sweet potato fries. The steak was (I'm guessing) likely the meat they use in a streak sandwich (even though it's not on the menu). It was tough. But the salad was good. Sweet potato fries was good. The staff were very friendly and they have a really nice selection of mini items. Keep in mind when you're ordering you are ordering things à la carte with hamburger supper from the fries, etc. The food all came out hot and delicious. Service was friendly and fast. The largest table they have seats only four but we just grabbed a chair from another table to make it five. Generous portions of meat on the sandwiches. We got the onion ring and fry basket and I felt like skimped on the fries, but all the way around we would definitely eat here again. Also, the women's restroom door is really hard to get open. Stopped in for a BLTA. The place is old school cafe style. Definitely had a local feel. The BLTA was served on a sandwich roll with shred iceberg lettuce. It was a decent sandwich with ample Bacon and Avocado. I would order it again. The guy behind the counter was not very personable was quiet when he called out people order number and under the weather. Kind of odd that he was serving the food if he didn't feel good. A cute, old grill in downtown Arroyo Grande! They had a variety of meals to choose from - it took awhile to finally pick a sandwich! But eventually decided on the Mushroom Jack Chicken. Good servings of everything - except the cheese was a little lighter. (Ok with me, I'm not big on cheese) I ordered the dressing on the side & it was SPICY. I'm a lightweight so if you like spicy it's probably fine. The space was neat & clean & the service was excellent. The bathroom was clean but I couldn't get the toilet to flush. What a great place we ran into while camping at Lake Lopez. My family and I decided to head into the city and do a little window shopping when we came upon Old Village Grill. Tight from the start, it had a retro feel to it as the decor had an old school Boys Big Boy type, along with celebrities photos up on the wall w/inscriptions of how the burgers were the Best In Town. No doubt, I had to try a charbroiled Bacon BBQ Hickory Burger with fresh cut potato fries ( do t shoot the messenger as I don't like cheese on my burgers). Also, you have an options of drinks, such as sodas, juices or a cold refrigerated beer, so I decided to go with a corona. The staff was friendly to my family and I as we entered the establishment and was very helpful as we were first timers. When we placed our orders, it wasn't long before we received everything. Very quick! Fresh from the start and temperature hot as you received it. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the view and weather as the day was a perfect 75 degrees. As you reviewed the photos, alot of great items on the menu, it's really what your preference is, but the burger was spot on, steak salad was massive and possible feed two, fries were the bomb and onion rings as crispy and delicious as you would like. We also loved the fries. We need to go back to try a different burger. My daughter ordered the chili dog and she only ate 1/4 of it. The chili maybe came out of a can?
