It's a casual counter-service setup, you order first, grab a table, and they bring the food out when they call your name. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Since the weather was gorgeous and we had our dog with us, we chose to sit outside. Street parking can be a bit tight due to beachgoers and nearby shops. Their menu covers breakfast, burgers, tacos, fish & chips, salads, soups, and hot or cold sandwiches, plus beer and cocktails. We ordered the 'Cuban Sandwich' (hot pulled pork, ham, provolone, mustard, mayo, and pickles on a perfectly toasted, soft French roll) and the 'Turkey Sandwich' (cold). Both came with curly fries and were fresh and yummy. Personally, I prefer chips over fries with a cold sandwich, but the food was still excellent. Customer service was top-notch. The bf and I made a day trip to Pismo for my bday, we planned to try a new place to eat. There's a lot of options by Pismo pier to choose from, but Hoagies stood out to me. He had tried it before, so this was my first time here. As I looked over the menu everything sounded good and pics of the food helped me make my final choice for lunch. The service was excellent, the cashier was friendly and patient with us ordering (since it was my first time here). We decided to sit in the patio area since it was nice day, even though there was a little bit of construction noise next door, it didn't take away from hearing the great music selection. Moments later a server brought out the food, everything smelled and looked delicious. He ordered fish N' chips w/upgraded garlic fries, (we love garlic fries!) some of the best garlic fries we've had, every bite was garlicky & dipped in ranch...mmmmm perfect combo. The fish was tender but crispy bites from the batter. I ordered the Pismo wrap (could be shared), I was not expecting it to be so packed with all the fillings. It was stuffed with sliced tri-tip, curly fries, avocado, pepper jack cheese, and bbq sauce. Every bite was so satisfying, flavorful and had a little bit of everything. Some saltiness from the fries to sweetness from the bbq sauce, well balanced (I did add some cholula sauce because I enjoy some spiciness). Definitely added as a stop when doing a day trip to Pismo. I'll be recommending friends/family to make a stop at Hoagies if they're ever in the area and they're looking for a chomp because a bite isn't enough. I decided to give Hoagie's a try -- I usually go elsewhere for my cod wrap when in the area. I requested the cabbage and tomato instead of curly French fries inside the wrap -- and fries came on the side, anyway. The counterperson taking my order kept saying lettuce, and I repeated a few times, you mean cabbage, since that's what is written on the menu, and they seemed a bit confused.. But it did come with lettuce, not cabbage (?). Hmm. The fish was okay, but not fried to enough of a crisp, so it was not crunchy. It was also a relatively small amount of cod in the the burrito wrap. I say burrito wrap as the tortilla was pretty thick and barely toasted. I did see other patrons sitting at the tables with much toastier-looking wraps, and it looked like the steak wrap came in a wheat tortilla. So is there more than one kind of tortilla? The tartar sauce was middle of the road and there was not enough of it in the wrap for my tastes - I like sauce. But I could not get more for the side, as the line was out the door by the time I discovered I could use more tartar sauce! So while it was fine, and the fish seemed fresh, I was somewhat disappointed, and did not munch this wrap with the zeal that I do the one from the other locale in town where I typically buy the killer cod wrap. I heard that Hoagie's is a must-try when in Pismo and I understand why. While their front counter seems placed weirdly by the door, the food definitely is something worth coming back for. Menu was extensive but husband and I opted for the Cubano (I think) and some onion rings and shrimp as sides. Shared the whole thing and glad we did! I haven't been to Hoagies in forever!! When I was visiting over the weekend I made sure to stop by here to get their famous Pismo wrap like I used to back in the day. They have out door and inside seating. The register is right in front of the entrance so if it's busy then there will be a line outside. Inside it can get a little crammed. Drink station is in the food area so you can serve yourself refills. We got the Cali cheese steak, it was pretty good. We also got the fish tacos which i thought were BOMB! I did have to put a good amount of lemon and salt but I scarfed thoes tacos down. We also threw lemon juice and salt on the chips which made them taste better. In Pismo Beach, there is a shop that sells hoagies and sandwiches and if you are on this area, you have to check this establishment out. We saw this place on instagram and had to come here since we were in the area. We ordered the sandwich called "The Stanley". It has tri-tip, pastrami, mayo, mustard, red onions, jalapeño, pepper jack cheese on garlic sourdough bread. It is so good and comes with curly fries and a drink. My wife also orders a Bloody Mary that was really good. The sandwich was so good, that on our way home we stopped specifically here to get 2 more. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I saw the great reviews on yelp and it came heavily recommended, so when I stopped in I asked for the most popular thing on the menu, The Pismo. The Pismo is a tri-tip bbq wrap, with curly fries, avocado, and cheese. It sounded odd but I went with it. First bite reminded me of a California burrito with a twist. I swapped half of the wrap for half of my buddy's hot pastrami sandwich. I was left trying to figure out which I liked better as both were delicious but with way different flavors. The mustard and pickles on the hot pastrami gave it the zing it needed but I removed the Peperoncinos which still left a little mild heat behind so I'm not mad they were on there. It lacked that briny, savory taste of clams, and the potatoes were cut to thick for my liking. At best, it could be any a chowder you can order and any diner. Came here around 7pm on a Friday and loved the chill ambience in here! It's right by the beach so it was super refreshing to eat here after spending a few hours in the sun. Got a blood orange cali squeeze beer and it was so good! As someone who likes sour beer because I don't drink too much bitter beer it was perfect for me.
