Great ordering experience tonight. Fast and efficient. The order was accurate as well. The reason for only 4 stars is because the fries cup wasn't even full, and there were absolutely no extra fries in the bag, as per the usual. To make matters worse, they weren't fully cooked through and a bit raw (warm temp and gooey) in the center. Some were completely translucent in color still. They just weren't up to the usual delicious hot fries we are used to from here. It was a bit busier tonight and one of the soda machines had a sign over it saying the ice was out and to use the other machine. Stopped in on our way home on a Sunday afternoon. Regular burger for Rick and the patty melt for me. I really appreciate that Five Guys lets you customize your burger toppings. And I don't mean just "Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us" - I mean grilled onions, jalapeños, mushrooms, green peppers, A-1 Sauce. A nice set of options. And the fries? They are locally sourced - I think ours were from a farm near Centralia. Truly are hand cut, fried to perfection, and an extra scoop in the bag. And I always love a place with a Coke-centric "do it yourself" beverage center. Friendly service - although that's a standard in Iowa. Too much ice in the parking lot. But that's not their fault - and also - standard for Iowa in the winter. read more

Food was taken to go. Customer service was friendly and were informative. Ordered a little bacon cheeseburger with little fries. The burger itself was a bit dry and flavorless the lettuce was a bit off but bacon was good and so was the cheese. Fries were okay a bit more on the soggy side even tho I saw them make them fresh. Also got a hamburger with pickles lettuce tomato and same with this burger it was lacking flavor such as even a bit of salt and pepper. Fries also not the best. The restaurant had a great old timey burger joint feel. It was mostly clean, however the floors could have used a sweep. The service was excellent. The lady taking me and my dad's order very nice, patient, and helpful. The food came fairly quickly considering it was made fresh when we ordered it. The flavor was very good. I can tell that the burger and fries were made fresh and from honest ingredients however the fries were not as crispy as I would have liked. Overall, I was pleased with the experience and I would recommend it if you're looking for a high quality burger, just be prepared for $30-40 bill for two people. read more

There are so many things I can say about this place. The best part is that all of them are good. To start, the food is great and the burgers are just awesome. Next the service is great because all of the workers are kind and friendly. The hygiene, ambiance and atmosphere of it is also good because it is clean and a great space for customers. Stopped by for carry out in the post-lunch rush timeframe. Deduction of stars for soggy, uncooked, tasteless fries. "Fries" means crisp potatoes in opinion. Trying to dunk those limp noodles driving was a mess and after some I gave up before the end of my pricey cup. At tables waiting for the food to be cooked and tables were dirty. Staff were working so it's an attention to detail/quality issue, or a need to add another staff even if it's 2:00pm on a weekday afternoon. Not sure where the reputation for greatness comes from. At $11 for one person ordering the smallest of everything, this is unlikely to be a place I'll return to again. read more

So this was our first visit at a five guys. We are from Southern California and stick to in n out burger only. When we walked in tonight the staff was amazing! All four of them that were on duty were very friendly and even helped us with ordering since it was our first time. Having staff like these people just makes for an enjoyable atmosphere. Not only was the staff awesome, the food was amazing. You can honestly tell that they take pride in what they do. I am definitely a five guys fan now!! I wish every place had employees like this. People who actually like what they do and enjoy coming to work. A smile on someone's face goes along way. I LIVE FOR the Cajun fries. I choose to keep my burgers light. Here are plenty of great condiments to add but thy make my burgers so tall i can't get them in my mouth. Lots of salt on the fries. Just saying. But i do love then. Sprinkle a little vinegar on for flavor. Order at the counter. If you get fries, burger and a drink you'll pat at least $12 but it is so worth it. Grab some peanuts while they cook your fries. If you dont like waiting then order online. read more

The food's okay but the day I went there were flies everywhere. I pointed this out to the staff and they told me they're aware but there was nothing they could do. I moved seats twice and the flies just kept following me. Finally, I ate outside were it was very windy and uncomfortable. We recently made our first visit to this establishment, after having read many reviews since their opening. First impressions were that facilities very bright, and very clean. We were greeted promptly and enthusiastically. Our order consisted of two bacon cheeseburgers, one with all toppings, other with several; small size spicy fries, soft drink and chocolate shake.Burgers were excellent and satisfying, all fresh ingredients, made to order. Sadly, it receives a slight hit on quality of bun, as it is too soft to handle size of burgers and associated toppings. Fries were crisp, appropriately seasoned but not overwhelming. Shake was rich and smooth, yet drinkable with straw. Total bill for 2 ppl was $30+ change, which we felt was good value for quality and quantity of ingredients. They do have smaller, less costly offerings as well. Overall, a very positive experience, and we will return. read more

So this was my first time eating Five Guys and I'm out with my girlfriend and we're sitting here eating she daily's this is the worst one she's been to and she's right. Both our burgers were cold in the center and the fries tasted stale and soggy. The cleanliness of the restaurant isn't to good either. When I walked in there was six other tables. This was our first and last visit to Five Guys. Two bacon cheeseburgers, yes they are doubles, a small fry to share, but is a huge portion and two sodas for 28 dollars. The burgers were good but nothing to get excited over and the fries were a soggy mess and so salty that they were pretty much inedible. As an extra added bonus you have to walk up and get your food as they scream your number out and it's not even on a tray or basket, just all shoved in a bag. For the cost they could at least do more things for the customer. We could have went to a regular restaurant with better food and table side service for about the same price including some adult beverages. read more

The food may be good but the staff BLOWS. They forgot to make the milkshake of the people in front of us until the customer came back in and asked for it. Then on our order, they messed up all 6 of our burgers and forgot to make/give us the 7th one. There was a guy there working by himself so we thought until two more employees came in from being at Chipotle. Like why are you at Chipotle during your shift? Overall probably the best burgers we've ever eaten. Patties were seasoned and cook perfectly. And you can tell they use fresh toppings. Best shakes ever! Perfect consistency toppings were subtle and very refreshing even in extreme cold weather it was the perfect after meal palette cleanser. This would be a 5 star if it weren't for the fries. The price is high for a meal but that's because it's a high quality meal. I don't go to Five guys looking for a dollar menu. This was the third visit. For a prominent premium burger chain, I was disappointed. They held off opening, yet launched without ability for fries, which for a place that promotes burgers and fries is a little lame. Online ordering no longer works. Thank goodness for sauces, because their burgers are dry. If you are only working with half of your promoted trademark items, you had better make sure your other items are spot-on. When a burger is $8+, you'd better get a juicy burger. Hardee's makes a much better burger than what I have had in three visits. I will keep checking them out to try them once they actually have their trademark fries, but I won't be going there just for the burgers. One of our favorite places right now, great burgers made fresh. They always get your order perfect. And the peanut butter and chocolate milkshake is unbelievable!!!! I could stand for the music to be lower, as could my 9 year old nephew with autism. This is his favorite place to come but we often can't stay to eat due to the music volume. Bummer. read more

We ordered take out, four burgers, four fries and four sodas and it was about $60. The burgers were fine, nothing too exciting. The fries might have tasted better if we ate in, but they give you a huge amount, that we would have been better off just getting two. The shakes were fine. Not sure why the price is so high though. We went for our first time recently on a weekday evening. It was slightly past dinner rush time. The line was literally out the door. As we stood and waited, we had plenty of time to observe the four workers. There was only one guy cooking burgers, one guy on fries, one guy on register and one guy who seemed to be putting orders together. I saw a figure in black go by the backroom window but they never came out to help. Every single time the register guy called out the number of patties, the cook tossed his hands up and made exasperated style comments. At one point he yelled back that he was out of meat. The couple behind us left thinking they were out of hamburgers. We were talking about leaving but saw register guy was still taking orders. Then the cook disappeared into the back with lots of noise. He returned with a stack of patties so we stayed. It took way too long to actually get our food although the guy handing out food was very apologetic. Overall, it seemed to us like there was no supervision going on at all. Definitely needed an adult. Our final conclusion was that the burgers were overcooked and smashed. The fries were tasty when they were hot but pretty gross when they cooled. The milkshakes were yummy but very small for a five dollar shake. Everything was about $3 more than it was worth. Probably won't go back again. There's other places to get an $8 burger that are better and quicker. read more

This place has outrageous prices for low quality food! I would rather eat a burger from McDonald's or Culvers honestly. They took forever to make the burger when we were the only customers in there at the time. Extremely greasy burgers, but I'm not one to complain about burgers having grease. The "manager" wearing the black shirt was nice at first, but when more customers started to walk in, it's almost like she panicked and freaked out. Yelling at the other works to "BE IN THEIR POSITIONS" and she yelled at a bus boy because he didn't take a customer a high chair "when I tell you to take a high chair to a customer, that's what I want." You sound worse letting everyone hear you bitching, instead of correcting him nicely later. Everyone makes mistakes and we as customers don't need to hear it!! Learn a little respect. read more

First time @ a Five Guys. Burger was good and tasty the fries had good tasting seasoning but we're very soggy and limp (they should learn to blanche them first). Now the cost....and all I can say is wow, a cheeseburger and their "little" fries and no drink was over $11. So not worth it. Cut that back to around $8 total and it starts making sense. Probably will skip this place next time, there plenty of places that make just as good a burger and actually know how to cook fries. read more
