Food was really good! I have to give them that. The place is a MESS tho. Very dirty lobby area with food all over the floor. TOILET PAPER hanging off of tables. Trash cans full to the max. Messes on literally every table. Dried up spattered soda on the walls that you can tell has been there for days. Restroom was a mess as well. Employees had 0 care for the mess and were just hanging around behind the counter. Makes you wonder if this is what the public I can see how is it in the areas we cannot. read more

Horrible service. Got to place and cashier was just talking to the cooks. He turns to us and just ignores us and keeps having his conversion. Took a good 5 minutes for him to acknowledge us. First time here and I thought my burger and fries were amazing. They first thing I said when I got my burger was, "what a sad burger". But I'm so glad it tasted better than it looked. I loved how simple their menu was and that you could choose what toppings you wanted instead of telling them not to put something you don't like on your burger. I've never seen a restaurant brag so much about how amazingly delicious their food is. They had it all over their walls. That's a bit much. They should focus a little more on making sure their workers are keeping the place clean and free of flies. read more

The food is usually pretty good at this location. However, the dining room was in complete chaos on my last visit. All the tables were dirty, and their Freestyle machines were out of so many products. They also need to take a look at their air conditioning, it was extremely hot inside. read more

I have tried multiple Five Guys locations and each time I enjoy the burger and the service. Always top notch. However there were two things about this particular location which each lost them a star in my review. The first was the cleanliness of the location. When I walked into the restaurant the interior looked like it had not been swept in quite some time. Usually this is understandable if the location is crowded or the line is backed up, but at the time the place was not crowded at all. In addition the AC was leaking water directly onto a table in the middle of the restaurant and splashing the surrounding area which was pretty close to the pick up counter. Despite this it did not look like there were any plans to address either of these issues with the only solution being a wet floor sign near that particularly wet table. The second thing which I was more disappointed in were the fries. The fries at Five Guys are usually insanely good but this time I was underwhelmed both by the cut and the texture of the fries. They were also a little over seasoned for me so I am not sure if it was an off day or vendor but they were definitely different. All in all I will likely still come back to Five Guys and probably this location but these issues were pretty different from what I have come to expect of Five Guys. I hope they address both of these issues at this location in the future. read more

A chain that I finally tried. No long waits. You get unlimited peanuts to eat while waiting for your burger. From cheeseburgers to hamburgers just remember that a regular hamburger here is TWO patties. I got mine with onions and mushrooms and it was fantastic. Was it greasy? yes...but I mean it's fast food. The greasy juicy burger and the gooey cheese was perfect. I also got the fries with the cajun spice. A bit soggy from the grease but the cajun flavor was not over powering and I ended up eating almost all the fries. I would definitely come here again when craving a burger. read more

Would be really easy to get to if the construction on the highway coming from the east wasn't so bad the restaurant is located right off the highway in a plaza. If you have ever been to a five guys you immediately recognize the red and white interior as you walk in and as you go up to the counter you pass the bags of potatoes and peanut oil used to make their fries. Once at the counter the menu is hanging right above where you order a base burger or hot dog that is at a set price and you can add toppings for "free" once ordered they give you your receipt with the number that is called out once order is ready. No matter if you are dining in or taking out the orders are given to you in a brown paper bag. Once at the table I opened my bag and took out my Cajun fries that were in a white paper cup and my burger that was wrapped in tinfoil. The taste is very definitely better than your average fast food drive thru burger but the price is much more expensive to get your money's worth you need to add as many toppings as possible this would be a great place if you are big eater. After finishing we threw away our trash in the bins. read more

I always feel iffy about yelping about a chain, but since there's only about two of these in the RGV, I guess it's worth reviewing. I've tried this chain in several states, and it's pretty standard, like it's meant to be. These burgers are a little pricier than other fast food burger places, but totally worth it. I especially like the huge portions of fries (a single small cup is usually more than enough for me and another person) and unlimited toppings. Five Guys totally ranks on my top two for burger chains. Oh, and they have those awesome touch screen coke machines that I loved in ATL. There's sooo many drink choices! read more

Probably one of the best burgers in McAllen. Small and simple menu but all the toppings are free. In case you don't know, the regular burger is a double and the "little" is a single. The fries are given to you in huge portions so order smaller!! A small is enough for 2-3 people honestly! Malt vinegar and Cajun seasoning is a must on the fries. Enjoy! As others have mentioned here, this is a chain restaurant that has good consistent food and service, though I agree it is somewhat pricey. The burgers come with all the toppings you want and are a decent size, though maybe it's me but I feel they were bigger a few years ago. You get a huge helping of fries so get a small unless you're hungry or sharing with someone. Service here isn't the friendliest but not bad by any means, fast and efficient which is exactly why I went here. Got a regular burger, regular fry and small drink came to just under $15. This would be around $9 at Whataburger with a little less fries. They also have one of the awesome soda machines that makes about any drink combo you can imagine so that's a is too. No complaints from me, I've eaten here several times and will continue. read more

This place is great. The burgers are delicious. I've heard that people don't like the price but I don't see why. Combos at Whataburger are just as pricey and their patties are thinner. Same goes for Burger King... and Five Guys is soooo much better. The price, in my opinion, is worth it. They definitely give you lots of fries. I recommend them Cajun style.
