don't be fooled by the aesthetic. the pictures and the place are cute but the food is below average. it was flavorless and completely missing something. the pao de quejo was cold and hard. you're better off going to qdoba or chipotle. read more

Nothing special. I will say the staff was very professional and the environment was nice, but the food was nothing to rant and rave over. I ordered a large bowl with chicken and the amount of chicken I got was very disappointing for the price. Also, the fact that the chicken was cut so small that you could barely taste it with the abundance of rice that was in the bowl. All in all, I don't see this place staying busy for very long. There are not many good places to eat in Great Falls. If this place were somewhere else I would probably rate a 4. Since it's GF I'll give a 5. Meal was solid. Simple menu. Flavors were a little more subtle than I would like but most people like bland this far north. Restaurant was clean and staff was profecient and polite. Really didn't care for the food. Rice is bland and the meat options didn't look very tasty. Ended up getting the stew and it was Ok. Not many options for sides beside cilantro and collard greens. I wouldn't eat here again. What kept this from a two star review is the man who took my order was extremely friendly and explained all their options to me very clearly. read more

Healthy food with good portions and great taste. I frequent the Missoula and Bozeman locations and am happy Great Falls has a location now too. I travel frequently and finding healthy food is sometimes problematic. I love their mango BBQ sauce. I usually get brown rice, chicken, half collard greens and sweet potato, chimmichuri, and mango BBQ sauce. Always delicious! read more

We have been loyal customers of 5 on Black since they first opened in Missoula. We were excited when they came to Great Falls. During the COVID shutdowns we made special efforts to patronize our Great Falls location to show our support. For some reason the Great Falls location is now blasting music inside so loud it goes be beyond annoying...it is assaulting. When the loud music was addressed to the manager the answer was basically " this is what we do here..all our restaurants play music this loud". Basically I received a mouth full of attitude. What a wonderful addition to the west side! The food is healthy, tasty and reasonably priced. The entire menu is gluten free. The options are limited, but because you design your own bowl, there are lots of possible combinations. I had the grains+greens, beef, sweet potatoes and chimichurri.
