Pleasantly surprised! After a bit of a wait on a Monday night (the place was poppin'), I ordered the Trio Shrimp, my daughter ordered the Ahi tacos and we shared the guacamole. We both were gobsmacked. We're from California and have had very, very good Mexican food on multiple occasions. This was at that caliber - even better! The creamy chipotle sauce that was featured on some of the shrimp was finger-licking good. So was the Al Diablo for that matter. read more

I went here while in town for work with a colleague. After reading reviews we decided to give it a try. When we arrived the host sat us quickly and our waitress brought waters right away. Your meal comes with complimentary chips and salsa which tasted fresh and the salsa had a nice kick. I ordered the chicken fajitas which came with all the normal sides. Eveything was bountiful but the chicken was tough and the flavors were flat. After the waitress left our meal, she didn't return. We waited so long we asked someone if they could help us get water and the check. They said they would let our waitress know but she still didn't return for a while. If our waitress would have been available I would have asked for some lime. I think the extra acid would have helped add freshness. Still, I would give the place another try as this could have been an off night. Nextime I would plan for earlier in the day and a different entree. My wife went for a work lunch event and was absolutely floored by the place so she insisted we go. I'm Always skeptical of a Mexican food restaurant in Great falls! We don't have the greatest track record. Xochitl (So- Chill) had to overcome my bias and well... they absolutely did. And after our fourth visit, I still haven't found anything I didn't like. First time we went I had a combo platter, it was plentiful and delicious. The second time we went, I had the skirt Carne Asada. This has been my favorite so far. The skirt steak was perfectly cooked and the peppers, onions, beans and rice all on the side were delicious as well. The third time, I had the brisket street tacos, again Excellent. Last time we went at lunch and I just had the pork belly bites appetizer... these are addictive! Only things I can say on the not-so-positive side is there isn't much space for a large party so maybe keep your party small. On an up note, it gives you a chance to come back again with your other friends and family to try more of the delicious food. Lastly, as I say this keep in mind I'm a bit of a salt-a-holic... put a darn salt and pepper shaker on the table!l. Let me decide my optimal blood pressure level! read more

Came here on a whim on a Monday and it was PACKED - come to find out they had just opened. Since I was just one they were able to seat me at the bar (although I don't think it's usually first come first served). While I waited for my drink chips and salsa were brought out. The menu is pretty large but prices I thought were reasonable. I got a steak dish with queso onions mushrooms and rice. While the flavors were great it was a touch salty and the steak was a little overdone. The portion size was huge though. I plan to go back again soon! read more

Flew into town tired and hungry. Mexican looked good, big place on 10th. Went in and it was like a Chipotle. NO. Found myself back in the parking lot Yelping. Xochitl pops. Have visited twice for dinner so far and I am amazed at the smooth and efficient service while the team is dealing with the crowds that accompany a new restaurant opening! The menu has many options for familiar and new foods. The wait staff are smiling and friendly and efficient. The food is served quickly and has been excellent. The restaurant is very attractively done. Maybe the only thing I would ding them on is the loud music combined with the happy sounds of a full restaurant. Impossible to tell what is playing, just that it is very loud. Makes conversation a little difficult. Perhaps it varies based on seating location. Happy to have this fun new dining option! read more

Great service and super good food. The shrimp taco salad was loaded with perfectly seasoned and cooked shrimp. My wife had the chicken and steak burrito with crema sauce. A little too much sauce, but still good. Nicely decorated inside making it feel upscale. read more

Alot of great recommendations and we did try the carnitas with the Verde sauce I recommend you try. The ambiance lives up to the name so chill real relaxed atmosphere. One thing I did regret was nit trying the home made from scratch guacamole and the Senora making it looks like she know what she's doing very skill. Second time here, was better than the first! The food is authentic and not just Tex mex. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge. The whole vibe of the place is chill music fast service and great food. If you're a beer drinker I recommend the jalapeño Hefeweizen. Love this place. read more

Gahhh -- we just love this place! This was our second visit, and once again, the atmosphere was incredible. You can just feel the good vibes the moment you walk in! This time we had the pork street tacos (SO good!) and finished with chocolate cake and huckleberry ice cream -- and wow... absolutely delicious. Every bite was amazing. They don't have reservations or a phone number that works so we went to the restaurant at 5 to tell them we had 10 people coming. The person then put us on the waitlist as a party of ten and we got there at 6 when the waitlist said we had 0 minutes left of wait time. There were still parties ahead of us on the waitlist so we waited outside. Someone came outside an hour later and asked how big of a party we were and said he'll see what he can do for us. We waited from 6-8 because they said a table was almost done and we were going to sit there. That table was still mid meal so we left and then we were texted that in five minutes they'd be able to seat us. Waiting two hours when we showed up to the restaurant to tell them we had a large party and then arriving on time and not being seated is crazy. The hostess was also rude and did not help us when we asked when we could be seated. She said she would get her boss and she never did. Very disappointing because the food and drinks are amazing. I never expected to find a restaurant like this in Great Falls of all places. Our waiter was wonderful and passionate about the menu and the chef. He mentioned some of his favorite dishes. We started with the guacamole which was flawless. No joke. I was raised in California where everyone has an avocado tree or two in their backyard so I have had my fair share of guacamole. We had the fish and birria tacos which were tasteful. We also tried two of the bowls which were both very good. The chef knows how to mix his ingredients to bring out the best taste in each bowl and highlight certain flavors. The absolute highlight of the meal for me were the charro beans. In my book these were epic- I could have eaten en entire bowl of these with chips and guacamole. Service was also quick and we sat around for a while and were not rushed at all. We will defiantly return on our next visit to Great Falls. read more

This place is very busy, noisy, and crowded, since it's still in its first few weeks of opening. Fifteen minutes into our 45-minute wait for a table, we asked if we could be seated at the bar, where there were several open seats (no, those seats are reserved) or get our order to go (yes, and that will take 20 minutes). We tried to order but the host instead chose to take care of people in line behind us at the hostess stand, so that they might be seated and pay. He then told us to move away from the stand. We were shocked and disappointed that he would not accommodate us. We understand that a new place may have a few kinks to work out, but we found this treatment rude and insulting. We left and ate at Tracy's diner a couple of blocks away; the food was excellent, the service superb, and the atmosphere comfortable and relaxing. Won't be back to Xochitl anytime soon, if ever. read more
