My husband and I just moved into our forever home when we realized there was a leak coming in. My husband calls Mann construction and speaks with Jeremy who sets an appointment right away. I was impressed from the start as Jeremy not only showed up, but he was early and prepared. He did a thorough investigation of my roof to determine the issue. He was able to determine that I did not have the appropriate roof system up (I have a low sloped roof) and gave me multiple options to fix it. No other company even mentioned that I didnt have thr appropriate roofing system. Right after doing the physical part of the quote, he sent it to me right away! Now I had several roofers say they woukd send me the quote and then they ghosted me. At this point I was sold and nothing was done to the roof yet. Jeremy got us scheduled right away and the day of the work, the crew was early. The crew was extremely respectful of my home and did their best to cover/protect/clean the mess (I needed a partial tare off). Jake had an excellent presentation - They were the lowest bidder - The roof looks good and I have not had any issues with it. - Their "A" team came out to correct some issues (the flashing looked like it had been installed by a 4th grader) The Bad: - I was told that a PM would be onsite the entire time. In reality he was on site for maybe 10% of the project - My project was sub-contracted out to a another team and I was NOT informed of this. This became a major problem when I started having issues and could not talk to anyone (the subcontractors did not speak english). Note that Buffalo Fresh Roof is NOT the company you are signing with. The contract is actually with Bors Pros Construction - Within an hour on the first day, the protective tarps had come down and there was debris raining down on my deck and flower beds. When the PM showed up at the end of the day, he said that this could not be helped. Of course, that is garbage - they wouldn't put the tarps up if they didn't have a purpose. Also, this is not what I was told in pre-sales. As a side note, I saw the same sub-contractors working on a project down the street for another company a few weeks later. There were no problems with the tarps on that project. - The roofers decided to try to do a u-turn in my lawn and got stuck (I still have the ruts). They then gave me attitude when I refused to try to pull them out using my truck. - I have damage to my gutters, deck, flower beds and lawn. - I am still finding nails around the perimeter of the house To be fair, the PM did knock off the additional cost incurred in replacing some of the plywood. It wasn't worth what I am going to have to spend in the spring to fix my yard, flowerbeds and lawn - I just wanted them gone.

The roof started leaking at the vent pipe location. They first sent a guy who, instead of taking responsibility, completely denied there was any problem with the roof and said the vent pipe itself was the problem as it was rusted. We spent a $100 on getting the vent pipe checked out by an HVAC technician, who told us that the pipe was fine - no issues. So, I had to climb on the roof with a garden hose and run water on the roof to show that it was because of bad roof installation - I sent JP the video of the problem (the flashing of the vent pipe was not properly meshed with the shingles), and only then they agreed to fix it. The second problem is with the gutters, which are still not fixed. There is a gap between the new gutters and the roof, which is letting water to come through the gap. I have been trying to get hold of the person - they have promised to come 4 times over the last month but still have not fixed the problem. I have stayed home from work a couple of times just for it, and they did not even inform me that they were not going to make it that day. All in all, a very bad post-install service - a complete lack of professionalism!

They came out and gave me an estimate where a competitor wanted to come out and do the work but wouldn't give me a ball park number first. Others didn't respond. The weather caused the appointment to be pushed multiple times (snow and high speed winds which is what caused the damage in the first place), but the work is done and the gutter appears very secure now. Pricing seemed reasonable for the time and materials used. They were friendly and open to various payment options. The estimate came slightly under the quote, (rounding distance so very slight) which is always nice. Notes: I know it's hard being a contractor and taking calls while working, but more prompt notifications about appointments being moved would be nice. Communication wasn't timely but I had the sense that there wasn't a home office fielding work, so I'm certainly more understanding. Hard to be timely when you're dangling from roofs trying to get work down before the next storm wave. They were certainly better than some other contractors I recently worked with.

Out of all the companies that did show up ( 4 out of 5), Adam was the only estimator who actually went up on our roof and walked it to see how everything looked. Because of this, Adam's timeliness on coming out as well as getting a professional and itemized quote submitted to us and the reasonable cost, we chose to have Ava install our project. The contract was signed and job was scheduled within a week! The crew protected our house and did a great job stripping and installing new plywood, removed an old electrical service pipe that was no longer needed and reshingled our house in one day. They cleaned up the yard and left everything in great condition, which with our yard being wet and muddy, was a big hurdle! The gutter installers came a few days later and had our new gutters up in a few hours. They had their work cut out for them because it rained a great deal the days before so they were fighting mud as well. My house looks amazing with all of the improvements that Ava performed for us! I would recommend them to anyone who needs work done!

Ava had to come back to fix the issues we (as homeowners) uncovered, like: -used finishing nails instead of roofing nails in high wind areas -not tarring over exposed nails -had rippling of shingles in the back of the house -ridge vent didn't get added to the full roof -broke a beam and originally used a 2x4 on one side, didn't even notify me that this happened. -didn't cut soffits where they were supposed to -put feet through our ceiling in 2 areas and I discovered it on my own They fixed all these things properly and quickly, but only after I called to explain the same sub contractors they sent back originally, didn't do a good job fixing some of them. So then I asked for their actual internal installers to come out and fix. When they did that (sent Billy), the craftsmanship was much better. Now, 4 months after installation, my brand new bathroom vents are blowing air back in and not as strong anymore. We discover it's because of the way they installed the the roof vents. The grates are pushing up against the opening so they can't open fully. I'm beyond frustrated that poor installation caused all these issues to appear! Although Ava has come out each time, if I was an uneducated home owner, I would not necessarily be able to find these issues and push to get them fixed. If you choose to use them, make sure it's not a subcontractor doing the work and that they are using their internal team.

While the roof was open they installed 6" of cellulose insulation over the12" of existing fiberglass. Happy to say the quality materials and professional workmanship are still there. Mark and the crew kept our house dry even with the unexpected rain during installation. I was happy to see how little ice I had on my roof with all the snow we had in North Evans this year.
