We got several quotes to get a new roof on our home. Snow Country Roofing happen to come in with…read morethe lowest quote, but we chose them specifically because of their outstanding customer service. They did a great job walking us through every step of the process, explaining all of the costs, and working with us for how we wanted things done. The day that the roof was installed, everyone was very courteous, and they left everything looking very clean. I am very happy for my experience with them and I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking to get a new roof.

Within the first winter, the roof developed leaks at multiple roof-to-wall/dormer areas during snow and ice conditions, resulting in interior water damage. After reporting the issue, I was initially told the problem was not related to the roof installation. I ultimately hired an independent roofing inspector who identified multiple concerns with the installation, including flashing and ventilation issues. One of the most concerning findings was that a section of ridge vent present on the previous roof had not been installed on the new roof. After I repeatedly questioned this, Snow Country later returned and added the missing vent section. The company also came to the property unannounced while renters were staying there and performed extensive work into the evening without prior coordination or a written explanation of what was being repaired. I have spent thousands of dollars on temporary mitigation, inspection costs, snow/ice removal, and rental reimbursement while trying to prevent further damage and resolve the issue professionally. To date, I am still seeking reimbursement for damages and proper corrective repairs. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering this company: -ask detailed questions about flashing and ventilation, -insist on written documentation of all work performed, -and obtain independent inspections if problems arise. Or, choose another roofing company!

Matt had good reviews and references when I hired his company to do a roofing job: part of the job…read morewas on a brand new addition-- standing seam. The other part, replacing old metal on the original building with standing seam. The resulting outcome of Blue Sky's work: I ended up with banging whenever there was wind over about 20mph. We literally would move downstairs to sleep in the living room and office on windy nights. He came and looked, his hired guy stopped by and told me that I should "not be afraid to stick my head out there when it's happening so I could identify exactly where... ." But depending on the winds (direction, speed), it was in different places at different times, and on all sides. Matt denied any responsibility and refused to replace it, suggesting I could plug up the ridge vent (maybe with spray foam insulation!) and see if that helped. And also, I could try putting one nail in the middle of each panel, near the top. A brand new standing seam roof-- nail it down he said!!! Ughghhg. One year later, I had the entirety of Blue Sky's work replaced. The company I hired to replace all his work found that the clips were installed at 30 and more inches across the whole job. And as much as 36". Clips are typically installed at every 12 inches, and I have learned that it is advised to put them every 6" in areas that get high winds, which we do here near Lake Champlain. Since replacing all of Blue Sky's work, and we have absolutely no more banging.

I agreed with that timeline. Matt then sent me an email with the different types of roofs that he could install. Several weeks later I called to ask if there was an estimate as to when the estimate was going to be done. He claimed that he did not remember me and asked that I email him my name and address. I did that within the hour. Since then I have called and emailed several times (4 emails, 8 phone calls) asking for status but he never answers my calls or responds to my emails. Extremely poor customer service. If he didn't want the job he should have just said so. Now it is too late for me to hire anyone else and pieces of my roof are coming off.
