Customer service doesn't exist---I waited 2 weeks for estimate (September, 2025) then signed contract and sent deposit (October 2025) --another 2 weeks to schedule (November, 2025), and finally after several reschedules-----finally done in freezing cold on December 30, 2025. I have had a wonderful experience working with Vermont Construction to remove my old roof and install a new metal roof on my old home that was built in 1801. The Estimator, Elaina, was great with communication right from the start. She arrived on time, has a great handshake and looks you straight in the eye. We looked over my old house's quirkiness and she felt confident that her roofing team were up to the task. Her follow through was wonderful, and I never had a problem getting her on the line when I had a question or concern leading up to the start date. I met Todd Maxwell (who ran point as Project Manager on my metal roof replacement) about a week before my metal roofing project began. His extensive knowledge in construction definitely came in handy because my house likes to throw curveballs, and Todd caught them all! His strong communication skills really impressed me. I never felt like I didn't know what was going on or that I was being lied to. I am an involved owner and like to know what's going on and why, related to construction projects with my house and Todd leaned in to that. Todd's amazing team of roofers was managed by Alex, his Lead. Alex's team is beyond impressive. The roofing team picked up after themselves as they went through the day and definitely at the end of the day. They didn't leave scraps or trash or roofing debris strewn around. The roofers talked with each other respectfully, it was wonderful because my children didn't pick up any new "words" from them. The roofing team's work ethic was beyond anything I've experienced before in commercial or residential roofing. They were at my house at the break of dawn most days, and would leave after it was dark!!! They squeezed every ounce of light to do the job. If they were going to be late the next day, they'd let me know before they left. My whole experience working with Vermont Construction was beyond impressive. After the job was complete, Todd and Alex walked the jobsite with me, ensuring all things (big and small) were done to my satisfaction. After that, Todd walked the job site to pass his final approval and make sure it was all up to snuff. I would definitely work with Todd, Alex, their roofing team and Vermont Construction again for any and all of my roofing needs. We asked for help with a project, expecting that they would take a look at it, as did the wonderful company we hired in the end. Instead of looking at the job first, Vermont Construction Company went ahead and applied for permits before seeing the job and before I signed a contract, then charged me $570 for a job they never looked at and I didn't hire them to do. Very unprofessional. We are so happy that we went with their competitor, who incidentally got us the correct permits for the job, not the permit that VCC took out. How can you apply for the correct permit if you never look at the job? So thankful we picked the right company for us in the end. read more

Should have listened to the negative reviews. This is a SUB CONTRACT COMPANY!!!!!! Hired VT Construction Company to re-side my house. No one they sent spoke English, and Ryan from VT CC had to communicate with them via Google translate. Our house leaks, and the quality of workmanship looks like they learned from YouTube and tried it on our house first. Strips of siding aren't even connected. Trim work is HORRIBLE,. Did i mention my house leaks in several spots now? I could go on and on about all the mistakes and poor workmanship. They do not come back and warranty their work either. My house will. Likely need to be completely stripped and resides again. Over 50k out the window........ Cannot tell you how upset I am that we chose to go with this company for anything. read more

Project repeatedly delayed despite telling me it would happen "this week". Repairs by the contractor they used were great, but one section of gutters were too low so gutter guards they ordered could not be used. No solution was offered to fix this so now I still have to get my gutters cleaned which defeats the purpose of the whole project. Now I'll have to look for a company with better knowledge of gutter guards to come out and finish the job. read more

I had three quotes for this job. VCC was the lowest while being apples to apples to the high quote in terms of service, employees, and expectations. I was very happy with the results. The crew worked all day in 90 degree sunshine. If I have to say a negative, my invoice was $55 over expectation. Smallest problem I've had this year. read more

Super not happy or impressed with these guys. When we finally got on their schedule, which took a while and kept getting rescheduled, they said it would only take one day, maybe two to finish. The guy that showed up was not prepared at all. Despite sending photos to show what work needed to be done, he showed up without any of the materials needed nor where to find them. He took a look around and decided what we needed he needed to go back to Burlington to get so he didn't start work that day. He came back later in the week and finally got started, only to spend most of the day on a really small section of soffit, maybe 6/7 feet? It really seemed like he had no idea what he was doing. He eventually got around to starting a back section only to finish the day saying he didn't have the right ladder to do the side. By the end of the day he had started two sections of fascia and soffit, nothing was finished, and he managed to break a section of our vinyl siding, which is old and not replaceable. He was witnessed by other guys working on our house using a pack of shingles to prop his ladder up on the roof, when he was done he threw the shingles off the roof, the pack split open and threw a shingle at the siding which cracked and broke. I confronted them about it when I found out and they denied it happened. So I asked the other guys again, all three of them assured me they heard the shingles drop and saw that guys on the roof. They were all taking a break in the driveway. I confronted the Vermont Construction company again and they have since ghosted me. I haven't heard a peep. I will absolutely NEVER recommend these people again. read more

I contacted this company about getting help with a leaking roof. We were having ice damming, causing water to com into the house on both levels. I made clear in my messages that I needed a response quickly as this situation felt dire. Representatives at the company emailed me back fairly promptly and said that they would stop by the house and offer estimates. That seemed all good. Two months later, I'm still emailing, trying to get quotes...am told a quote is coming... and then, in an email (now two months later and two months delaying us in addressing this urgent issue) the response is, 'Sorry we cannot take on this job, call someone else'. This company is clearly incompetent and unprofessional. The experience was beyond infuriating! read more

i would not recommend this company for any job whatsoever. After a careful investigation of a roofing job they confirmed that they did not do the work as bid and were contracted to do, cut corners, did shoddy finish work, and overcharged for materials. While working the property looked like a war zone. They did not protect the gardens, threw debris everywhere and when questioned siad the gardens would grow back, so why worry. They are by far the worst construction company I have ever seen. read more

I Over communicated concerns about billing and was chastised and treated with condescending remarks. itemization of materials and work done was held back and not honestly presented.
