There is a sign asking all customers entering the store to use the automatic hand sanitizer dispenser at the front. There are arrows on the ground indicating which ways customers should walk. These were a bit funny though they all seemed to just point into the store with no way to get out. They also have plexiglass set up at the registers to protect their employees. When I walked in an associate was over almost instantly to help. I let her know what I was looking for and she checked with another employee to find it. It was a super quick and easy transaction. The only thing I will note is that it was a little overpriced versus what you can get from Amazon. I haven't been inside The Source in ages and was delighted with how well organized everything was. Gone are the days of the very cluttered Radio Shacks. They had a small console gaming session with some accessories and games. I kind of liked that it was the pared down version with only the most popular titles. They also had a lot of really fun lamps. Yes - lamps. There were smaller Himalayan salt ones, a globe lamp that you can actually draw on and erase, and some utility ones that are also built in desk organizers. A good visit all in all since I accomplished my mission and got some inspiration for desk decorating.

In July 2014 I went in to Cellular X located on the lower level of the Pickering Town Centre to fix…read morea power button issue on my S3. I was told the repair would take a day or two which turned into 5 days, much to my frustration. When I finally got my phone back my antenna which allows me to connect to wifi networks was broken (it had never been an issue before I got it fixed). When I told them about the problem, they held my phone for another 4 days promising to fix it. They fixed absolutely nothing and replaced my battery with a worse one (who knows why, nothing was wrong with it in the first place). When I went in and explained how they messed up a perfectly good phone (since it STILL didn't work) the technician yelled at me on the phone and told me he didn't even open up my phone in the first place so the antenna could not have been broken by him. I was livid. I then took it to ANOTHER technician at a different cell repair store, who opened the phone right in front of my eyes (the second I walked into his store) and told me someone had in fact broken the antenna at Cellular X and tried to solder it back on horribly (I saw the soldering job and it was atrocious). Long story short: lots of phone calls later to Cellular X, money spent and not fully refunded and weeks later, my phone is not repairable. A year and a half old Samsung 3, a $400 dollar phone, ruined. All because these people didn't know what they were doing. I am HIGHLY dissatisfied with the level of customer service and I know for a fact that many other people feel the same way. Shortly after this all happened, I posted a Facebook status telling my friends about my experience with the store and was met with many comments about their own horrible experiences with Cellular X. Needless to say, I have complained to the owner of the company (obviously with no reply) and will be writing many, MANY reviews online about this bad business. I have never in my 10+ years visiting Pickering Town Centre experienced such terrible customer service.
