He emailed me a quote. It was a lot more than I expected, but I have NO frame of reference. No one else would give me a quote so I don't know if this was a good price. But based on his character and work ethic I like to think he charged the going rate. I had a fence guy do some work years ago, and on both occasions I asked him to use some posts I already had. Both times he didn't. I should have sent my posts with him and deducted the price of the new ones but I didn't. Well, Ray saw the pile of posts and offered to use them! And my chain link fence repair was done reusing all the materials he could. The two strands of barbed wire were not in the original quote. The total came to just under $9000 (gulp) but it's done and it's a nice sturdy job. I will try to include pictures of the pasture fencing, but the fee included a lot of work on the chain link also.

My split rail cedar fence was falling apart. 17 or so posts were rotten and needed to be replaced…read more The only thing holding sections of the fence off the ground was the wire fence inside and stapled to the posts. Other companies came in and told me that the entire fence needed to be replaced and that the labor involved with removing that wire fence from the posts and then replacing the posts would cost about the same as ripping it all out and building a new one. Plus they thought the wire fence would be destroyed by removing all of those staples. Rucker Fence did the post replacement in a couple days for a third of the price. No up-selling, no lies, just good, honest, hard working folks. The wire fence survived the staple removal and reattachment just fine.

You get what you pay for. No tension wire was installed. When I called them after deer of some…read morelarge animal ran through my newly installed fence. I was told that that had to be a customer requested item. I have learned more than I wanted to about fencing from a commercial fence installer, should have paid him to come up from Atlanta for the job. I was going to have them come out to put tension wires, but canceled when noticing other things that have left me thinking about having it reinstalled by professionals. 1. No tension wires installed. Without tension wires the bottom will roll up with pressure. My puppy learned escape this way. 2, The wires clips used to attach to support pipe can bent by hand. On the old fence you would struggle to bend them with a good set of pliers. Deer simply blew these When they ran into it one night. 3. On one panel they never installed the wire clips to the support. 4. The corner and main support post were cut too short. On one section there is 6" to 9" of fence simply lying on top of the ground. 5. They repaired a section of the old fence that a tree had fallen on. They did not re-attach the fence to it or fix a gap at the bottom. 6. Probably not under their control but the hardware is not the quality of my old fence. Most likely a supply issue. I would not use this company again. I would gladly pay the fence company I used in the past even though we're considerably high in cost.
