Olive + Lavender Farms - Collection of cold-pressed olive oils and unique balsamic vinegars

We tasted from the counter and amazing taste that we had to bring some home! The balsamic vinaigrette, the herbal and garlic oil came home with me!!! I definitely recommend and I have to be back not so rushed to enjoy all the things. They also have a small shop

They offer a complimentary olive oil tasting, allowing you to truly appreciate the depth and character of each variety. The fresh bread served alongside the tasting is crafted from scratch in nearby Los Alamos at Bob's Well Bread Bakery, and it is delicious. A few of my personal favorites were the Santa Ynez, Garlic, and Habanero olive oils. The Garlic was so outstanding that I immediately purchased a bottle to take home. It is incredibly versatile. The setting itself is just as memorable as the tasting. There is ample charming outdoor seating beside a small creek, and the gentle sound of flowing water creates a peaceful, almost meditative atmosphere. The vibes are truly immaculate. Inside, the shop is beautifully styled and filled with thoughtfully selected gifts and, of course, an impressive array of olive oils available for purchase. Hayley (sorry if it's spelled wrong) was especially warm and helpful, making the visit feel welcoming. They also offer WiFi, which allowed us to linger a bit longer and get some work done. It is rare to find a place that combines quality, hospitality, and atmosphere so seamlessly.

We got married here September 2021, and it was the most picturesque and beautiful wedding you could ever dream of. It was so perfect for us, because we were able to have our entire family stay there for the weekend, have a welcome and exit brunch, rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception all in the same place. We didn't have to compromise any beauty, and it ended up being truly spectacular. We want to revisit And do another than here. You can pick blueberries, and just be one with nature. There is a feeling in the air that you really can't replicate, not even in pictures but nonetheless it is truly perfect. If you have a wedding here, you will not be disappointed. It is way better than your traditional cookie cutter venue. Shay and Ed were both wonderful as well, and were there for us every step of the way. If we had any question no matter how basic, they were there to lend a helping hand.

A few things to note: when we arrive the heater was not working and it was going to be extremely cold that night. The owners came out and fixed the heater and re-stocked the firewood for us. There are technically two showers, however the second one is in the mud room and it was way too cold to use in the evenings. Thus we shared one bathroom. Beautiful scenery and located in a great part of town.

When they found out it was my birthday, they treated me very nicely and that was greatly appreciated. The Tavern is also a pretty space for dining and that made it even better. My wife had the kale salad (she loved it) and we shared the fried cauliflower and mashed potatoes (also good) The one downside was that I had the pork chop as my main and it was way overdone. It was a bit tough to eat. Otherwise Mattei's would have been 5 stars for sure. The next morning we went back and visited the coffee bar. Drinks were excellent, we got the cheesy eggs/toast which was very good and they have a nice seating area.

We had specifically chosen this restaurant because we were traveling with our dog and understood that their outdoor seating area was dog-friendly. We were told that the outdoor patio was closed for a private event. Since we had made our reservation more than a week in advance, it would have been helpful if the restaurant had notified us ahead of time so we could have made other arrangements. Unfortunately, we ended up having to leave our dog back at the hotel. To their credit, the hostess did her best to accommodate us and found us a table in the bar area near the fireplace. However, the location wasn't ideal for an anniversary dinner. Guests frequently walked and stood in front of the fireplace directly in front of our table, and at one point other patrons even sat down at our table, making what was supposed to be a romantic evening feel awkward and disrupted. The food itself was excellent, and we genuinely enjoyed our meal. Had it not been for the reservation mix-up and the restaurant's lack of proactive communication regarding the patio closure, this would likely have been a much higher-rated experience. Unfortunately, the service and overall experience fell short of what we expected for such a special occasion.
