I have a new pup (Yorkie mix). I called and the receptionist was very helpful, booking an appointment the next day. (I realize this is not always possible, but I was able to.) When I brought my pup in, the receptionist was welcoming. One walked around and was petting her. The pup's name is Khloe (but still not sure if I want to spell it with a 'C' :) I saw the Vet tech immediately and then Dr. Langley. What a wonderful and thorough Veterinarian. She took the time to answer all of my questions (and I had a lot for not having a pup in the last fifty years. LOL Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Really disappointed that after the renovations, the "cat area", a place that's supposed to be for cats to not be around stressful stimuli, is just a small table against the wall in the back between two staff doors that are always rushing with people coming in and out. Brought our cat in to officiate our asthma concerns and know what we needed to do for it, this quick trip then then turned into a recommendation to putting our cat down because they believed he could have a heart defect, then proceeded to say that it would be 500$ just to test if he had the heart condition and tell us there would be nothing they could do besides euthanizing him. Said they could send him home with steroids for the asthma but then there's a high probability he wouldn't make it through the night if he has the heart defect, what kind of professional advice is this? Then they state if he has the asthma they would still recommend us surrendering our animal, leaving us in the dark not knowing what would happen to him or if he would get the proper care, which he most likely wouldn't. Very unprofessional establishment who only cares about money and not your pets life. SAVE YOUR TIME, MONEY, AND YOUR FUR BABIES LIFE!!!!!!! if i could give this place 0 stars i would. i downloaded yelp just to leave this review. my kitty wasn't feeling right and i didn't have a primary vet at the time so i decided to take her here. something was up with her bowel movement, and i was concerned that she may have swallowed a hair tie or something of the sort. the doctor working that day (i can't remember the name i was extremely traumatized from the whole experience) told me they were going to do x-rays. they did and she found "strings ripping kitties intestines apart". i broke down at those words. surgery needed to happen and it needed to happen quick they said. my mother and i went back home to grab some cash and came back to my kitty already "prepped for surgery" only to be told by the same doctor that they "close at a certain time" and if they "start the surgery, kitty will be sent home on anesthesia and there's a possibility that she won't wake up". I said No i'm going to take my baby somewhere else. they then proceeded to charge us over $1,000 for x-rays and surgery prep. x-rays, understandable. charging for surgery prep when u clearly weren't able to do a proper and professional surgery, or even let us know that you're prepping for surgery is absolute insanity. we gave them the money and went to St Aug. The vets in St Aug took my kitty's x-rays and found the REAL issue for under $400. She was blocked up with hair and needed a laxative. There were NO strings ripping my baby's intestines apart. During an emergency visit and exam Dr. Wyatt (EMERGENCY VET, DAY SHIFT) stated that feline JM's digestive system was NOT full of stool (I suspected it was based on symptoms & behaviors) but a few minutes later X-rays proved quite the opposite. She then went on to say that his drugged-like movements and demeanor were a result of him being "pissed" (her word) about having had X-rays and blood drawn, when in fact he was having a NEUROLOGICAL EVENT RIGHT THERE IN HIS CARRIER IN THE EXAM ROOM! By the time we arrived home 20 minutes later he couldn't walk. When I spoke with Dr. Wyatt -- THE SAME EMERGENCY VET -- she instructed me to take him to ANOTHER EMERGENCY VET because there was nothing more she could do for him. This is just one of many negative experiences and reasons why I am hesitant to see anyone other than Dr. Mendez, who is worth her weight in gold. I have received thorough care from every vet that I've seen and I have left there feeling good about the treatment my pets have received. Yes, it is expensive, but every pet care hospital is expensive. That's why I have pet insurance on all of my animals! Dr. Morosco has been treating my cats diabetes and because of her dedication and recommendations, my cat is now in remission as of a few days ago! When an emaciated dachshund who could barely stand up was thrown on my doorstep a year or so ago, I brought her to Flagler Hospital and she was treated immediately and is now a happy, healthy pooch. Wow, it's all about the money with this place and not the care of your beloved Animal. We were there yesterday and a new puppy yellow lab was bought by a shady breeder who claims it was vaccinated against parvo. Yet, this dog 3 years old has parvo. They would not do a damn thing to help until they had money from 3 different people paying. They wanted $2500 to hospitalize this animal with everyone out of work. So, instead, they gave a bag of i.v. no instructions, medication, and that was it. They made sure they collected $433.00 for payment just for a few antibiotics, i.v bag, and minimal instructions. They don't care about the animal. They care about the money. Stephanie, manager, has the nerve to say "we risk our lives everyday" I said, and you aren't unemployed be grateful. I forget the name of the vet who saw my Buddy she was very thorough. Buddy is very old he had a bad hot spot that would not heal no matter what we tried on it. Our old go to remedies just weren't working on it. He is also covered in old man bumps that dogs get in old age. He had a swollen lymph node also on the same side behind his leg. The vet examined him and gave him antibiotics for his hotspot a powder medication. If this didn't work we were going to need to biopsy some old man bumps. Thank you God it worked!!! Buddy healed right up and the lymph node is no longer swollen at all. It's been a few months. He is back to his old self running around so happy. Thank you to the staff and vets here. We are always happy with the treatment of our animals here. I do wish they were still open over night like they used to be. But I'm sure happy they are not closed and are still top notch in animal care. We take our cat here too! Our cat kept getting a very bad runny eye which a nice vet (this time it was a male vet) prescribed an ointment for and he has been great since it cleared right up. This is a really excellent vet hospital & I feel so blessed to have it here for our pets. Every staff & vet we have encountered here has been so caring & kind. Don't take your animals here , ever since they were sold it's all about $$$$. our dog had surgery and 5 days later was bleeding.the claimed my dog and us for not leaving cone on .they told me stitches shouldnt come out that quick ( isn't the cone used so my dog wouldn't lick her wound but they said she must of scratch them .and $425 to re-stitch it .one staff told me I would need to speak to manager.only to be told 15 minutes later we don't have a manager.so I had to pay for their mistakes.every since they were sold it's all about $$$$ read more

After a shocking visit with our local vet we were referred to Flagler Animal Hospital for an emergency blood transfusion for our precious chihuahua, Ruby LuLu. We then met the absolute best vet EVER, Dr Trisha Doswell She is a professional who not only loves her job but also her patients! She treated our Ruby with such loving kindness and gentleness which also made us feel more calm during this emergency. We give Dr Doswell a 10!!! We give the hospital a 4 due to costs and putting the huge amount of money up front. There is also a front desk girl who is rude (the other staff advises she is pregnant) but the other staff have been friendly and kind. read more

Never ever go to this vet. I have a 20 year old cat that they have been seeing for 9 years. I called recently to simply renew a mild appetite stimulant. They have informed me that they can not renew the prescription because I have not been there since 2019. I informed them that my cat was fine and due to Covid I felt there was no need to bring him in. They still refused citing some law. They never even called to tell me that they would not renew. An excellent experience end to end. A starving little kitten came out of our woods covered in tics and fleas, with respiratory & eye infections. Took this little baby to Flagler Animal Hospital. It was an interesting but excellent experience with the new precautions in place. Tables set up outside, signed in, they took the kitten and I waited in my car. Within 20 minutes I received a call from the doctor with full detail of the kitten's health issues, what the recommend treatment would be and how much it would cost. The doctor addressed all my concerns and provided appropriate guidance. Once the kitten was treated, he was returned to me at my car (under an hour from the time I pulled in to the time I pulled out) and I received a follow up call to check on his status 2 days later. A subsequent follow up appointment for vaccinations went just as smooth and again with excellent communication. I do look forward to meeting the vet in person but in all honesty, these were the most smooth and convenient vet appointments I have ever experienced with any of my pets!! My kitty got into a fight and got a really bad cut so i took him to Flagler Animal Hospital. Prior to going I called to check on fees and rates. The office visit was $85 for after hour, only $35 more. All other fees would be charged the same as regular hours. The gal on the phone, Stacy, was very helpful and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was informed that the doctor was going into surgery and it maybe a while. I was a bit disappointed as I wouldn't have made the trip. Once the staff learned that I don't have time during the day as I work out of town, they immediately rearrange the schedule and saw us right away. Oslo, the kitty, was very comfortable with the doctor and his assistant. He got fixed up and we were sent home with instructions. The total bill was very reasonable, in my opinion. I could not be more pleased with the experience I had today at Flagler Animal Hospital. My cat needed emergency surgery from a foot injury and they treated us like family. From making the appointment to being seen, discussing findings, and working on a budget. The Doctor was exceptional and provided me with a great understanding of what was going on. She called me immediately after surgery to let me know everything went well and the staff called me an hour later to update me on my kitty. I was so pleased and felt they really cared about the health of my pet. I felt extremely comfortable leaving him on their care. When I picked him up his nurse had a big smile in her face and I could tell Cooper was taken care off. I am considering switching all my pets to their care. 100% recommended read more

We took our 4 year old rescue dog to this place. The people are unfriendly - in fact ignored us. Our dog is very anxious and it took a bit of an effort to get him settled down enough to take the ride there. Consequently we arrived at 11:50 instead of 11:40. They sent us away despite my explanation & could only fit him in 2 weeks from now. I will not go back to Flagler Animal hospital! My wife took our Yorkie there to get her evaluated for a teeth cleaning and exam. We also wanted to get her nails trimmed. After an hour and a half visit, they told her they couldn't draw blood or clip her nails because "Cujoe" was trying to bite everyone and was nervous. Funny, our groomer at PetSmart deals with this five pound terror all the time without an issue. They said they would have to muzzle her, to which my wife said fine, do it. They then presented her with an estimate for the cleaning and possible extractions: $1,000 - $1,500. My wife said don't bother with the muzzling as she was done there. My wife used to be a vet tech and is an R.N. She did the extractions on dogs; it's not rocket science. Bear in mind we have our horses teeth floated, which involves a vet coming to our house and sedating a 1200 pound animal and spending the next half hour grinding the teeth's surfaces, and there are lots of them. It costs about $250. Now, I could easily write a check for 1500 bucks, but I won't. I like our dog, but she is a dog. I'm not against people making money, but if you have to pay $1500 to get some of this "compassion," then it IS all about the money, and that's the feeling I get there. I'd rather write a check to help some hungry kids eat. Update: We had our yorkie's teeth cleaned and 19 extractions. The bill was under $500 at Shelton's. read more

It was late at night so all the vets were closed so I took my very sick guinea Pig to the Flagler animal hospital and when I got there the nurse at the desk wouldn't even look at him! I told her he was very sick and she refused to take him and said that they don't take guinea pigs at all and to take my dying Guinea pig 30 minutes away to the Daytona hospital. Ridiculous! Visiting Florida a number of years ago B.Y. (before Yelp), I was in need of an emergency veterinarian visit for my dog. I ended up at the Flagler Animal Hospital (at the time because it was the closest vet) and had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ware who treated my dog. I was impressed walking in the facility how clean and spacious the waiting and reception area were. The staff at the time was phenomenal and the professionalism of Dr Ware was memorable as I still remember how thorough and knowledgeable she was. So I guess this will be like two reviews in one! Visiting Florida again, I was in need of a veterinarian this morning. I didn't hesitate to call Flagler Animal Hospital. They told me to 'head on down' and entering the facility, it was just as clean and inviting as the last time I was there. This time I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Tate who examined my dog, had complete blood work done and sat down with me to completely explain the results in a most unhurried manner. Dr. Tate appeared concerned and made sure that everything was understood. It was a pleasure to talk to Dr. Tate; many veterinarians and many medical doctors seemed to be in 'rush' mode. He is a perfect gentleman and a knowledgeable doctor. I have to mention that the hospital appeared to be adequately staffed and everyone I met didn't seem to act like theirs was just a 'job'. Everyone seemed 'pet friendly ' and concerned about the animals. While I was there, I noticed that the hospital is open 24/7 with emergencies taken in after hours and from 7 pm on Friday until 7 am on Monday. If I lived in Florida and was within two hours of the Flagler Animal Hospital, this would be my regular vet. Anyone visiting the area who needs emergency veterinary care should not hesitate to contact them. When I called today, they almost seemed apologetic that the emergency exam fee was $85 plus any blood work and meds etc. When I walked out, I thought the total price was completely appropriate for the services rendered and the quality of the services rendered. The fee was probably as much, maybe even less than I would pay for the same services in New York (this doesn't mean that they should raise their rates). Thank you Flagler Animal Hospital! read more

I rushed my dog in for emergency care after being hit by a truck tonight. The staff was wonderful with her! She was taken care of right away. However, we weren't prepared to pay the bills associated with the visit and they weren't willing to set up a payment plan. We didn't qualify for care credit. We were initially told one price, found a family member who was graciously able to pay it for us and then were told that there was more costs. Luckily, said family member was able to take care of those costs for us as well. Seems to me they were just more than interested in the money. Needless to say, we won't be going back there to have her staples removed or if another emergency happens. I wonder what would have happened if we couldn't have found someone to pay anything at all for us? Would they have refused treatment? read more

What an amazing and caring experience we have had going to Flagler Animal Hospital. Sunday our dog woke up and his back legs would not work. We were very concerned for him and our veterinarian was closed I have heard about this veterinarian and gave them a call we were told to bring our dog in right away. From the young man who greeted us to the woman who took our dog into the back office for a short test we were treated with caring and exceptional service. The Dr who saw our dog Dr Morosco was amazing,she could tell we very concerned and explained everything in a way we could understand his condition. Dr Morosco gave us options to treat our dog and we were able to take him home. 5 days later we had some questions so we called the office and the doctor returned our call very promptly. We took our rescue dog in who needed immediate treatment and ultimately surgery for an oral tumor and multiple teeth extractions. The technician, Alex, who performed the cleaning was the best we've ever encountered. Both Vets were caring and beyond competent. Simply the best we've ever encountered. First ever visit left without being seen by vet. The woman who did the intake form was a fool. She spoke to my wife and I like we were idiots. We gave her our paperwork on our dogs last visit concerning his shots. She proceeded to misinterpret everything telling us that our dog needed rabies shots that his were only good for one year when it started right on our paperwork the rabies were good for 3 years. Then she proceeded to tell us the distemper was good for three years also, the paperwork stated good for only one year. After being called on her mistakes she claimed she was missing her glasses how unprofessional. Making things up because you're not sure of what your doing is absurd especially when it comes to dealing with medications. We were about two months early on our dogs yearly shots and wellness exam. This woman insisted the doctor told her we were way too early. No one ever asked when our dog was vaccinated last year. We did tell them we were coming in for our yearly vaccinations . This intake women patronized us when she herself was confused. Very sad first impression and we will never go back again. Also confusing when you arrive your told to call a number and when prompted press #2 on your phone that number is their emergency number. Who ever answers the phone has no clue you're trying to tell them you're there for your appointment. I had to tell them this is what your sign says to do but it's their emergency number. Way too large a company very poor communication after appointment setting at time of your visit makes for a very dangerous setting. I called and left a message about what happened outside no one called me back.......Very bad experience good thing my wife was present I could have never explained to her what happened at the vet today.....wow does anyone care anymore...... went back to the vet where I moved from well worth the travel time. OK, so nothing pisses me off more than bait and switch. Had an emergency situation with my dog. Called this hospital and ask them what the price would be for emergency surgery. Was quoted $2000 maybe as high as 2500. You wait 3 1/2 hours and then you're told that the exact surgery, no complications, can cost as much as 4500. And could be more??????? Then the problem gets blamed on the receptionist. Nothing like not taking accountability for your actions. I hate being a victim. I know nobody likes being a victim but what I hate even more than that are predators and bullies. When you wave your dogs life in front of someone's face and then rip them off that's a predator. Cannot stand predators. I will never go back to this place, never refer them. 500.00 exam with X-rays here comes the old bait and switch. Then the doctor tries to tell me it's not the switch as if I'm an idiot quoting somebody one price and then doubling it without changing the circumstances around it is the very definition of bait and switch. Flagler Animal Hospital seems to be all about the mighty $$$$. Our dog was treated for a very expensive hot spot back in Aug. 2018. ($700 Later) We received several Rx's for this condition and the one that worked was a topical powder. Well on 5/22/19 it resurfaced. Unfortunately, he was on the Appalachian Trail with my wife conducting a through hike. Well I attempted to call the clinic in order to refill this topical powder to mail it to them, but I was met with an automatic "No, he needs to be seen". Well I tried to explain that this was not possible since they were basically out in the wilderness, but the gentleman couldn't read between the lines. Argh... Well neither can I anymore and it appears that you have lost a great customer. Adios Amigos, I won't be back! read more

AMAZING!!! If I could give this place 1000 stars i would. We have been to FAH a few times with very sick pets. One was a car with a UTI that was an hour away from bursting his kidney. The other, most recent, was our dog. He had been vomiting for 24 hours almost non stop. We took him in and he was quickly diagnosed with pancreatitis. The next day he wasn't doing better other than no more nausea because of the anti nausea medication. They said the new exam with be free of charge. Since he wasn't better they kept him for observation overnight. When he didn't get any better they did another x-ray. Something that some vets wouldn't have done until a few more days had passed. They found an obstruction in his stomach. Within 2 hours he was going under surgery and is now much better. They have saved 2 of my pets. Dr. B is amazing and compassionate not to mention incredibly hard working. When we visited our dog, all of the nurses and vet tech stopped by to say hi and check on him. Thank you to FAH. I have 2 senior dogs. I have used Flaglers' emergency services a couple times over the last couple months. They saw my dog quickly. Dr. Bogunovic has been very helpful and is an excellent veterinarian. However, we had an issue with a couple of the medications my dog is on. They shorted us twice. The first one they charged us for the month supply and only gave us 1 weeks worth. The other medication was supposed to have a stopper in it to use with a syringe. It didn't have the stopper in it so therefore spilled all over my kitchen counter. We spoke with this absolutely AWFUL person STEPHANIE HART about it. She should be FIREDShe was rude and condescending like I was a child. She wouldn't help us with the medication at all after we've spent approximately $3000 there over the last 2 months. These medication issues were their fault. Go to a well known pharmacy to get your pets medication. Don't get ripped off at Flagler Animal Hospital. STEPHANIE HART should be FIREDShe's awful at her job. Please fire her so you don't lose a great customer! read more

After two unsuccessful trips to Emergency and Veterinarians, both of which diagnosed our cat with snake bite. The emergency Clinic tried to commit us to a $5,000 fee to hospitalize our cat. This did not even include anti-venom! We called Flagler Animal Hospital, who said they could see him right away, and if necessary, give him the anti-venom. I arrived, they took him right in, diagnosed the "bite" as an abscess. They drained several tbsps. of pus, flushed the puncture, gave him an antibiotic shot, and called me back to explain the treatment. Instantly he looked and felt better!! They just called to follow up on his condition. I could not be happier, even though they are located in an adjacent county, I will travel for any other emergency for either of my cats. They are family, and were treated as such by the Doctors and associates. would definitely recommend for any treatment or supplies. read more

This place is terrible. The vet was outrageously unprofessional. My very ill 8 week old puppy was taken here. After it was determined that she was dying, they refused to put her down as they felt it was inhumane; instead they wanted to run a myrid of testing such as bone marrow transplants, blood transfusions, etc. on my puppy who was 1 pound under weight. When talking with them, the euthinesia consultation was 50 and the consult was 95. So we asked for a euthinesia consultation, which they agreed to. However we DID NOT sign any paperwork authorizing any form of treatment, and they just took her back and said the doctor would call. In addition they also refused to look at any of the previous vet records, even in an emergency situation, instead insisting on starting from square one on everything. When we asked for her back so that we could allow her final hours to be peaceful with her owners, they refused to give her back and handed us a 281$ bill. They claimed to perform things when we never even signed any documentation green lighting anything. The prices they wanted to charge us were changing sporadically. Then they changed gears and tried getting us to pay for several thousands of dollars worth of heart and bone marrow surgeries on her. A complete contrast to their earlier stance. When we refused, we were then berated for supposedly being bad owners and that we were the reason she was dying ( she was born with a severe heart murmur we were unaware of ). When we contested the bill they refused to bring my dying puppy out, and instead kept calling every 5 minutes to try and corner us about treatment and getting us to agree to horrendously expensive surgeries that our primary vet said would never be survivable for our small puppy due to her being under weight and anemic (due to the heart murmur and worms we were unaware of). Sadly, she slipped into a coma shortly thereafter and died that same evening; Her suffering was prolonged for 5 hours and she was having issues breathing. They were horrible to us and made an already stressful situation worse; I would not recommend them for their callous behavior towards my shihtzu nor my family in a great time of need.
