It is located in an old girl's school. We made sure to make reservations as we heard this is a popular place. It looks like a small deli and has a really cool vibe with a bunch of tables. They have vegetarian options for those that do not eat meat. I ordered the pastrami sandwich that they are known for. It was really good. My other friend ordered the pastrami salad, another the Reuben, and another their vegetarian sandwich. It was here that I discovered one of my favorite German Beers, Bayreuther Hell. My friend ordered lemon and ginger tea and was given hot water with a real lemon wedge and ginger root in it. I noticed that this is common in Germany. Service was great, food was delicious and it was exactly what we needed after a long day. I highly recommend!

Now, when eating a meat-based sandwich (be it a burger, a hotdug, cold cuts ... etc), I usually don't like the flavour being ruined by any addition except for cheese. Yet, this one had all the flavors sitting in well together without watering down any of the flavours. It was a very hunger-squashing quick meal for only 3.5 Euros. Totally recommended. P.S: If you're a vegetarian/vegan, the place still offers the usual middle eastern veg. fare like Halloumi and Falafel.

Hallo liebes Flamingo-Team, sehr gerne gehe ich fast jeden zweiten Tag (und manchmal auch jeden Tag) bei euch essen. Ich finde die Speisen im Flamingo sind echt spitze, stets frisch und alles ist überwiegend selbst gemacht. Es gibt verschiedene Suppen in der Woche und das Tagesgericht wechselt jeden Tag. Ich verbringe sehr gern Zeit im Flamingo auch wenn man sich in der Mittagszeit an eine etwas längere Schlange anstellen muss aber wo in Berlin muss man sich nicht um diese Uhrzeit anstellen oder etwas länger warten? Das Personal ist super freundlich und die beiden Chefs haben immer einen aufheiternden Spruch auf den Lippen;) Alles in allem bin ich sehr gern da, das Ambiente/Location ist schön. Interessante Kombinationen wie Gorgonzola mit Weintrauben, Roastbeef mit Wasabi oder Parmaschinken und Büffelmozzarella mit Birne. Ständig wechselnde Auswahl leckerer Suppen und in der Regel auch ein bis zwei warme Gerichte. Alternativ Salate nach Wunsch konfigurierbar. Erstaunlich viel los mittags nach nur einem Monat am Start. All of the different food items on the plate were "bleeding" into one another because of the water running through the eggs. Pickles in an omelette don't really mix well. Though I had no idea I would be getting pickles. This wasn't stated on the English menu. If you love pickles, then no worries, but I'm not a fan -- especially in eggs. Aside from that, a service charge of 19% was added to my bill without prior knowledge. This was not stated anywhere on the menu that I saw, nor did the waitress make that known. The service was friendly and hospitable though. The only redeeming factors were the delicious chai tea, which I really loved, and the atmosphere of the place was was pleasant and jovial. They also have great WiFi download speeds but know that upload speeds are slow. Be warned, if you're allergic to the sounds of babies crying, you also might want to look elsewhere!

I sampled their cappuccino, some of their black coffee, and a lemon poppyseed cake, and everything was delicious. The portions were sizable and reasonably priced. I'll definitely be making this a regular stop when I'm in the area. Logistical notes: the free WiFi didn't work for me, but there were other public networks nearby that fit my needs. They have clean restrooms. They *do* take cards, but there is a purchase minimum of €4.

The toast took a bit longer than I anticipated to come out but when it did the portion was huge - two thick slices of bread and a side salad! It was so delicious I wish I could have finished it all. I took the apple crumble to go as a course side snack for later and it did not disappoint - hours later it was still incredibly tasty! I definitely have this place saved for next time I'm in town regardless of what time it is or what other options are open!
