On 1/23/2025 I booked a new client appointment for my dog to receive a wellness check using their online platform which requires a $40 fee to reserve a spot. The appointment website charged me money and glitched out. I never received confirmation of an appointment. I called them to ask if there was anything in their system and the staff on the phone rudely said "call your bank" refused to check if I was on their system or even to help me schedule something in. She then proceeded to hang up. I called back twice and was immediately placed on hold indefinitely. Rude staff and if this is how they treated new clients, I for sure dodged bullet trusting my pets with these kinds of people. I will report this business to my bank for fraudulent activity and I will take my business elsewhere. read more

I have great respect for Dr. Kenton. His clinical skill, clarity, and genuine care for animals are the reason I have continued coming here. He is an excellent veterinarian, and my pets have always been in capable hands with him. However, the front desk staff consistently undermine the quality of his work. They are routinely dismissive, unhelpful, and show little compassion when interacting with clients. In a profession built around people's beloved pets, often during stressful or emotional moments, compassion and a service oriented mindset are not optional. They are foundational. When a client is met with indifference or callousness at the front desk, it creates distrust and leaves the impression that the human side of care is not valued here. This is unfortunate, because the veterinarian himself demonstrates the opposite. I hope leadership seriously reevaluates the front desk team. The practice's reputation, and the trust that clients place in it, depend on staff who treat people with empathy and professionalism. Dr. Kenton deserves a support team that reflects the same standard of care he provides. read more

I drove 30 minutes each way, two days in a row, hoping to get help for my cat--and both times I ran into Christopher. He works near the exit, not the front desk, and refused to help me at all. My cat had to get a cone, and Christopher wouldn't even show me how to operate it, acting as if I was supposed to know already like a vet. I had to go out of my way just to get assistance from the other side of the clinic. I was very sad and frustrated, almost in tears, feeling completely dismissed. Christopher is extremely rude, unemotional, and clearly bored on the job. He should not be working at a veterinary clinic--period. I even had a meeting with his manager because his behavior was unacceptable. The one bright spot was Crystal. She was amazing, compassionate, and genuinely helpful. She made sure my cat got the care we needed, and I can't thank her enough. If you go to Flamingo Pet Clinic, ask for Crystal. As for Christopher...he needs serious accountability. Our precious cat was sick and having trouble breathing.The vet we had been seeing was closed and we found Flamingo Pet Clinic. Due to severity of breathing issues Dr. Kenton examined our cat right away. Our cat required an x-ray which unfortunately showed fluid around his lungs. As his condition was extremely serious, and because the clinic would be closing for the holiday weekend, Dr. Kenton referred us to a 24 hour care facility. Dr. Kenton and his staff then coordinated the care with the 24 hour hospital we chose. I wish we had found Flamingo Pet Clinic and Dr. Kenton years ago. We were so impressed with his entire staff and their compassion and competent care. Dr. Kenton took plenty of his time to explain in detail what was going on with our cat, the conditions he was able to rule out, and what the next steps should be. We were very impressed with Dr. Kenton and his devotion to caring for pets. Quite frankly, Flamingo Pet Clinic, Dr. Kenton and staff may easily be in the running for the best animal clinic in Las Vegas. I called the other day because my cockatiel was attacked by a dog and was badly hurt. I live right down the street so I told them what happened and asked if I could come in and have my bird euthanized. I was told by the receptionist that since my bird had never been seen by them that they wouldn't help me. My bird bled out, this clinic SPECIALIZES in birds and they wouldn't help me. No matter if we're calling on the phone or talking to him in person he has the worst stank attitude. I don't understand it. Does he not want to deal with anyone? Michael Williams, DVM, saw my cat. My cat had an emergency last year, so I went there for a regular check-up and yearly vaccination. During the 20-minute visit, he spent 90% of the time talking about his health history, his cat being naughty, and then his friend's health history. I couldn't understand the relevance. I tried directing him to the point--why my cat was scratching his leg, had dandruff, and was vomiting. He answered in a single sentence and then went back to his previous topic, which I had zero interest in. When the nurse came to explain the bill, there was a charge for examining my cat. I asked what it was for, and she said, "Our vet examined your cat." I was almost tempted to say, "Really?" but chose to be unnecessarily polite instead. I need to show the vet one of my cat's lab report from my phone, I couldn't access using my mobile internet, so I asked for the Wi-Fi password at the reception (Michael Williams had told me I could get it there). The receptionist ( big guy with few green hair strand) was very rude and said, "No, that's not in our policy. There is no Wi-Fi here." end of the discussion, like I am talking to my 3rd grade math teacher. Rude. Then the nurse took my cat to another room for the vaccination, which raised my eyebrows. My cat is an animal--he can't report back to me whether he actually got the vaccine. Why couldn't I see them vaccinate my cat? Oh, that's another policy! First I would like to say that as soon as I arrived at this place, it rubbed the wrong way. I should have left when my first interaction was watching one of the nurses be rude to the front desk attendants, who, after she left the room, said they hated her to each other. I brought my pet, who had been throwing up and was also due for shots over a week ago. During the examination, the doctor was too busy telling terrible jokes and barely listening to the timeline of events leading up to me bringing my dog in. At no time did he take the time to examine my dog truly physically. Because he was telling terrible jokes trying to see if my dog would react to him, I asked him if he has seen his medical records, which he told me... oh, they never gave them to me, so I didn't look. I was sent away with motion sickness medicine, and no follow-up appointment was even made by them at the time to follow up or also get the shots for which I also made the appointment. 4 days after the medicine runs out, I call to speak to the doctor at 10 am because my dog is still vomiting daily. My phone call wants returning till 5 pm, and a new medicine was then prescribed, which took them till 1 pm the next day for them to fill. Three days into these meds, today, I call because he is still throwing up and is unable to sleep at night. They wanted to charge me a walk-in fee for wanting to come in without an appointment because the next is not available till the 6th. I am now at another vet, one which I should have gone to, to begin with. We are still here Also waiting for them to send the blood work and records, Which were requested to be sent over today at 9:30am. Now I find out my dog, which, when they did a real physical exam here, they noticed he was flinching to the touch of his stomach. With one X-ray later and now I find out that my pet possible has stomach cancer and Now I have to check him into an emergency clinic last min to figure out what going on. I've had to watch my dog suffer for weeks now, with this item in his stomach that could have killed him because of the lack of care this place takes when taking in new patients. Don't waste your time here, don't risk your pet's life if you care about them by bringing them here. - it really sucks having to put my dog to sleep, when if I would have known 4 weeks ago something was going on I could have done something to save him. read more

I have been taking my pets here since 2001 but will no longer take them here. The main reason is due to Chris, who is at their front desk. He is honestly, the rudest and most insincere person. They now have signs at their front desk warning humans about their behavior and how it won't be tolerated. No doubt, it was Chris who put those signs there because clearly, people are reacting to how he treats people. His mannerism is callous, condescending and dismissive. It's a shame, because Dr. Kenton, who has been treating my fur babies for 20+ years is lovely, but when you have to deal with a person like Chris, it's not worth driving 30 minutes to stay with this vet clinic. read more

the vet clinic has a pet snake they feed LIVE mice to. this is just inhumane and unethical-- especially as a place that is supposed to care for all animals. causing needless suffering for a rodent and risk to the snake? humane rodent and reptile rescues find this shameful. someone from their vet staff is on facebook selling the rejected mice and saying she doesn't care if they're used for food. for the vet staff who argues feeder mice and fancy mice are not the same.. did you not learn in school? fancy mice is a species. feeder mice is a label that breeders use for fancy mice. i'm a rodent adoption counselor for a public shelter and would never recommend this place for anyone, especially those with exotic pets. read more

First time here. My 19 year old Eclectus Parrot wasn't acting his normal lively self so I did some research to find an Avian Vet. Luckily I found this place. I drove about 30 mins but that doesn't matter as long as they know what they are doing. The Doctor that saw Kiwi was very knowledgeable so that eased my mind. He weighed him, took blood, did a mouth culture & a fecal culture. Hopefully everything is okay. Dr Kenton is excellent with birds. Now I have to wait about a week for the test results. Now that I found a good Avian Veterinarian I feel more at ease. I will be going to see him every year to have him check Kiwi. Bottom Line: An excellent Avian Doctor who knows Parrots. I feel so much better knowing my Baby is in good hands. And that makes a Bird Mommy very Happy. read more

I had deleted a negative review about this business because the clinic's owner offered me a refund on some X-rays I was bullied into paying for (which were NOT NECESSARY), but due to another negative interaction, I want the pubic to know who they are dealing with. Last spring, I took my cat in because he started laboring to breathe. I asked for antibiotics during the exam, and the vet said he wanted to take X-rays. I tried to advocate for myself, but Dr. Kenton was adamant and told me if I took my cat home and he died, he did not want to hear me complaining. (How horrible and predatory is that ?) In tears, I agreed to the X-rays. In the end, the images were not necessary, as my cat just had bronchitis. I left with the antibiotics I originally asked for, and paid them a ridiculous bill for the X-rays, exam, and meds. I wrote a negative review, and they ultimately ended up refunding me to save face. Today I called to ask for an antibiotic refill because the bronchitis seems to have returned with the California fire smoke and the recent weather inversion. I was treated rudely over the phone by the receptionist, whom the doctor who ultimately told me to take my business elsewhere. Dr. Kenton is rude, brash, reactionary, and ultimately cares more about money and his own ego than he does animals. DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABIES HERE. read more

Dr Kenton has my vet since 2001! He has treated all of my cats and I have always felt like he has my animals best interest at heart. I have lost two sweet cats since October and he has spent the time with me and I know that he actually cares. It's truly a family business with Dr Kenton's daughter working along her parents. So my new puppy swallowed my earring that she stole off my night stand. I didn't have a backing to it and I was freaking out...on the day I was to move to Nevada the next morning from LA. It was already too late in the day for anyone in CA to see my dog but I was hoping I could get an appt in Nevada the next morning. I practically called every vet clinic possible to beg them to see my new puppy at any cost. I'll pay whatever, I wait as long as I needed that day, whatever it it took. Most places turned me down. I get that they're busy but like.. were all of these vets about to let my new puppy die?! Anyway, I called flamingo pet clinic and was so lucky to speak to a gentleman that cared. He asked good questions and seemed genuinely concerned. He calmed me down by telling me to watch my dogs behavior and access the situation. He said if my dog is as eating and being normal, she should be okay--but most importantly, he mentioned he was booked for a week or two and he that he was the vet. Not the tech or anyone else, the actually vet. So I felt so much better that I got advice from the vet. Even more important, he agreed to see my dog first thing in the morning!!! I drove 5 hours directly with my dog and a car filled to the brim with my belongings straight to the vet. Emotionally, physically, and mentally drained I got to the vet and he was so damn nice. He saw my dog, said she seemed fine and that he would see her immediately should there be problems in a couple of days. I did all I could to not hug the guy and give him however much money he asked for. To my surprise, his fees are totally far. The most reasonably priced in the area after further research. Anyway, more people like this guy should exist. The world would be a much better place read more

I'm a little picky and am familiar with the industry, and have been looking for a while to find something as great as the place where I work. I just came back from an appointment for my conure and I'm so happy I could cry. This is the only place to take your bird, no matter where you are in the city - it's so worth the drive. Everything is done in front of you that can be done, Dr. Kenton takes his time talking to you as a client and not a number, explains everything and the reason behind it clearly and he doesn't rush a single thing. It's a huge black and white difference compared to where I had settled. I'm looking forward to bringing my dogs here and being a long term client for as long as this place stays open and should they move the clinic as far as Laughlin, I'd take that drive without a second thought. read more

DO NOT GO HERE - DR KENTON WILL RIP YOU OFF!!! I went in yesterday because my cat was sick with a fever and wasn't eating. Dr. Kenton insisted on running an x-Ray, anesthetizing my cat to get simple blood work, and ran another test without telling me the cost. My bill was nearly $600 and he couldn't even tell me what was wrong with my cat!!! Yet he was able to give me antibiotics to clear up my cat's inflection BEFORE any test results had come back... sooo if he knew antibiotics were necessary, why run an X-ray and blood work? Either he's incompetent or he overcharged. Both scenarios are horrendous and it mean he should NOT be practicing veterinary medicine. Avoid this place. read more

In my original review I reported that after visiting Flamingo Pet Clinic my foster cat developed ringworm. In their response it was suggested that maybe my foster cat, who had lived outside, caught ringworm while living outside but didn't show symptoms until after our visit to the clinic. What is being suggested is that ringworm has a 5+ week incubation period. I can't find anything on any reputable health websites that suggests or supports an incubation period of more than 14 days for ringworm. As far as my cat that was diagnosed with IBD, what we realize now is that he was slowly dying. More than we want just to hold him in our arms, we wish we would've known and could've prevented his suffering. I returned with him to the clinic six times after ther initial bloodwork was done. Bloodwork was never again suggested or recommended to me. If, as the response for the clinic suggests, bloodwork can change over a course of weeks, it seems like it would've been a good idea to rerun bloodwork on one of those six visits. I wrote my review when I felt ready, I feel the info in it is valuable regardless of when I write it. I think there are good people working at Flamingo Pet Clinic. I don't think anyone there would want either of the cats that had issues to be anything but well and happy. But I do think it is possible to be more vigilant about sanitation, and I'm not the only reviewer who has mentioned this. Also, as painful as my experience was, I think it's important to share so that others can learn from my heartbreak on how to better advocate for their pet's health and ask for more diagnostic info, above what is offered or recommended, and get a second opinion! read more

I recently adopted my kitten from Homeward Bound and was given a free examination with his contract. I scheduled my appointment and met with the vet. Our kitten appeared to be healthy in all aspects except I had a concern with the possibility of ear mites because he has been tilting his head, crying and scratching for days. The vet stated they performed a swab test and didn't detect it and cleaned his ears. Shortly after our visit the wax started building up again, becoming darker and unbearable for our kitten. He cries in pain, shakes his head and has probably already given it to our older cat. Staff was nice. I just wish they would've properly treated it and took the issue more seriously. He is an inside dog and hardly ever leaves sour home. But we will have to leave him in a kennel in Pa for three days. My wife went to The Flamingo pet clinic and asked for something that would protect the dog for the three days he would be in a kennel in Pa. Instead of giving my wife a flea collar that they sell in Walmart for 3.99 they gave her a box of flea and tick preventive that would last for six months and charged her over $80.00 for it. As soon as my wife came home, and I saw it I immediately went back to the clinic to return it as I needed a three-day collar not a six month $80.00 pill that would be useless after three days. They refused to even listen they said once the box leaves the clinic it cannot be returned. The box was still wrapped and unopened. I asked them to please refund the $80.00 which they refused because they already defrauded my wife out of the money. I put the unopened box on the counter and walked away. I went home and the doctor called me to scold me.AT the time I had enough, and I told her where she could go and what she could do. DO go here the place is a scam. I have had thirteen dogs during my lifetime and never dealt with a clinic, so money orientated as this one. Bordetella vacation and a heart worm pill. $218.00. I even have pet insurance that would pay the whole thing... It is just the principle. read more

I had a horrible experience down the street at another pet clinic so I just happened to stumble across this place. I was so afraid my pup had gotten exposed to Parvo because he was very sick and had only had his first set of shots. They took precautions and did the testing right away. He had pancreatitis and she explained to me that human food is so bad for him. I would give him lunch meat sometimes as a treat thinking it was okay for him to have, but I was so wrong. I brought my silkie chicken here to be diagnosed when I suspected heatstroke. She was lethargic and wouldn't eat after the high temperatures yesterday evening. The doctor told me that she had a calcium deficiency AFTER I told him she just laid a normal egg that morning. Long story short...it was the very obvious heatstroke, thankfully she's recovering safely at home. Either the doctor is out to make a buck with the "how much do you love your pet" mentality, or he just doesn't know anything about avians in the heat here in Las Vegas. I brought my Eclectus parrot in for nail and beak trim, check up and bloodwork. Dr Kenton knows that Jacob has anxiety when he goes in for this so he suggested a little valium to settle him down and make him more accommodating to being handled and worked on. Dr Kenton and his staff did a great job, Jacob got home, took a nap and ate a good dinner tonight. My wife and I set up on Tuesday with a girl at this clinic to have our three dogs put to sleep. we have two 17 1/2 year-old Chihuahuas they can't stand or see anymore and my wife's dad recently moved in he has a 14 year old blood hound they can't control its bowels, so we made a very hard decision, we had everything set up to come in, called to verify they were back from lunch. Another lady answered the phone which I wish I knew her name, very rude when my wife told her why we wanted to come in to put three dogs to sleep. She wanted to know why we wanted to put three dogs to sleep. The girl was very rude. ended up telling us to take our business elsewhere. It's so hard to deal with right now we're putting down three family members not just dogs. Absolutely no compassion from this place. I wouldn't recommend them if you want to be assured that your dogs are in good hands and I know I'm probably saying this out of anger right now but it's sad that people have to act this way, if your babies mean anything to you, you should think twice about bringing them here. read more

After adopting him we decided to keep him. We always have a good and pleasant visit every time we see him. This past December 21,2019 my fur baby had a bad diarrhea and of course he needed to be seen. That day fall on a Saturday which I am fully aware that they only do appointments however due to unfortunate circumstances and unexpected sickness we weren't able to schedule an appt right away. what happened that day made us decide not to go back due to lack of sympathy and the rudeness of Chris. Called exactly at 8am and spoke with Chris told him what happened and he bluntly told me THE DOCTOR CAN'T SEE YOU BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE AN APPOINTMENT. IF YOU WANT YOU CAN COME IN YOU AND WAIT THE WHOLE DAY TO BE SEEN. if he denies this I dare them to pull the call if it's even recorded. are you kidding me?! This type of employee shouldn't be working in a medical field. Is that how they treat their patients? I've been working in a medical field for over 8years and patients are leaving, changing doctors because of staff being rude and arrogant like Chris. After talking to him over the phone we called couple of vet offices within our area that are open on a Saturday some are fully booked and not taking walk ins, however these offices graciously told us that they cannot accommodate us but they provided us some recommendations. As a patients sometimes that's what you need, RECOMMENDATIONS! I will let not let my fur baby suffer and wait THE WHOLE DAY just to be seen in that office! Not begging for their services!
