Took my cat to Sunset Eastern Vet for a $50 bath. They said they wouldn't do it unless her shots were up to date. I agreed to that $100. Left her there, got a call that she was being aggressive and they would have to sedate her $100. I reluctantly agreed because she was already there and all the BS charges. She came home like a zombie. I gave her 3 days to come out of her daze, no eating or drinking. She just laid there. And had a big sore or something on her nose. I thought it was chapped from dehydration. Called vet wanting help, they wanted to charge more. I begged for an IV, they agreed $68. 3 days later, she's still bad, barely drinking. Called for help, wants to do labs and stuff which is too costly. I settled for an injection $55. She finally ate half a churu this morning and a ton of water. Im really disappointed with this vet. They had no compassion and shouldn't have given the cat vaccinations and anesthesia at the same time. This is all their fault, they hurt my kitty and couldn't care less. read more

I have had a lot of pets and. Since I have moved to Vegas I feel Sunset Eastern has been the best clinic my fur baby has gone too. Dewy actually gets "happy" to see the clinic and runs to the door of the office. She has boarded there several times and loves the staff and doctor! She is now 14 years old and is at the sunset of her life. Diagnosed with progressing heart failure, Dr was compassionate to explain how I could prolong her life but that she is nearing the end. I am so late with this review, almost 2 years. We have a vacation home in Vegas and while we were visiting my Cavapoo (who was a year old at the time) decided to bite a prickly pear off a cactus. I think because it was red and looked like a ball. It happened so fast that we did not realize it. When we got home he could not drink water and we noticed he dropped the cactus piece on the carpet. His mouth and gums were full of stickers. I tried pulling some out but they were in tight. I called this hospital and they got him in right away and in two hours they got them all out. Many were microscopic and even under his tongue. I was so thankful that they got him in right away. Otherwise, I was worried he may swallow some of the stickers that were loose. I've wasted two hours of my life attempting to bring my dog into this clinic and we still have not made it past the lobby, at this point we never will because I will not be back. I cannot speak to the actual care provided here as I mentioned we've never gotten that far but the staff and/or their standard operating procedures are wayyy below the standard of any health care facility I've ever been to, so I have no confidence in the rest. Our first visit was supposed to be on Friday 05/16. My husband booked the appt. and gave me two different times, so I called that morning to confirm the actual appointment time. After two unanswered calls I head towards the clinic so if the first time was correct, we would make it. If the second time was correct, we could run some errands as there was only 2 hours difference between them. After no answer for 2 calls I received a text message response which I reply to asking to confirm my dogs appointment time. Again no response, as we're driving and getting closer I call again. I reach someone at the front desk who informs me that my dog does not have any appointments scheduled and is not in their system. As I did not book it myself, I chalk it up to human error, maybe my husband didn't confirm, maybe he stopped short of submitting the appointment request, he's at work and I cannot contact him to ask. So I schedule another appointment on the phone, from their parking lot, for the following Monday. My dog and I return home, completing the 1 hour round trip with nothing to show for it, when I get a call from the office saying, "Oh we just found you in our system, you actually do have an appointment today (a little less than an hour from now)." I inform them I won't be driving back again that day and will keep my Monday appointment. Today I arrive, in the parking lot at 1:37, I am slightly late for my 1:30 appt. As I gather my dog and get him in the front door, after walking around the building looking for the entrance which is not by the exit, it is now 1:39. I speak to the front desk associate and let her know what I"m here for and she informs me, "the doctor has a housecall after you and they are about to leave right now, let me see if they can see you or if you have to reschedule." Excuse me, why would you book a new patient during the time the only vet here has already packed up to leave the office? Is there not even a 10 minute grace period for an appt. time, like any standard human healthcare provider? Why was I not called and asked to reschedule if the doctor wasn't even planning in being in the office for the duration of my visit? Most importantly, why are y'all wasting my time 2 visits in a row with your piss poor communication skills, because I most definitely won't be making the 1 hour round trip drive a 3rd time to hope to be seen by this incompetent office when there are so many others available. We were referred here by the Animal Rescue where we adopted our beloved dog and will definitely be letting them know what kind of service I received or lack thereof in hopes that they stop referring others here and avoid wasting their time as well. read more

From the front desk, who is amazing, to the vet techs, to the veterinarians, everyone is on your pet's side and work extremely hard to give them the care they need!!!!! It's all about your pet. My boy had a bad growth and infection on his neck and I was so scared. They did everything to calm me and assure me he was going to be ok and they were right. They scheduled surgery and went forward very quickly, he did great! My dog is having uncontrollable diarrhea and I called at 11:00am on Thursday and was told that they don't have any available appointments until Tuesday of next week. I asked if I could do a walk-in and the woman on the phone said not on Friday but that their next available date that they would accept walk-ins would be Saturday. Show up first thing on Saturday morning and the woman in the reception said "you didn't call here" I showed her my call log and she said that they don't accept walk-ins and couldn't help my dog. So now I have waited two days for my dog to be able to see her vet and was turned away. Shame on this company and the person who told me that they would accept Mona on the weekend. Now I have to find an emergency vet because I can't just wait around until their next available appointment.. especially with my dog not eating or being able to poop properly. Dr. Kronbetter & the staff of Sunset Eastern Animal Hospital are simply amazing. I recently relocated back to southern Nevada with two elderly dogs and was really dreading finding a decent vet. After much searching I settled on Sunset and Eastern AH and I have not been disappointed! All the staff have been extremely professional and responsive. They always follow up with calls for after care when appropriate. Also the clinic is spotless. No hair or dirt anywhere, and no smells. Yes, occasionally there may be some odor from another patient - it is an active vet practice - but there are no lingering odors from urine or other waste. Not sure why that seems to be such a rare thing with many vet offices - but not here! What I really appreciate about them - I recently had to put one of my precious boys down they couldn't have handled the difficult situation any better. There was no waiting and they handled the whole process with the utmost of respect. While I haven't been seeing their practice for that long, they still made me feel like family during the most difficult of times. Especially Dr. Dronbetter. You really can't ask for a more caring or effective vet practice. As for other people complaining about prices - you get what you pay for. If price is all you care about, have at it. Seriously! The reviews are legit! Wow! I wish I had changed vets long ago! Besides the reasonable spay and neuter prices, Dr Grantz is the nicest and most patient vet! Not only did she answer my questions, her and her assistant did all the vaccines and exam right in front of me!!! I got to hold a Kong peanut butter treat on a stick for my pup to eat to distract her while they administered the shots. What a great idea! Seeing my pet cared for and not wondering what was going on when she disappeared into a back room, like my last vet, was comforting! That was one thing I missed when I lived in Ohio..... the exam in front of me, so I am happy to have found this Vet! I am writing this with a very frustrated pov. Not necessarily toward the vet; she treated my pet with the ultimate kindness, concern, and tenderness towards us as we had to lose our pet and put her down from her sickness and age. We chose a cremation package that would cremated our animal, and return her remains to use in a keepsake tin box, and a paw print of our animal. Having put her down, getting home from this sad occasion, we decided to call back, change the package by getting a loc of her hair included, they charged us the upgraded package that would include a keepsake frame, the paw print, and either the tin box or a wooden urn type thing. Now, here is what I am upset about. As a retail display artist, and artist, customer services are key in matching the quality and presentation to anything that involves the emotional attachment to a deceased loved one, or family pet. You want to ensure your client has something that they will cherish and appreciate when dealing with a loss. The price you pay should match the quality you receive. Right? I was hoping, key word her, HOPING. That I was paying for something that would give me hope knowing my beloved pet of 14 years would be resting in something that I can celebrate her life with for the rest of my life. Well, here is what really came back. I was handed a white happy meal box with black and grey bones printed on it, as I opened the box I see a small dollar store tin box with the same print on it, with a very nicely printed card from Sunset Eastern Animal Hospital, and a dollar store plastic frame that had a bent colored paper in it with a xerox paw print, a tiny loc of hair with a tiny bow glued to it, and some other cards, flyers, media. Dollar store tin box. Some of you may think well that's cute... NO, that's not a keepsake anything for a deceased beloved pet. There is nothing that says quality, concern for the client, care, or keepsake in a cheap tin box, and a dollar store plastic frame with colored craft paper thats even wrinkled. How would you feel, how would you share this with your family, your kids? What would even give anything that said that my money paid for a top tier with this? I don't think so! If you are offering the condolences to your client with this special package of your animal, or even a loved one, you follow through with a package that is designed with thought behind it, the physiology behind it, the attachment to their pet behind it. Not some cheap dollar store rip off your clients presentation that makes you wonder if they cared at all. Because if I didn't care enough I would have just let my pet die, buried it somewhere in nature and called it a day. I spent my hard earned money, after spending thousands on trying to save my pet on sending her off with the hopes that loved matched my love I gave her those 14 years. I think La Paloma pet cremation should hire someone that has a sensibility, care, and concern of the reaction of their paying clients in mind, not how much they care rip off their customers to make a fast buck. They had three options, I picked the middle option, and paid for the top option in the end. Isn't there some kind of commonsense here that would dictate your concern to ensure your grieving family would get this "KEEPSAKE" of their pets remains in something more classy, more quality, and something that resolved in care you should provide. REALLY! So knowing this is really long, I am sorry, but do not use La Paloma, they are taking you for a ride. Price -Euthanasia: $89 (take the body) -No ashes $157 -Ashes in a tin box with paw print $236 -Wood or metal ink paw print$294 Dollar store tin box, McDonalds style happy meal box, and a cheap dollar store frame on crinkled craft paper. Not worth $294 After speaking to La Paloma Pet Cremation here is what happened. Well, now the La Paloma Pet Cremation is telling me out of thousands of cremations, he has never heard of this crazy complaint. WOW, really! Well, maybe you need to learn how to communicate with customers who are grieving and had higher expectations. The gentleman with whom i spoke to was rather frustrated and upset with me because he had never had any problems before. He agreed that the tin box and frame only cost $5. So, I paid $294 for a service that only cost you $157, then he proceeded to tell me that it cost time to pick up the pet, drive the pet there, use a thousand dollar piece of equipment... bla, bla, bla. But for some reason he didn't get the disconnect of $157 - $294, and a $5 tin box and cheap frame. So, I am having a crazy conversation with him???? REALLY! There is a physiology behind how you present a grieving family with a keepsake of their beloved pet. Amazing facility. To make an awfully long story short, my King Charles Cavalier Spaniel somehow ingested an unknown foreign object. His health declined quickly in a matter of 24 hours. After a 1am animal emergency room visit, my husband remembered this office from the impeccable care they provided his dog back in the 90s! Gizmo was taken in immediately, he was given xrays and put on an IV because he was getting dehydrated from vomiting. We left him there for the day for observation and to see if the foreign body would pass. Sadly, it didn't and was causing tissue necrosis by his pancreas. As a survivor of septic shock myself, I knew he needed surgery immediately. Dr. Kronbetter kept us updated the entire day. Surgery went amazing! She saved our baby! This brings me to today, we had a surgery follow up appointment to remove his staples (he had approximately 17) he didn't even cry! Dr. Kronbetter is an Angel. UPDATE: Sunset Eastern Animal Hospital continues to be Bentley's Vet. The "Vet" mentioned in my review is no longer with the practice. His main now is Dr Tessa Kronbetter. Believe me, I have visited plenty of other Vets trying to find a place closer to where I live, but nobody has been able to gain my trust. ___________________________ Im going to post this because I find it absolutely, yet disturbingly hilarious. On Wednesday. April 16, I took Bentley to the Vet (Eastern Sunset Animal Hospital) to be precise because he has been coughing on Tuesday and he sounded like a 2 yrs old with bronchitis. On Tuesday afternoon after listening to him coughing desperately I reviewed all the mediation I had for him and I found and old bottle of Torbutrol - yet not expired with only 3 pills in it - that specifically mentions on the label it is for cough and that I knew it was given to him last time he caught Kennel Cough. So after 2 doses, one in the afternoon and another in the evening, he was sounding better Wednesday morning, but I still wanted the assessment of a Vet on his condition. So when I arrived to the Vet offices and mentioned to the Assistant what I have done I get the "judgmental face". So I was thinking, "Ok, bad of me to diagnose him, "whatever" , Vet its a doctor", but still I was bothered about how I was treated by the Vet Assistant. She took the bottle out of my hands and proceeded to check the medication. I was quite baffled by this because they were the ones that prescribed the medication almost 2 yrs before when he got Kennel Cough at the local dog park (Sunset Park, Las Vegas, NV). So the Vet comes in, Dr Reed (not my usual one - Dr. Kathy Sarnelli). And she proceeds to be super standoffish! I am in WTF land! She proceeds to tell me that Bentley's lungs are clear so that he must be having just the common Kennel Cough and that if to be treated with Torbutrol it will be really expensive as the price of Torbutrol is 3 time more than a year ago. I did try to get a price for this medication and she was SUPER ambivalent about it. That I should go home at treat him with Robitussin DM and give me the common recommendations usually attached with a case of Kennel Cough. Needless to say I am all for Bentley and his well being no matter what! Regardless of her "professional diagnosis" I left there with this nagging feeling that I had been dumbed down from, my 147 IQ and patronized to oblivion in regards what Bentley needed in terms of medication. As this feeling persisted, no matter that I had already given Bentley his Robitussin DM and he was responding well to it, I went mega on to research and found out that the reason why Torbutrol in any of his forms it is so expensive now a days its because people are using it to get high!!!!!!!!!!!! "Are you FUCKING kidding me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" came to mind not only because people are freaking crazy, but I realized that I have been treated by this Vet and her assistant like the common addict (like 90% of Las Vegas People) trying to get high. I;m from PR born and raised from a good family and I don't do drugs!!!! I am not part of Las Vegas fucking culture, thank God, nor I will ever be!!!!!!!!!! So this is a mega insult for me!!!!!! Thank GOD that by now Bentley has responded well to be Robitussin and that he is not coughing anymore, because if ANYTHING would had happened to MY Bentley, I think I would be having a mega legal battle with this people. So I went into vet letting them know I was 95 percent sure it was a bone she had digested they told me it be 200 to xray... and surgery would cost estimated 1600.00 ok so 1800 estimated. When I leave the vet the total was at 460, medicine and only x-rays ,fluid had been done and they suggested surgery for 3000.00 to 4000.00 more dollars. I feel they play off people's emotions and love for the pet and how big your wallet is. They basicallt sent me home with a dead dog ... she died 2 hours later ... unless you have 3000 to 4000 cash, no payments accepted unless you qualify for care credit . They received the 2 stars for at least they showed they pretended to care.. the estimate was way off. Shame on them. Maybe others had a better experience but I did not. read more
