Over half of the appointments were just 15 to 20 minutes long, requiring me to repeatedly return another day. The staff took about 10 impressions all together. The wax try-ins felt wrong, way too big, consequently the lab technician tweaked it multiple times. Finally when I told them the try-in felt ok, the tech felt it needed further modifications, and the new changes would throw the fit off again. He stated my mouth structure was different than most people. The lab tech was dismissive when I expressed my concerns on its size. It felt too large, too tall, and in the end, the finished product required a soft reliner. A brand new denture should not require a soft liner to fill gaps! I cannot eat with it, and even my family thought it looked awful in my mouth. After 3 decades of wearing dentures, I never had a practice where there was so much difficulty to make a denture or where my denture did not reasonably fit, and certainly not a place where I had to repeatedly return so many times before getting the finished product. On the positive side, the women working there are nice, patient, and accommodating. I do believe this place would try to continue to work with it if that's even possible, but it is no longer worth the mileage on my car or repeating the same process again; when I can go elsewhere and get a new denture in just a couple of visits elsewhere. I have been going there ever since, and my fear about dental work is gone. Having had a great deal of dental work done over the years ie braces, gum surgery, root canals, crowns, and a bridge; I am certain this type of damage should not have been inflicted. I used to think my old dental office had fair prices until I started going here. Now I see I was getting ripped off at the other place! Dishonor on the other place's home, family, and cows. Anyway, after my insurance, it was like $40 for one filling. That's great! The front office staff are nice, too. Also, they actually know what's going on in regards to how much your insurance will pay. There's nothing worse than paying $100 and thinking you're done, but then getting an invoice in the mail a month later for another $100. That's never happened here!

Slight disclaimer: I might be a little bias since this incident happened today and I'm still a…read morelittle mad (by a little, I mean raging-blood pressure spiking-arm numbing mad). Went in today for what I thought was a routine cleaning. The dentist came in to do the usual check and told me to let him know if a roughness on my tooth was bothering my tongue and he can file it down. I was confused, since nothing there had bothered me before, but I didn't think anything more of it. Went to my car to look in the mirror and saw THE HYGIENIST HAD CHIPPED MY FRONT TOOTH. I went back in and asked for the dentist to file it down. I told him I was pretty sure my tooth wasn't like that when I came in and even showed him a picture on my phone of my teeth. He said it was hard to tell from the picture. He and his assistant then tried to make me grind my jaw to see if that would've chipped it. I couldn't even get my jaw in that position and the assistant said I could grind my teeth in my sleep without knowing it. Pretty sure I didn't start grinding my teeth the night before a dental appointment. Before the dentist came in, the assistant was looking at my teeth and I commented on how sharp the chip still was like it was new and she agreed with me. The dentist did file my tooth, so I wouldn't look like a meth addict and apologized if I "thought it was them that did it." My tooth may not have a chip in it anymore, but now my formerly perfect teeth are crooked. Thanks, Eastern Oklahoma Dental. I will always have this ugly tooth to remember you by.

But on a personal note, I am also as a victim of strangulation, It has been extremely hard over the years to do things like getting your teeth cleaned, being in new unfamiliar places, or having people in your face etc... But then I found Laura and Her Team. They never made me feel that I was not heard or that I did not have the ability to say I was uncomfortable. Her and the whole office kept things up beat and verbized what care practices they where doing to keep me included. It's been a few years now since I started going to Elwood Dental, and I can proudly say that I can get my teeth cleaned with little of the same stress levels that I had 4 years ago. I'm confidant that they would do this for anyone and that they genuinely care. But I am extremely glad that the universe sent me here and to Laura.

I found Elwood Avenue Dental, I called and asked about the staff, all my questions were answered and I made my appointment. I had issues with a crown for years and Dr Salayta said it needed to be redone. There was no saving it. We had 3 visits, he removed the old crown, prepared the root for the new one and talked me through the whole procedure, step by step. His staff was excellent and knew what he needed next in every procedure and we got the new tooth replacement in about a week. It fit perfect and feels better than the old one ever did!

I told them I would absolutely not be getting a crown and wanted confirmation that it couldn't be filled. They said no. I repeated I wouldn't be getting a crown ever. They kept pushing, giving me a printout for the $500+ they would be charging me and trying to schedule. I said I was not going to schedule anything because I was never coming back there again and walked out. I then scheduled an appointment with Atlanta Place Dentistry, who kindly performed an x-ray at no cost, since Perfect Smile had never sent my records over even though I signed a release weeks before. They confirmed that not only did I not need a crown, I didn't even have a cavity. It's absolutely unacceptable to be scamming people this way. I can't help but wonder how many poor people have wasted money and had their teeth drilled down for absolutely no reason. I also find it highly unprofessional to have crucifixes hanging in every room a medical office, especially if you're going to be scamming people.

I always think of "Little Shop of Horrors." Kaitlyn was the hygienist and I requested to have her every time. She was personable and explained everything very well. Dr. Davis is pretty great also. My teeth feel great and I am actually looking forward to my next appointment. They seem to take most of not all insurances and if you need to do a payment plan, they help you figure that out. The facility is very clean and the room I was in had a tv which helped me keep my mind off things. The outside looks like something out of a movie. Very whimsical currently with the leaves changing.
